Maloren leaned in a little and lowered his voice.
"We need to talk."
Seirion felt Maloren's hand tighten around his wrist, not painfully, but firmly. He tried to pull it away with a gentle movement.
"I need to return to the temple," he murmured, keeping his eyes fixed on a point in front of him to avoid meeting Maloren's gaze.
"We need to talk. Now, Seirion." Maloren still didn't let go. His voice was a low, strained whisper. "But not here."
Seirion frowned.
Maloren rarely looked nervous, much less alert, but his eyes drifted back toward the place where the other gods still stood. Some were still talking among themselves, others simply watching the empty space Seirion and Maloren had left.
Maloren added under his breath:
"This place isn't safe for what I need to say. And neither is your temple. Too many humans wandering around." He took a slow breath, as if calculating something. "Come to my domain. We can speak there without interruptions."
