Chapter : 22
South Pole (2)
--------------------
The moonlight in the Desolate Mystic World cast a milky white light across the expansive plain.
This was neither snow nor frost, but a cold that has been untouched since the dawn of this world.
This place, where even fire would extinguish and not a single ounce of life would dare to grow, was the South Pole of the Desolate Mystic World, known to all as the Frozen Abyss and one of the deadliest place in the entire desolate mystic world..
This place, where the law of heaven and earth stops working, even the space froze here in the core area of the south pole.
Only the law of ice and snow can be used, otherwise, without protection of the law of the law of ice-snow, even the saint king will not be able to protect himself, with his just his physical and spiritual power.
Ji Yuyue appeared in the Frozen Abyss, her form encased in a glowing figment of glacial light. In her arms was the unconscious Qing Tian, who had curled his small body against her, his little face pale and who had a gentle expression, looking as though he were simply sleeping.
Her breath became condensed in the air and while she was undoubtedly one of the Qing Clan's top cultivators of law of ice-snow, one who had long tasted the Law of Snow and Frost, upon landing her foot on the world here, her bones shook.
This was not a mere chill, but an eternal frost that had consumed laws, an abyss that even rejected heaven.
Ji Yuyue grasped the child tighter and her fingers shook.
"Qing Tian....I wish you had... listened. I wish you had not gone against me. Against us. You would have had everything you wanted..." she said, so quietly it was like the frigid winds refused to take her breath away.
Her eyes lowered to his sleeping face; the faint structure of his lashes, his petite nose, the lips that once called her "Mother"; all of these seemingly carved into the hardest of her heart.
Ji Yuyue felt herself wanting to bring him closer, to protect him from this bastard of-a frost.
But, the memory returned. (before the fight of Qing Tian and that entity)
The memories of her, seeing his blood-red eyes; the killing intent that defied heaven and earth.
The sight of her husband where, he was killed their son, Qing Tian.
Once again, her heart turned to ice.
"No," she said, her voice now just as cold as the ice shards.
"You are not the son, that I gave birth to. You are a monster... a devil now dressed in the puppets mask of my son. To show mercy now... to prevent, to destroy everything I promised to protect."
The storm howled around them, as if the maw of the abyss agreed with the monstrosity.
Ji Yuyue finally got down onto her knees and gently lowered Qing Tian, as best as she could, onto the frozen ground. The ice below him cracked under whatever weight he had, but it neither melted it sucked him in like it was starving.
Her hands pressed against his cheek, cupping his cute face and looking at his fainted appearance.
It was warm, and soft. A child.
She wanted to cry, and nearly cried, but there were no tears; even her heart refused to work that way, to cry on her own child, who has almost killed her husband.
"I'm so sorry, Qing Tian, My Son." she whispered hoarsely.
"If you live in the clan, you may very well destroy us all. If we kill you with my very own hand, there is a chance the power that lays hidden, lurking in inside you, will stir again kill us all. I may not risk that, I cannot take risk for my son, Qing Long."
Her lips trembled. She withdrew her hand from his cheek, sitting upright, almost swelling with her presence.
A blizzard exploded outward, a storm of frost, burying the boy beneath more layers of ice than anyone could ever count.
She sealed him in formations, chaining his body as frozen qi locked him into the space he laid in. Though he woke and left the space, he would never leave this place.
She made sure of it.
The frost buried him like a tomb. His breath came shallow, slow, almost impossible to hear until it stopped.
Ji Yuyue turned her back to him, for the last time and ever.
Her robes billowed in the eye of the storm, her figure proud, merciless, beautiful, but cruel.
"You will die here," she heard herself say aloud, her tone no longer tender, but now declaring high treason.
"And the world will never know your name. Not as my son. Not as Qing Feng's successor. You will be erased in ice, and silence."
She moved forward, her form slowly dissipating into the storm.
Just as she was about to disappear entirely, Ji Yuyue paused.
Her heart was prickling with an indescribable pain.
She placed her hands over her heart, and spoke aloud, for the first time in her life, words not addressed to heaven or her clan and meant only for her.
"If there is a next life… maybe I can love you, as your mother, i hope, i could be the mother again for you, again. Maybe I will be able to become mother for you, good bye....."
My Son..!!!!!!!!!!
The blizzard started to circulate in the entire frozen abyss, and she was gone back to the Qing Clan.
Only, Qing Tian was left remaining, curled like a cat in the winter, his small body half buried in a layer of ice, faint breath steaming in the foreboding frozen air.
