Chapter 154: Samui: Come Back to Kumogakure With Me
Five figures flew out of the dust cloud. Simultaneously, a signal flare shot into the sky, bursting into smoke.
Tsunade frowned slightly at the sight. Were they signaling for reinforcements? Regardless of who they were, she needed to end this quickly.
Tsunade's body vanished from its spot.
"Be careful, everyone!" the Kumogakure Jōnin immediately shouted.
Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique!
Hoshikawa and Kurenai simultaneously formed hand signs. Two water dragons roared out, one behind the other.
Earth Release: Earth-Style Wall!
The Kumogakure Jōnin reacted swiftly, a wall of earth instantly rising before them. But in the very next second, the wall shattered into pieces.
It was Tsunade. She had punched through the wall, following the two water dragons as they surged toward the Kumogakure ninja.
Lightning Release: Bullet Malt Shot!
The Kumogakure Jōnin leaped into the air, two spherical lightning bolts appearing in his hands. The lightning bolts indiscriminately shot electricity outwards. The two water dragons were struck first, and the lightning quickly spread toward Tsunade.
Monster Strength!
Tsunade jumped into the air, shattered the lightning, and struck the Kumogakure Jōnin. His body convulsed and flew backward, spitting up a large amount of blood on the way.
Hoshikawa wasn't idle either. After performing the Water Dragon Bullet Technique, he drew his Lightning Fire Sword and used the Body Flicker Technique to approach the remaining four Kumogakure ninja.
Konoha Style: Willow!
The nearest Kumogakure ninja was about to form a hand sign when he realized with horror that his body was completely paralyzed. A cold glint flashed. The Lightning Fire Sword easily slit his throat.

Hoshikawa pressed his attack without pause. Two Shadow Clones emerged from a cloud of smoke. All three, wielding the Lightning Fire Sword, charged toward the last three Kumogakure ninja.
Two of the Kumogakure ninja were killed instantly. Only one middle-aged ninja remained. He reacted quickly, drawing a kunai to block Hoshikawa's Lightning Fire Sword.
Clang!
The middle-aged ninja's face paled. The immense force pushed his body back. In that moment of distraction, the other two Hoshikawas spun and struck a clean blow to his kidney. Hoshikawa followed up with another strike, sending him into a deep, infant-like sleep.
"Well done," Tsunade nodded slightly. With Hoshikawa's current strength, he could cut down ordinary Genin and Chūnin with ease. Only Jōnin posed any real challenge, and Jōnin were rare even among the Five Great Villages. Aside from wartime, the probability of encountering them was low.
"Lady Tsunade!" The six surviving ninja from the outpost rushed forward to greet her.
"No need for talk, all of you get inside the outpost," Tsunade waved her hand. "The Kumogakure Jōnin fired a signal flare. I estimate the enemy will be back shortly."
"Yes, ma'am!" Everyone, including Kurenai Nohara, retreated into the outpost.
Tsunade glanced at Hoshikawa and Kurenai, about to speak, but her expression suddenly changed. She lifted her head, looking at a point in the distance.
The sound of rushing wind. Five figures appeared before them. Leading the group was the powerfully built figure of the future Fourth Raikage, A.
In addition to him, there was Killer Bee, Samui, and two other Kumogakure ninja.
Hoshikawa instinctively looked at Samui. The expressionless, cool beauty winked at him.
What does that mean?
"Kurenai, fire a flare to notify Minato," Tsunade instructed calmly.
"Yes, Sensei." Kurenai quickly took out a flare and sent it soaring into the sky.
Kumogakure's AB Combo always moved together, and both possessed immense strength. In the entire Konoha camp, anyone other than Minato Namikaze or Tsunade would face only one outcome when encountering them: death. Even in death, they had to be useful, so everyone was equipped with signal flares to use at the first sign of the AB Combo.
Tsunade didn't fear the AB Combo, but other Konoha ninja were present, and she worried the situation could escalate. Regardless, for safety's sake, informing Minato Namikaze was the priority.
"What is the meaning of this, Kumogakure?" Tsunade asked, her tone flat.
"That's what I should be asking you!" A's expression darkened. "How do you explain Konoha's attack on Kumogakure in the Land of Rain?"
Konoha's interference meant Sunagakure hadn't been defeated in time. Now that Sunagakure was alert, a second assassination attempt was impossible. The injury to the Sandaime Raikage and the complete annihilation of a thousand elite Kumogakure ninja represented a devastating loss for their village.
"There's nothing to explain," Tsunade retorted, raising an eyebrow.
"You're right." A scoffed. Chakra surged out, enveloping his body in lightning. A powerful, suffocating pressure washed over the area.
Tsunade's expression tightened slightly. This was the Lightning Release Chakra Mode, a secret technique trained by the Raikage lineage. In this state, his physique and cells were activated, drastically increasing his power. Fortunately, they were facing A, not the Sandaime Raikage, whose strength was still a notch below his father's.
A took a step forward, and his body instantly vanished.
Lariat!
He reappeared before Tsunade as if teleported. Brilliant lightning converged on his elbow, and he drove it forward.
"Scatter!" Tsunade didn't forget to warn her students in the critical moment. She clenched her fist, covered it in chakra, and punched out violently.
Fist and elbow collided. A sharp, ear-splitting sound rang out, and a huge shockwave instantly burst outward, sweeping across the area. Hoshikawa grabbed Kurenai and quickly retreated.
Crack!
The ground fractured. A's face changed, and he finally lost his composure, staggering back a few steps involuntarily.
"My big brother lost a strength match?" Killer Bee asked in surprise. In his mind, A, with his Lightning Release Chakra Mode active, was unstoppable in both strength and speed.
"As expected of Princess Tsunade!" A laughed heartily. "Again!"
Liger Bomb!
The lightning surrounding A intensified, converging entirely in his leg. He turned into a bolt of lightning and rushed forward again. Chakra exploded, and A launched a kick. His speed was instantaneous, too fast for the naked eye to follow.
But Tsunade still reacted.
Heavenly Foot of Pain!
The two legs clashed, and a terrifying shockwave erupted once more. A deep crater was gouged out of the ground centered on them.
Chakra Scalpel!
Pale green chakra emanated from Tsunade's palm, quickly forming a sharp surgical blade. She aimed it at A's neck and slashed without hesitation.
"Big brother!" Killer Bee instinctively shouted.
A sense of peril washed over A. His pupils contracted, and a huge amount of lightning concentrated in his right arm.
Lariat! (Level)
He immediately raised his right arm, transforming it into a blade of his own, blocking the Chakra Scalpel. A frowned slightly. He quickly retreated. Despite the lightning protection, a faint line of blood had been drawn on his right arm.
"Big brother is hurt?" Killer Bee's eyes widened. Samui and the others were equally stunned.
Hoshikawa raised an eyebrow. A was indeed not at his peak yet. Of course, the main reason was that Tsunade's own strength was formidable.
"Tsunade is mine. The rest of you deal with the others," A stated, his expression serious.
"I'm afraid we can't let you have your way," a gentle voice interjected. Minato Namikaze appeared in front of Tsunade.
"You arrived quickly, but you're just one man," A scoffed. "Killer Bee!"
"Yeah, big brother!" Killer Bee responded, and the bloody chakra around him surged. In an instant, eight huge tails sprouted from his body, immediately lashing out at Tsunade and the others.
"Get clear!" Minato Namikaze quickly warned. He didn't hesitate to turn and move to protect Kurenai and the others.
Monster Strength!
Tsunade met the incoming tails with a punch.
Water Release: Water Formation Wall!
Hoshikawa clapped his hands, and a water wall appeared before him. The tail easily smashed through the water wall, but the action had bought them time.
Body Flicker Technique!
Hoshikawa rapidly retreated. The tail did not pursue but was pulled back.
The Kumogakure team used this opening to retreat entirely.
"They have a Jinchūriki. We don't need to pursue, lest we cause the Tailed Beast to rampage," Tsunade shook her head. "Minato, did Kumogakure send reinforcements?"
"No," Minato Namikaze replied. "I scouted around, but I didn't find any sign of them."
"Strange," Tsunade wondered. "Then what was the purpose of their action today?"
