Chapter 122: Tsunade's Special Training

"Hey, where are the two ANBU watching me?" Kushina yelled from the doorway, holding the prescription.

In a flash, two masked figures appeared.

"What is it, Kushina-sama?" the ANBU on the left asked respectfully.

"Give this prescription to the Hokage," Kushina said, her voice stern. "Tell him to send the medicine today."

"Yes, ma'am." The ANBU glanced at Tsunade, who was standing nearby, and nodded. His duty was to monitor and protect Kushina, and technically, he shouldn't leave his post. But with Tsunade here, it wasn't a problem.

"Miho," Kushina said, closing the door and walking up to Miho. "Since we have some time, I'll teach you how to play cards."

"Huh?" Miho looked surprised.

"With you, we have exactly three players now," Kushina said, slapping her forehead in realization. "Oh, wait, the Nine-Tails isn't a person."

"The Nine-Tails? Who's that?" Miho asked, confused.

"Nine-Tails," Kushina said with a grin. "Come out and meet your new card partner." Hiruzen had decided to let Miho live with her, so he must have already considered the issue of the Nine-Tails. There was no need to hide it.

A rush of evil chakra poured out. Two blood-red tails shot out from behind Kushina.

"That's the Nine-Tails?" Miho couldn't fully comprehend what she was seeing, but she was in awe.

"Yep," Kushina said, "It wants to shake your hand."

"Oh, okay." Miho snapped out of her daze and hesitantly reached out, wrapping her hand around one of the tails.

"Aren't you afraid of scaring her?" Tsunade couldn't help but laugh.

"Why would an Uzumaki ninja be afraid of the Nine-Tails?" Kushina said proudly.

The moment she said this, the Nine-Tails' two tails started dancing in frustration, showing its displeasure. Even though it was true, as the strongest Tailed Beast, it still had a reputation to uphold!

Miho instinctively took half a step back. In her senses, the Nine-Tails' chakra was endless. It was a truly terrifying monster.

"Don't you want to play cards?" Kushina asked. The Nine-Tails' two tails immediately froze mid-air before drooping.

"That's amazing!" Miho exclaimed.

"The Nine-Tails is easy to get along with. You don't have to be scared," Kushina said, waving her hand nonchalantly.

"Only you would say that." Tsunade shook her head. "We can play cards, but you also need to teach her ninjutsu." Miho was born with a vast amount of chakra, and not learning ninjutsu would be a waste. In this era of constant conflict, she needed the ability to protect herself. If Miho had learned the Uzumaki clan's sealing jutsu, escaping from Kusagakure would not have been a problem.

"I know," Kushina nodded. "I'll teach her after she's recovered."

"Kushina-neesan, can I sit in on the lessons?" Hoshikawa suddenly asked.

"Of course you can," Kushina said happily. "Teaching two people isn't that much different from one, and it'll be more lively."

Tsunade glanced at Hoshikawa and, after a moment of thought, didn't object. Normally, learning so many jutsu would spread a person's focus thin, but since Hoshikawa hadn't shown any problems yet, Tsunade let him do as he pleased.

"I'll have the ANBU notify you when we start," Kushina said, clapping her hands. "Let's play some cards!"

The Nine-Tails' two tails immediately came to life and clapped along. Tsunade joined the game but didn't play. Instead, she coached Miho.

Hoshikawa felt a headache coming on. After a few rounds, Miho realized that Tsunade's gambling skills were simply awful. Out of politeness, she didn't refuse her coaching and continued to follow her commands. Kushina held her tongue.

The Nine-Tails was a terrible player, and under Tsunade's guidance, Miho was just as bad. Even though Kushina kept winning, she felt like her victories were hollow.

"Sensei," Hoshikawa said, grabbing Tsunade's wrist and pulling her aside. "Miho-neesan has already learned. She doesn't need any more coaching." He couldn't stand to watch this honest person get taken advantage of any longer!

"She keeps losing! How has she learned?" Tsunade glared at him. "Don't interrupt my teaching!"

Can't you tell why she's losing? Hoshikawa 's mouth twitched. "Let her play a couple of rounds by herself."

Tsunade thought about it and stopped coaching her. Soon, her face turned sour. Without her meddling, Miho won three consecutive games before finally losing the fourth to Kushina.

"So, Sensei?" Hoshikawa asked with a cheerful smile. Tsunade's expression darkened. She raised her hand and smacked him on the head twice.

"What was that for?" Hoshikawa said in a fit of rage, elbowing her.

"Brat!" Tsunade said, wrapping her arm around his shoulder. "Are you trying to rebel?"

Hoshikawa 's gaze instinctively drifted to the left. As Tsunade leaned in, her clothes stretched to their limit, revealing a mountainous figure and dazzling white skin.

"That's not what I meant," Hoshikawa said, blinking.

"I'm sure you wouldn't dare!" Tsunade let him go, a slight smile on her lips, and patted him on the head. Hoshikawa looked away, thinking that he'd get her back someday.

"Let's stop here for today," Kushina said, standing up. "I'll go make lunch."

"Tsunade-sama," Miho said, looking at Tsunade. "Thank you for teaching me."

"It's nothing," Tsunade said, feeling a hint of awkwardness, but she was too shameless to let it show. At the very least, she had taught Miho the rules of the game.

After lunch, the two of them said goodbye to Kushina and Miho and went home.

"Ah, there's nothing like being home!" Tsunade said, kicking off her high-heeled sandals and walking barefoot into the living room.

Hoshikawa sighed, bending down to pick up her shoes and put them on the shoe rack.

"You should get some rest these next two days. Don't worry about training. Just do whatever you want." Tsunade plopped down on the sofa, leaned back, closed her eyes, and let out a sigh of relief.

"What about you?" Hoshikawa asked, pouring two glasses of water.

"To the casino!" Tsunade's spirit instantly returned as she excitedly sprung up.

"I knew it," Hoshikawa said, sitting across from her and taking a sip of water.

"If you've got nothing to do, come with me," Tsunade said, sitting up and crossing her legs. "We'll split the winnings three-seven."

"You get three?" Hoshikawa asked, looking at her bare feet.

"Of course you get three," Tsunade said with a smile.

"Then I'm not going," Hoshikawa said, shaking his head. "You're not being sincere."

"How much do you want?" Tsunade said, frowning.

"At least five," Hoshikawa said, holding up five fingers.

"No way!" Tsunade leaned forward, emphasizing her point. "I'm your sensei!"

"If you weren't my sensei, you wouldn't even get five." Hoshikawa 's eyelid twitched. He was starting to worry about her clothes again.

"You little brat!" Tsunade shot up from the sofa. Hoshikawa had a feeling what was coming and immediately leaned backward. A pale, delicate foot flashed past his face.

"You're quick on your feet," Tsunade said with a huff.

"It's all thanks to your excellent teaching," Hoshikawa said, pausing before adding. "And remember, you never hit a person's face!"

"It seems it's time for some special training, brat," Tsunade said, her eyes narrowing.

"What kind of special training?" A bad feeling rose in Hoshikawa 's heart.

"Training your combat experience," Tsunade said, her expression serious. "In a war, you'll often encounter ninjas stronger than you, so you need to learn how to handle pressure."

"Are you sure you don't just want to hit me?" Hoshikawa asked suspiciously.

"You could say that," Tsunade said, clenching her fist.

"Sensei, you're a jōnin. How can you do something like this?" Hoshikawa asked, chickening out.

"I can," Tsunade said with a charming smile.

"Can I refuse?" Hoshikawa asked, clearing his throat.

"What do you think?" Tsunade's smile widened. She wasn't lying. That kind of training did exist. Of course, the desire to beat up Hoshikawa was also very real. After all, the brat was getting a little too arrogant.

"Fine." Hoshikawa accepted his fate. There was no way to escape the beating now.

"We'll start in two days," Tsunade said, looking triumphant. It was finally her turn to get the better of the kid. This was her victory.

"I'm too tired to move today," Tsunade said, collapsing back onto the sofa.

"Do you want to take a bath? I'll run the water for you." Hoshikawa stood up and asked.

"Thanks, brat," Tsunade said, waving her hand.

Hoshikawa walked into the bathroom, turned on the hot water, and the tub filled up quickly. He went back to the living room, woke up Tsunade, and then went back to his own home.

"Hoshikawa !" Kurenai said, a bright smile on her face when she saw him.

"Are you training?" Hoshikawa noticed the small pond in front of her. Her father, Shinku Yuhi, had dug it out so she could practice her Water Release.

"Yeah," Kurenai said. "I was getting bored being home all by myself."

"Then... will you teach me a Water Release jutsu?" Hoshikawa asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Okay!" Kurenai became energetic. "Which one do you want to learn?"

"Water Release: Water Wall Jutsu," Hoshikawa said after thinking for a moment.

"Alright," Kurenai said, her chin raised slightly as she swayed her head from side to side. "I'll teach you the Second Hokage's Water Release: Water Wall Jutsu."

"Where did you learn that?" Hoshikawa asked, amused by her cute imitation.

"From Gōsuke-san," Kurenai said, tilting her head. "Didn't I sound like a good teacher just now?"

"You did," Hoshikawa said, giving her a nod of approval.

"Say 'Sensei' for me," Kurenai said, putting her hands behind her back and striking a pose.

"Tsunade would beat you up if she heard that." Hoshikawa reached out and patted her on the head.

"Aww," Kurenai said, disappointed. It wasn't often she got a chance to be the senior. Of course, what she really wanted was to be the leader.
