Chapter 1 - Chapter one

INTRODUCTION:

In the vast realm of Elementhia, magic flows through the very air, shaping the land and its people. For centuries, four great nations have flourished, each born from one of the primal elements that govern this world.

To the south lies Pyrosen, the fiery nation of flame and passion. Its people wield the power of fire, commanding blazing infernos and molten earth. Known for their courage and fierce spirits, Pyrosen's citizens are the warriors and defenders of Elementhia.

Across the shimmering seas to the west is Nymara, the water nation, where the tides and rivers respond to its inhabitants. Calm and wise, the Nymarans shape water in all its forms— from gentle streams to roaring storms — and speak to the creatures of the deep.

High above the mountains in the east floats Celiran, the air nation. Its people are swift and clever, gifted with the ability to bend the winds and ride the currents of the sky. Free-spirited and curious, Caelirans are explorers and inventors, forever chasing the horizon.

Nestled in the lush forests and rugged hills of the north is Thalorin, the earth nation. Grounded and steadfast, Thalorin's people draw strength from stone and soil, commanding roots to grow and mountains to tremble. They are the builders and protectors, rooted in tradition and loyalty.

For generations, these four nations lived in harmony, bound by the magic of the elements. But beyond their borders, whispers tell of a forgotten fifth nation—one lost to time and shadow, harboring powers no one dares speak aloud.

This is the world of Elementhia, where young wielders of the elements gather to learn, grow, and discover that the fate of all lies hidden within the balance of fire, water, air, and earth.

BEGGINING OF THE STORY:

Thirteen year old Evelayne had pretty green eyes that sparkled and wavy brown hair that reached to her waist paired with rosy cheeks and freckles. She laid on her bed, her head against her pillow and her eyes staring obliviously at the ceiling as thoughts swarmed through her mind.

How long would she be gone from this place? When could she return? Would it be the same there as it is here?

She was moving to Elementrum Academy, a legendary boarding school where only the best of the best students were allowed in.

She would miss her home so much- not to mention her room, her family and her current school. She was promised she could always come back for the Christmas holidays, but that meant she could only come back here for two months of every twelve months of the year.

"Evelayne! It's time to go, honey!" her mom yelled from downstairs. Evelyayne hopped off her bed and looked around her room for what could be the last time for months.

"Evelayne!"

She shut the door to her room, her hands lingering on the doorknob for a few seconds and hurried downstairs.

Her parents and her five-year-old younger brother, Eron, were waiting for her at the foot of the stairs. Evelayne could spot the tears forming in her mother's eyes.

"Your carriage's outside," her father informed her.

She nodded and willed herself to not burst into tears like Eron already was.

"It's okay, Eron, I'll come back during christmas," she placed her hand on her brother's shoulder as they walked to the front door.

Her luggage and belongings were already in the carriage, so there was only one last thing to do. She squeezed her parents and Eron in a tight embrace.

Her parents wrapped their arms around her tightly, as if trying to soak in every last moment before she left. Evelayne buried her face in her mother's warm embrace, feeling the steady beat of her heart and the familiar scent of lavender.

"We're so proud of you, Evelayne," her mother whispered, her voice thick with emotion. "You're going to do amazing things."

Her father's hand rested gently on her back. "Remember, no matter where you are, we're always with you. And we'll be waiting for you every Christmas."

Eron's small arms clung to her waist, his quiet sobs shaking her as he whispered, "Don't forget me."

Evelayne smiled through the tears welling in her own eyes. "I could never forget you, little brother. I'll come back before you know it."

They held one last long embrace, hearts heavy but full of hope. Then, with a final squeeze, Evelayne stepped back into the carriage, stepping into a new pathway of destiny and the door closed softly behind her.

She took a seat on the plush velvet cushions and waved goodbye to her family one last time from the window as the horses led the carriage away.

The gentle rocking of the wheels over the cobblestones lulled her thoughts, but her mind buzzed with questions—what awaited her at Elementum Academy? Would she find friends, or face challenges too great to bear?

Her thoughts were silenced as the gentle swaying and rocking of the carriage put her mind at ease and led her to into an oblivious dreamless sleep.
