"Wow, when it comes to food, nothing's personal, but when it comes to getting a beating, suddenly everything's personal! You're all such scoundrels! I'll arrest each and every one of you and throw you in jail!"
Sam, still running and yelling loudly, retorted, "Yeah, you'll arrest us and throw us in jail because you don't have the guts to catch anyone else! You've been playing 'house' with Jax Alfonzo for a year! That man slaps you in the face every third day… by getting out!"
Hearing Jax's name, Aiden stopped abruptly and turned to Sam with a furious glare. Sam also stopped as Aiden did. The mention of Jax's name always made Aiden's blood boil.
Aiden pointed a finger at Sam. "Look, Sam, you can say whatever you want, but don't ever mention that man's name in front of me. I find him utterly despicable. Every time I go to arrest him, he has a new assistant. He changes assistants like clothes. I just hate him!"
Caleb walked over to him. "Okay, we won't take his name. Why unnecessarily raise your blood pressure?"
"Thanks, Caleb. You're the only one who understands me," Aiden said with a small smile.
Caleb nodded. "By the way, when are you arresting Jax Alfonzo again?"
Aiden angrily kicked him between the legs.
Caleb let out a cry of pain.
"Are you crazy, Aiden?! I don't even have little kids yet! You just tried to end my lineage! What kind of friend are you?!"
Aiden retorted, irritated, "Stop your drama! I didn't hit you hard enough to endanger your family line!"
Caleb, annoyed, said, "If something had gone wrong with me, remember, I would have ruined everything for you too."
Seeing them quarrel, Ethan stepped in. "That's enough, guys. Enough for today. You can continue tomorrow! Now, everyone get back to your own work."
Aiden and Caleb glared at each other, then averted their gazes. Everyone listened to Ethan. Therefore, at his word, no one spoke further. As soon as Ethan finished speaking, everyone dispersed.
Edward had come to the club, with MJ accompanying him. MJ was still wearing his mask. Edward was downing drink after drink. His mood had been off since his argument with his dad that evening, and MJ had brought him to the club to lighten his spirits.
Someone else had followed them there. Dragon stood some distance away, watching MJ and Edward with burning eyes. Edward had his arm around MJ's neck, a sight that made Dragon seethe. If he could, he would kill MJ right then and there. But he couldn't. If he even tried to hurt MJ, Edward wouldn't hesitate for a second to kill him. However, Dragon wasn't afraid of that. He was afraid of Edward's hatred. Their relationship was already so strained; if he did anything now, the hatred between them would deepen further, which Dragon never wanted. He could tolerate Edward's anger, but not the hatred in his eyes for him.
Edward had had too much to drink and was starting to get intoxicated. MJ tried to stop him from drinking more, but Edward wouldn't listen.
Seeing Edward so drunk, Dragon began to worry. He took a couple of steps towards him, then suddenly stopped, a thought striking him. He was afraid Edward might get angry if he approached. With that thought, he pulled back. Besides, Edward wasn't alone; MJ was with him. Dragon didn't like MJ, but he fully trusted him to take care of Edward.
MJ carefully led Edward out of the club. Their car was waiting outside. MJ laid Edward in the backseat, then quickly got into the front seat. They had come alone; Edward needed some time away from everything, so he hadn't brought anyone else.
MJ started the car and drove off. As soon as their car left, Dragon also departed.
Edward was unconscious.
It was late at night, and there were hardly any cars on the roads. Due to the lack of traffic, MJ was driving the car at high speed. Everything had been going well so far, but MJ felt a nagging doubt, keeping him alert. However, when nothing happened for a long time, MJ relaxed. He hadn't been relaxed for even a minute when a bullet suddenly struck the windshield. MJ immediately tensed. He quickly swerved his car. Just then, another bullet hit the windshield. In no time, a hail of bullets began.
MJ saw that people on motorcycles were on both sides of them. They wore helmets, so their faces were not visible. They were continuously firing at the car. The windshield was weakening under the constant gunfire; if the shooting continued like this for a little longer, the windshield would shatter.
MJ accelerated the car. If he were alone, he could have easily escaped, but Edward was with him, unconscious. He couldn't leave him like that.
As MJ increased the car's speed, the bikers also sped up. MJ was terribly annoyed. He furiously slammed his fist on the steering wheel. "Bloody hell!"
MJ tried to ram them with his car, but it was no use. As soon as he thought of hitting them, they would increase their speed and pull ahead. Firing was already coming from the sides, but MJ's trouble increased when firing started from behind too. MJ looked at Edward, who was resting comfortably without any tension.
MJ looked back and saw three or four more bikes behind them, also firing continuously. MJ increased his speed even more. Then, suddenly, the car's rear-view mirror shattered. MJ quickly turned around, his heart pounding, because Edward was in the back.
His gaze first fell on Edward. Edward was completely safe; the mirror shards hadn't reached him. MJ breathed a sigh of relief. He was about to turn forward when his eyes widened in surprise. A truck was speeding towards them from the front. Before MJ could do anything, the truck was already very close. MJ squeezed his eyes shut. The truck was about to collide with their car when another car swiftly came between them. The truck collided with that car, severely damaging it.
After the collision, the truck quickly reversed, made a U-turn, and drove away. The bikers also left, seeing a convoy of thirty to forty cars approaching from behind. It was no longer safe for them to stay there.
MJ opened his eyes with a jolt. His mouth dropped open at the sight in front of him: Dragon!
MJ quickly got out of his car and rushed to open Dragon's car door. Luckily, Dragon was unharmed. The airbags had deployed at the right time, saving his life; otherwise, it would have been impossible for him to survive such a horrific collision. Dragon had only suffered minor scratches. Dragon got out of his car and immediately went to Edward. Seeing Edward safe and sound, he felt relieved. If Edward had gotten even a scratch today, Dragon would have unleashed a bloodbath.
Dragon began to pull Edward out of the car. Seeing this, MJ went to him. "Dragon, what are you doing?"
MJ interrupting him like that infuriated Dragon, but at that moment, Edward was the most important thing to him, so he controlled his anger. He said calmly, "I'm taking Edward with me!"
"I can take him too!"
Dragon had been trying to control his anger for a long time, but he couldn't anymore. He said in a cold voice, "I've known him longer than you have. You've only known him for two years. I've known him for many years. We have some misunderstandings that will be cleared soon. Don't try to take advantage of this. Edward was mine, and he will remain mine. Stay away from him!" With that, Dragon carried Edward in his arms and walked away.
MJ watched them go, a small smile on his face. Crazy man!
Dragon got into the backseat of his car with Edward. As soon as they settled in, the driver started the car.
Twenty minutes later, the car stopped outside a bungalow. Dragon looked at Edward, who looked very innocent while sleeping. Dragon kissed his forehead, then got out of the car with him and went straight inside. It was completely dark inside the bungalow. Dragon switched on the lights. Dragon lived alone in his house; he didn't like many people around him. Servants would come to the house during the day and clean the entire place because he wouldn't be home then. On days he was home during the day, the house wouldn't be cleaned.
He took Edward to his room. It was completely dark in the room too. Switching on the light, Dragon gently laid him on the bed.
He went to the bathroom and brought a small bucket and a cloth. Wetting the cloth, he used it to clean Edward's body. After cleaning, he put the bucket in the bathroom and took a shower himself. After showering, he came out wearing a T-shirt and loungewear. Although he usually slept in shorts, he wore full clothes so Edward wouldn't feel uncomfortable.
Dragon covered Edward with a sheet and lay down on the sofa. He didn't want to take any chances. If Edward accidentally saw him sleeping beside him, he would create havoc. Dragon absolutely did not want to anger him. He had already taken a huge risk by bringing him here. What the consequences would be, he would only find out in the morning.

**Arthur Kingston** was known as the shark of the corporate world. In a short time, he had built such a large business. No one had expected a middle-class boy to rise so far.
One thing about Arthur Kingston was particularly notable: he never allowed his personal life to be exposed to anyone. He was a very private man.
Arthur had a terrible disposition; the people who worked around him didn't like him at all. He was an extremely arrogant person; he didn't consider anyone above himself, and as for his temper, don't even ask! Not a single one of his assistants lasted more than a week. And how could they? Arthur put an excessive amount of pressure on them. Arthur treated them not as humans but as machines, expected to work day and night without tiring.
Only one person had tolerated Arthur so far: his bodyguard, Daniel. Daniel stayed by Arthur's side like a shadow. Daniel didn't know anything about business, otherwise, he would have done the assistant's job too.
Daniel wasn't just patient by name; he truly possessed immense patience, which was why he had tolerated Arthur for so many years.
Arthur was heading to the inauguration of his new seven-star hotel. Arthur was in the backseat, while Daniel was driving. The car was completely silent because neither Arthur nor Daniel liked to talk. This was also why they had gotten along for so many years. Daniel was Arthur's college friend; he understood him very well.
There wasn't much traffic on the road, so Daniel increased the car's speed.
