Rasol flexed his wings as he tried to adjust to the fading effect of the thirty-ton arrow. A portion of the dungeon wall moved revealing Emery.
"Gramps, you lied to me," Emery said as he walked in.
"Emery! Where is Gob?" Rasol asked but Emery answered with a grin. Immediately, Rasol knew what had become of Gob.
"You made me look like a fool, Gramps. I trusted you. No one wanted you on their floor but I let you use mine and you lie about what you were doing here."
Emery lamented as he stared at the field of dead orcs.
"I am sorry I lied to you, to show how sorry I am. You can have all the bodies," Rasol offered the dead of his battle to Emery.
Emery shrank into a ball of goo. In his slimy form, he extended himself across the hall. A thin layer of goo covered the floor. Like water, it too filled every space he could reach.
The corpses in the room started to slowly deteriorate. After Emery had consumed all the carcasses, even those of the fallen heroes, he put himself back together taking his humanoid form.
"Pack up and leave. I don't want you on my floor anymore," Emery said as he transformed.
"Or else?" Rasol asked and Emery started to swell. He kept getting bigger until Rasol swung a fist. The air pressure from his punch made Emery burst.
He spread everywhere and everything he touched started to dissolve. A few drops of Emery rained down on Rasol. The drops of Emery burnt through Rasol's skin, reducing in size as they did.
Chunks of goo slithered on the ground merging with other small chunks. Rasol watched as smoke rose from his burning skin.
He chuckled just before Emery took his humanoid form.
"Fine, I'll leave," Rasol said and with a flap on his wings, he took to the skies. He flew down to the maze. He slowly walked through the maze as he tried to find his way to the other side.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the maze. The heroes were huddled together.
"We need a plan," Uvilus suggested.
"Rasol or any of his goons can walk in at any time. If that happens we will be at his mercy," he added.
"What do you have in mind?" Yash asked.
"We lay an ambush. We cannot win against him head-on. I think Rye should be bait,"
"No, it is too dangerous."
Yash said and Juvita nodded in agreement.
"We will need all the help we can get. The bait will not be doing any heavy lifting. Making anyone else bait will be a waste of manpower," Uvilus explained.
"I will make sure nothing happens to him. I promise," Uvilus added.
Yash nodded slowly with hesitation.
Bane walked over to Rye who was sitting by a fire with arms wrapped around his legs.
"We need to rest, will you be okay keeping watch?" Bane asked and Rye got up at nodded.
'How can I say no, when they have been very accommodating,' Rye thought.
He took a sword and sat facing the exit of the maze.
Juvita watched him from behind. She chanted casting a protective spell on him. Oh on the other hand cast a beacon spell on him.
This made him stand out. He was easy to smell, any sound he made was louder and he had a glow which made him very visible to enemies.
They are spread out and hid as they waited for Rasol to appear. Rye blinked hard as he tried not to sleep. He sighed and walked to a wall to pass water.
As he peed he caught a glimpse of something a couple of feet away. After peeing he walked over to pick it up.
He immediately noticed it was Yash's head. He dropped it stumbled backward and fell. He ran to alert the others. When he got to the campfire fire Uvilus and the others had their heads mounted on swords.
Rye grabbed his sword, and he turned frantically as he looked around for the culprit.
All of a sudden he felt a sharp pain in his shoulder. He watched as his arm somersaulted mid-air.
He screamed in pain, before him was Rasol. His eyes glowed him the dark, steam blew from his mouth with every breath.
'This is how I die," Rye thought as Rasol walked towards him. He walked backwards keeping his distance.
Rye threw his sword at him and it fell right in front of him. Rasol swung at him again, and conveniently Rye tripped.
Rasol's claws slashed his eyes, instantly blinding him. He fell dropping his medallion.
"Stand still! I want to make it painless," Rasol commanded.
He followed Rye who was crawling on the floor. The medallion suddenly rose from the ground. Rasol watched the floating medallion spin.
He reached out to grab but it shot at him. It burst through his skull and came out the other side and just dropped to the ground.
Rasol hit the ground.
