Chapter 260 – Danzō's Objective
"Wrong? Then hit them back," Yusuke said, his eyes fixed on Naruto.
"I…"
"Yusuke, this—"
Jiraiya stepped forward, intending to stop him.
"What? You can't even lift your hand?"
Yusuke's expression remained cold as steel.
"After someone beats you, you can't even strike back?"
"…I understand, Uncle."
Naruto walked toward the Kumogakure shinobi with no expression on his face, then attacked both of them.
In just a moment, the two were beaten until their bodies were covered in wounds. Under the crushing pressure of Yusuke's Conqueror's Haki, they couldn't resist at all. Samui watched the entire scene with her usual calm, emotionless expression.
"That's enough. Yes… that's more like it."
Yusuke's face softened, a warm smile forming.
"I understand my mistake now, Uncle."
Naruto let out a relieved breath, glad to see Yusuke smiling again.
"Remember today's lesson. You're just an ordinary human. You have no qualification to bear someone else's hatred, let alone judge what's right or wrong in their lives," Yusuke told him.
"Then… what should I do?"
Naruto looked genuinely lost.
"Just do what you believe is right. But don't let other people brainwash you with their ideals. That's foolish, and honestly, a huge nuisance. If you want to change someone's awareness, doing it with Genjutsu is far simpler," Yusuke said casually.
"Oh, right—peace… everyone understanding each other perfectly, huh?"
He let out a small laugh.
"In that case, just rewrite their wills with Genjutsu. Much faster that way. Don't you think so, Jiraiya-nii? If you want, I can help. It's really simple."
Jiraiya's mouth twitched. Of course he knew Yusuke was provoking him.
"Truly very simple."
Yusuke removed the cloth over his eye and turned toward Omoi, activating Genjutsu.
"Naruto, thank you… I understand now!" Omoi exclaimed, his voice suddenly filled with fanatic passion.
"If everyone could grasp suffering at its root, then the world would never know war again! I see it! From now on, peace will be the path I pursue!"
"That's what you wanted, isn't it?"
Yusuke smiled faintly.
"Don't worry, Genjutsu like this can permanently change someone's will. And if I feel like it, I can cast it on a large scale anytime. It drains a bit of energy, but for me? It's nothing."
"I-I get it, Yusuke… I really was too naive," Jiraiya muttered, finally understanding.
Yusuke's approach was rough, even extreme—but in the end, the result wasn't much different from what Naruto had tried earlier. What Naruto did was essentially another form of mental manipulation—just through a different method.
"Uncle, you don't need to do that. Please return him to normal."
Naruto paled as he watched Omoi's behavior.
Seeing that, Yusuke applied another Genjutsu to undo the previous one.
"Go and tell your Raikage this: I'm letting you off this time. If something like this happens again, Kumogakure will no longer have a reason to exist."
Yusuke looked straight at Samui—then vanished from sight.
"Haaah…"
Samui collapsed to the ground, relief flooding across her face.
"He really… isn't like other people," she thought silently.
Realizing she had let her thoughts slip, she quickly stood and faced Jiraiya.
"Jiraiya-sama, this incident was entirely Kumogakure's fault. I'll ensure stricter discipline over them once we return."
She then turned to glare sharply at her subordinates.
"Go."
The three disappeared from Jiraiya and Naruto's view.
"Ero-Sennin… what should I do now?"
Naruto crouched down, his voice trembling.
"Everything I've always believed in… it all makes me hate myself now."
"Naruto, Yusuke already told you. In matters like this, there is no absolute right or wrong. Just do what you believe is correct. He was angry because you risked your life," Jiraiya said gently.
"What you did earlier… all it did was show others that you're easy to push around. It didn't help anyone. The only people you hurt are those who care about you—and that changes nothing."
Jiraiya fully understood why Yusuke was furious.
At the end of the day, humans are selfish.
Hatake Yusuke was no exception.
He didn't want the people he cared about getting hurt.
The lives of others were not his priority.
So seeing Naruto act that way naturally enraged him.
Meanwhile, Samui walked toward Kumogakure with a gloomy face.
Behind her, Karui nudged Omoi.
"U-Um, Boss… that really was our fault," Omoi said carefully.
"Who even was that guy? He felt way too strong," Karui added.
Hearing that, Samui's pent-up frustration exploded.
"Shut your mouths! Do you two have any idea what you almost caused?! Your stupidity nearly led to the destruction of Kumogakure!"
She glared at them fiercely.
"You think you can just offend anyone you like? When we left for Konoha, didn't I tell you NOT to act recklessly?"
Both Karui and Omoi stiffened.
Even when dealing with the Raikage, Samui had never reacted like this.
Was this really the same Samui they knew?
"It's… not that serious, right?" Karui muttered weakly.
"Not that serious?"
Samui's voice cracked with anger.
"Killer Bee warned you two NOT to provoke a certain shinobi from Konoha! Let me make it clear—if that man wanted to destroy Kumogakure, all it would take is a single gesture!"
She pointed at them harshly.
"Even if the Raikage and Killer Bee worked together, along with EVERY ninja in Kumogakure—they still wouldn't be able to damage even a thread of his clothing! Do you understand?! In the Third Great Ninja War, he single-handedly destroyed Sunagakure! And back then, he was even younger than both of you! Tell me—do you think someone like that lacks power?!"
Karui and Omoi went pale with fear.
That achievement was way too terrifying to be real.
"Wait… white hair? White clothes? Eye covering?"
Omoi suddenly remembered something he had dismissed at the time.
"Remember this. In Konoha, there is a white-haired shinobi who wears an eye covering. Do NOT provoke him."
Killer Bee had said that once—without any rap, face deadly serious.
The two had been surprised, but being young, they ignored it.
"Could it be… that guy sensei talked about?"
Karui finally recalled it too.
The bandage Yusuke wore looked very similar to an eye covering.
"Hmph. You two are lucky. If he decided to kill you, Kumogakure would've been dragged down with you."
Samui huffed coldly.
"Huuuh…"
Both of them exhaled in trembling relief.
They had truly brushed past death.
"Let's go. I'll report everything to the Raikage."
Elsewhere, Yusuke stood before a blonde woman, staring at her with unusual seriousness.
The smile on his face was something he had never shown before—gentle and genuine, making his handsome features look even more striking.
"What are you staring at, idiot?"
Tsunade tilted her head upward, meeting his gaze.
Her heart warmed despite her words.
"Just admiring a beautiful woman," Yusuke replied without hesitation.
"Hmph."
Tsunade scoffed playfully, glancing at him from the corner of her eye.
"For the upcoming Five Kage Summit, let Kakashi accompany you. I have something I need to take care of," Yusuke said.
"Fine. But there's something you need to know."
Tsunade's tone grew serious.
"Danzō will be attending too. I don't know what his motives are."
"It's fine. Just let him do whatever he wants."
Yusuke shrugged, unconcerned.
In truth, he had already guessed Danzō's purpose—he intended to use Kotoamatsukami to manipulate Tsunade or one of the other Kage.
But what was the point?
Long ago, Yusuke had already planted his ocular power inside Tsunade's consciousness.
With his Mangekyō Sharingan, Danzō stood absolutely no chance of breaking through.
