"I can't say I like it personally, but when it comes to your tastes, Sensei… I think just about everyone in Konoha already knows," Shino said calmly.
Though he'd been surprised to learn that Yusuke had connections with the Raikage, considering the man's immense power, it didn't seem strange at all.
"Yusuke-sensei, then… why did you call us here? Akamaru's hungry," Kiba asked while patting Akamaru's head.
"Woof woof! (Hungry, hungry…)" Akamaru barked in agreement.
"Food is important," Yusuke replied with a faint smile.
"But before we eat, let's begin. Today, the three of you will fight me. I want to see how far your abilities have come. Go on—show me what you've got. Don't disappoint me."
"And what's the condition for passing?" Shino asked.
"Hmm, I didn't prepare anything specific," Yusuke said as he pulled out a small container from his pocket. Inside was a bright green mochi filled with cream—Zunda Daifuku.
"Whoever manages to touch this daifuku… passes. As a reward, I'll treat you to an all-you-can-eat barbecue. How's that sound?"
"And if we fail to touch it?" Kiba asked.
Even though he was confident, he still wanted to know the consequences. Besides, this challenge sounded far easier than the tests Kurenai had given them in the past.
He wasn't the same person he once was. His strength had grown tremendously. Even if Yusuke was powerful, touching a small piece of mochi couldn't be that hard, right?
If Yusuke knew what Kiba was thinking, he would've laughed himself silly. That daifuku was in his hand—touching it was harder than reaching the heavens themselves.
"All right then! Get ready to pay for our feast, Sensei!" Kiba declared enthusiastically.
"Sure," Yusuke said casually. "Start whenever you like. You can attack me however you want."
"Any method's fine? You might get hurt, you know," Kiba warned confidently.
"Don't worry. I'm invincible," Yusuke said with absolute certainty.
Shino and Hinata didn't doubt those words. Shino because of his cautious nature, and Hinata because she'd heard plenty of stories about Yusuke from her father.
A man powerful enough to force the Hyūga clan elders to break their own family rules just to avoid offending him. Even the Hokage couldn't do that.
"I'll go first!" Kiba shouted, dashing forward.
He started with simple taijutsu, testing his opponent's defense. Yusuke tilted his body slightly, dodging the punch effortlessly before countering with a quick kick. Kiba crossed his arms just in time to block it.
"Ninja Art: Beast Mimicry — Four Legs Technique!" Kiba crouched low, his posture shifting to that of a feral predator. His claws extended, his muscles tensed, and he lunged forward with explosive speed that shook the ground.
But Yusuke simply extended his right arm, caught Kiba by the wrist, and flung him aside like a rag doll.
"Beast Mimicry: Man Beast Clone!" Kiba shouted.
Akamaru transformed into a perfect copy of him, and the two attacked simultaneously. Yusuke, eyes closed, dodged every strike with lazy grace.
"Gatling Fang!" they roared together.
The duo spun like twin drills, tearing through the air from opposite directions. Yusuke raised one hand to meet the attack head-on.
"What?!" Kiba gasped. It was like slamming into a mountain.
"Incredible… he stopped Kiba's full-speed attack with just one hand!" Shino muttered, unable to hide his astonishment.
"Got any other tricks, kid?" Yusuke asked, slipping his hand back into his pocket. A moment later, he delivered a light kick that sent both Kiba and Akamaru flying.
Shino quickly summoned a swarm of insects to catch them mid-air, cushioning their fall.
"Thanks, Shino…" Kiba wiped a smear of blood from his lip, his eyes burning with determination.
Shino nodded. The three exchanged glances. Then Kiba and Hinata charged forward together while Shino stayed behind.
"Akamaru, let's go!" Kiba shouted. Akamaru reverted to his normal form, spinning rapidly before spraying a sticky liquid in every direction.
"This brat…" Yusuke sighed. Though he possessed absolute defense abilities, he deliberately disabled them to make the test fairer.
"Shinra Tensei."
A ripple of repulsive force erupted outward, deflecting Akamaru's liquid attack and sending it splattering back toward Kiba.
"Eight Trigrams: Rotation!" Hinata spun gracefully, forming a chakra barrier that shielded Kiba from the backlash.
"Ugh… failed again," Kiba muttered, gritting his teeth. Still, he didn't blame Akamaru for it.
"It's fine. Akamaru, track the object in his hand!" Kiba ordered.
"Woof woof!"
"Inuzuka Style: Fang Wolf Fang — Two-Headed Wolf!"
Kiba fused with Akamaru, transforming into a massive, two-headed wolf that let out a thunderous roar.
The beast lunged, claws flashing.
"Eight Trigrams: Vacuum Palm!" Hinata struck from the other side, sending a shockwave toward Yusuke.
Yusuke smiled faintly. With a single finger, he stopped Kiba's claws in mid-swipe. Hinata's palm struck his torso—and he didn't even budge.
"Fang Wolf Fang!" The dual-headed wolf spun again, faster and stronger than before, twisting like a tornado that chased after him.
Yusuke shifted his stance slightly backward to avoid the first hit, but the spinning beast curved instantly to pursue him.
Completely unfazed, Yusuke raised one leg—and kicked.
The strike landed cleanly, shattering the transformation. The giant wolf split apart, reverting back into Kiba and Akamaru, both tumbling across the ground.
"Incredible…" Kiba breathed heavily, his chakra drained. But his gaze stayed locked on Yusuke.
"His body's too strong… even without chakra, he repelled your best attack," Shino observed quietly.
"So… we did it?" Kiba asked, ignoring the comment.
"Yes," Shino said simply.
"Good." Kiba sighed, finally catching his breath.
"Let's finish this, Yusuke-sensei," Shino said.
"Oh? You mean… with your insects?" Yusuke replied with a knowing smirk.
He withdrew his right hand from his pocket. Resting on his palm was a compact, writhing sphere—composed entirely of Shino's insects.
"What… impossible…" Shino froze, disbelief washing over his usually composed expression.
"I've been aware of your movements from the very beginning," Yusuke said with a small laugh. "So, I took control of your insects—and fed you false sensory data."
"No… impossible! Even among the Aburame clan, it's unheard of for anyone to control another's insects!" Shino's voice shook for the first time. His calm demeanor was gone.
"Oh, not control," Yusuke corrected softly. "The better term would be… dominate. It might be difficult for others, but for me—something like this is effortless."
The power came from his Rinnegan—the ability to impose his will upon surrounding life forms.
Though there were limits to how long he could use it, and it couldn't affect humans with strong enough spiritual resistance, as long as the gap in power was vast—as wide as the heavens and earth—resistance was meaningless.
It was like comparing a basic three-tomoe Sharingan to a Mangekyō. The difference was absolute.
And under such a difference… this ability truly stood as one of Hatake Yusuke's invincible powers.
