Chapter 89 – Uchiha Madara
"Brother, please train me! I want to become stronger!"
Kakashi's voice rang out one early morning as he stood in front of Hatake Yusuke, eyes filled with unshakable resolve.
Yusuke studied him with a steady gaze, then gave a small nod.
"Not bad. But… not yet. Your heart still isn't calm."
"…Then what should I do, Brother?"
Kakashi asked, a hint of confusion flickering in his eyes.
Yusuke didn't answer right away. Instead, his gaze shifted slightly—to Kakashi's left eye.
"Forget that for now. Tell me… what are your plans for your left eye?"
Kakashi fell silent. Slowly, he raised a hand to touch the eye—Obito's eye—his expression filled with pain. But after a moment, he looked up and met Yusuke's gaze with clarity.
"I'll use this eye—Obito's eye—to see this cruel world for what it truly is. And with my blade, I'll cut through all the darkness within it."
Yusuke's expression softened, pleased by the answer.
"Good. Don't ever forget what you just said."
"Before we begin your training, let me properly reinstall your eye,"
Yusuke said gently.
Back when it had first happened, the situation had been too urgent—Rin's medical abilities were still limited. Now it was time to do it right.
"Room."
A spherical energy field shimmered into existence, enveloping the two brothers.
With practiced hands, Yusuke carefully removed Kakashi's Sharingan eye and began the operation. Every movement was precise, controlled. He didn't just reattach the eye—he used the Blue Flames of Revival to reconnect nerves, muscle tissue, and cellular pathways. He even optimized Kakashi's chakra circulation to better adapt to the transplanted Uchiha eye.
Kakashi still wouldn't be able to deactivate the Sharingan, but now—its chakra consumption was drastically reduced. While inactive, the drain was nearly nonexistent. Even when activated, the chakra flow was no more demanding than it would be for an average Uchiha.
Still, because the eye wasn't originally his, Kakashi would never be able to draw out its full potential—especially the power of the Mangekyō Sharingan.
When the procedure was done, Kakashi exhaled deeply, feeling an immense weight lift from his body. The constant drain on his chakra was gone. In fact, it felt like his reserves had even grown.
But when he turned and saw the faint weariness in Yusuke's eyes, he realized something.
That one-minute operation had clearly consumed a vast amount of energy.
Kakashi knew just how strong his brother was.
Their father, Sakumo, once said, "If I had to fight Yusuke… I doubt I could withstand even a single blow."
And that came from a man said to rival Hiruzen Sarutobi in strength.
Now with the Sharingan, Kakashi could sense it even more clearly.
If a Hokage's chakra was like a mighty river… then Yusuke's was a boundless ocean.
"…How does it feel?" Yusuke asked casually.
"Incredible. The constant chakra leakage is gone," Kakashi replied honestly.
"Good. Remember—this eye is your bond with Obito. You must become stronger. That's the only way he'll be able to rest in peace."
"I understand, Brother."
"Here."
Yusuke tossed him a wooden sword.
"What's this for?"
Kakashi asked, puzzled.
"From now on, stop using Habakiri. Train with this wooden sword. Only when you've achieved true unity between your blade and your spirit… will you be allowed to wield Habakiri again."
"…So you want me to stop relying on my sword?"
Yusuke smiled faintly and nodded.
He knew Kakashi would understand without needing more explanation.
"Watch closely. I'll demonstrate. How much you grasp… depends on you."
Yusuke raised the wooden sword in front of him. His eyes closed, and his breathing slowed.
For a brief moment—he became one with the sword.
Then…
"Slash."
His eyes opened. An overwhelming aura surged from him, so sharp it seemed to cut through the very air.
He swung.
A crescent-shaped wave of energy burst from the wooden blade, tearing through the earth and carving a deep trench in the ground.
Kakashi stood speechless.
But then… he fell silent, eyes narrowing in thought.
Yusuke smiled, satisfied.
When Kakashi opened his eyes again, night had already fallen.
"Not bad. As my brother… your progress is impressive. The rest is up to you."
"…Got it," Kakashi replied with quiet determination.

The Third Great Ninja War had come to an end.
The shinobi world returned to peace—at least, for now.
In a dark, quiet cave…
The elderly Uchiha Madara lay atop a large stone bed. Nearby stood a thin young man with one arm missing, along with several strange humanoid creatures.
"…So he's finally arrived,"
Madara murmured, eyes slowly opening.
"Arrived? Who?"
A mocking voice echoed from the corner.
"Silence."
Black Zetsu's raspy voice cut through the air.
And just then—
A figure emerged from the void.
A young man with silver hair stepped casually into the cave, as if space itself had bent to let him through. His features were handsome, his gaze sharp but composed.
Hatake Yusuke.
"Hey there," he said with a relaxed smile.
Everyone in the cave, except Madara, turned in shock.
Obito, lying on the stone slab, remained unconscious.
"…So you're the one they call the 'New God of the Shinobi World'?"
Madara asked, his tone amused.
"Seems like it,"
Yusuke replied with a smile.
"Didn't think even you would know about me, Uchiha Madara."
"You know who I am?"
"Of course. Eyes like yours… only one person in history has ever possessed them—Uchiha Madara."
"Hahaha! That's right! I am Madara Uchiha."
The old man laughed heartily.
"To think, beyond me and Hashirama… someone else has reached this level. What's your name, boy?"
"Hatake Yusuke."
"Well then, Yusuke. I'll remember that name."
Madara smirked.
"How about it? Want to change the world together? A filthy, hypocritical world like this… deserves to be reborn."
"Nah. Not interested."
Yusuke shrugged.
"Whatever this world becomes… isn't my concern."
"…I see."
Madara narrowed his eyes.
"Then what brings you here?"
His tone was calm, but deep down—even Madara felt a hint of unease. In his current state, without the Rinnegan, he knew he couldn't match this boy.
Only someone like Madara—someone who once stood at the true peak—could sense the abyssal depth of Yusuke's power.
"…I just wanted to see it with my own eyes. The legendary power of the Uchiha. And yeah… it's terrifying. Part of me even wants to fight you."
"Hahahaha! I like you!"
Madara's laughter shook the cave.
"If we were born in the same era, we might've been the best of friends."
Yusuke chuckled quietly.
In truth, he admired Madara. Back in his past life, even just watching him in the anime had been enough to give him chills.
But the mood shifted.
Without warning, Madara's killing intent exploded.
A violent wave of chakra erupted from his body, filling the entire cave with overwhelming pressure.
Yusuke responded in kind.
He unleashed his Conqueror's Haki, and the two invisible forces collided in midair.
The very air around them trembled as if it were cracking.
Despite holding the upper hand, Yusuke was genuinely impressed.
Madara—just by intent alone—had resisted his Conqueror's Haki.
