Chapter 6 - Clash with the Village Elders

Chapter 6 – Clash with the Village Elders

"You...!"

Shimura Danzo's angry voice echoed through the room.

But before he could continue, a single sharp glare from Sarutobi Hiruzen was enough to silence him. Danzo backed off with a low growl.

"Moonwalk is a technique that uses rapid stepping in the air or on solid ground to generate thrust," Yusuke continued calmly. "The principle is similar to 'Shave', but used mid-air. That's why I won't demonstrate it indoors."

Danzo's eyes gleamed with greed.

A technique that allowed aerial maneuvering—something that even Sasuke Uchiha wouldn't achieve without Naruto's help and his Truth-Seeking Balls.

"Iron Body is a defensive technique," Yusuke went on. "By tightening every muscle and precisely controlling blood flow, the user's body hardens like steel. When combined with chakra flow, its defense increases drastically. The downside is that your body becomes immobile while it's active."

"—Father, a little help please?"

Sakumo silently pulled out a kunai and stabbed it into Yusuke's arm.

Cling!

The metallic sound echoed through the office. Only a faint white mark appeared on Yusuke's skin—while the tip of the kunai… snapped clean off.

"Next is Tempest Kick—a high-speed strike that releases compressed air blades, similar to Wind Release techniques. Due to its wide-range effect, I won't demonstrate it here."

"And finally, the hardest technique to master—Paper Art," Yusuke emphasized, correcting his tone. "It relies on total relaxation of the body and heightened sensitivity to air currents. Like a sheet of paper riding the wind, your body moves in sync with incoming attacks."

"I'd like to request an ANBU for demonstration," Yusuke added.

Hiruzen nodded. "Aka Kitsune, assist him."

"Yes, Hokage-sama," replied the masked ANBU who stepped forward.

"Hit me with everything you've got. Don't hold back," Yusuke said calmly.

The ANBU lunged. The first punch was dodged with a simple shoulder dip.

A second strike aimed at Yusuke's abdomen—he stepped back half a pace.

The attacks kept coming, faster and heavier—but Yusuke dodged them all effortlessly, even with his eyes closed. His movements looked absurd… but not a single blow landed.

"Enough," Hiruzen finally spoke, visibly impressed.

"You possess talent that might even surpass your father's," he said sincerely.

"Thank you for the compliment, Hokage-sama," Yusuke replied humbly, not showing even a hint of arrogance.

"Yusuke... may I ask something of you?" Hiruzen asked, stroking his beard.

A request from the Hokage? From a Genin like me? This won't be a small favor, Yusuke thought, but his face remained composed.

"What would you like of me, Hokage-sama?"

"If possible... would you be willing to entrust the Konoha Six Styles to the village, so that they may be passed on?"

Yusuke gave a thoughtful look, pretending to be conflicted.

Heh. You sly old fox. You really thought I'd just hand it over for free? Dream on.

Danzo, who had held back until now, suddenly barked:

"Boy! Hand over those techniques immediately! Or do you want to be branded a traitor to Konoha?!"

He was desperate. If he could mass-produce the Six Styles in ROOT, his private force would become unstoppable—and the Hokage seat would no longer be out of reach.

"Danzo-sama," Sakumo's voice cut in coldly, "don't you think you're being too harsh toward my son?"

"Hmph. I'm simply asking him to contribute to the village."

Even as a Kage-level shinobi, Danzo knew better than to cross the White Fang carelessly. Among the elites, there was a hierarchy of strength—and Sakumo stood near the top.

Yusuke raised an eyebrow.

"If refusing to hand over techniques makes one a traitor, then shouldn't every clan in Konoha be required to surrender their secret jutsu as well? What about the Nara, Akimichi, and Yamanaka clans?"

Danzo couldn't answer.

He knew full well—clan secrets were the foundation of each family. Even ROOT couldn't access them. Its members were brainwashed to ensure they never revealed anything.

"Danzo-sama," Yusuke continued smoothly, "didn't you say you'd sacrifice anything for Konoha?"

"Of course! I'd give my life for the village!" Danzo declared without hesitation.

"Then I too am willing to share my techniques—on one condition: the village must first request every clan to give up their secret jutsu. If that's the standard, I have no problem complying."

The room went silent.

Danzo clenched his jaw. Hiruzen gave a wry smile.

"Enough. There's no need for an argument," Hiruzen finally said. "Yusuke, we won't take it for free. You may choose a jutsu from the Scroll of Seals in exchange."

With that, Hiruzen produced a large scroll—a replica of the original Forbidden Scroll.

Yusuke unrolled it and began scanning through the entries.

It contained many A-rank jutsu—Multiple Shadow Clone, advanced elemental techniques—but no S-class techniques like Reanimation Jutsu or Flying Thunder God.

Heh… just a fake copy. Even the Second Hokage's personal collection had better stuff than this, Yusuke thought, biting back a scoff.

Eventually, one jutsu caught his eye:

Bringer-of-Darkness Technique—a Genjutsu created by Tobirama Senju that erased the target's ability to see.

"I'll take this—Bringer-of-Darkness," Yusuke said. "Now then, Hokage-sama... which one of the Six Styles do you want in return?"

Before Hiruzen could respond, Koharu interrupted.

"All of them, of course! You didn't think we'd be satisfied with just one, did you?"

Yusuke gave her a disgusted look.

"With decision-making like that, how are you even a village advisor?" he said, tone biting.

"What did you just—?!"

Sakumo facepalmed. Why didn't he just ask for a forbidden technique instead…?

Still, he understood. The elders were being unreasonable. Each technique in the Six Styles was comparable to an A-rank jutsu—asking for all six in exchange for one scroll was plain robbery.

Sakumo released a sliver of chakra, and the room's atmosphere turned heavy.

"He's still a child," Sakumo said coldly. "Watch your tone."

"Hokage-sama," Yusuke said firmly, "if each of my techniques is equal to one scroll from the Sealed Book, why should I give up two... or six for just one in return?"

Hiruzen stared at him for a moment—then chuckled softly.

"Then... not interested in any other jutsu?" he asked.

"No. The rest are ordinary. My father's techniques are better. Honestly... Hokage-sama, is this really all the Sealed Book contains? Most of them aren't any stronger than my own style."

"Ha... ha... ha..." Hiruzen laughed dryly, trying to brush it off.

"They're restricted for a reason. Some are too dangerous to release."

He then handed Yusuke a training scroll containing Bringer-of-Darkness.

"Very well... in exchange, we'll take Moonwalk," Hiruzen said.

Yusuke quickly wrote down the training method for Moonwalk.

Heh. You think Moonwalk alone is enough to deduce Shave? Not a chance. These aren't just physical techniques—they were granted directly by the system.

Then, unexpectedly, Danzo spoke again.

"Sakumo... let Kakashi join ROOT."

Sakumo turned sharply, his expression turning cold.

"Absolutely not."

"For the sake of Konoha, Sakumo. This is for the village."

But Sakumo's eyes narrowed.

To join ROOT meant erasing your name, your past, your emotions—living only to follow orders in the shadows.

How could he possibly subject his son to that fate?

"ROOT operates to support the village from the darkness," Danzo insisted.

But a firm voice cut through his words:

"I refuse."

It wasn't Sakumo who spoke.

It was Yusuke.
