Quick Guidebook to the world

[Dear Readers,

Heeeey! Although everything will naturally be revealed inside the chapters, I thought it would be nice to write some common info down in one place. Think of this as a quick guidebook to the world you're about to enter.]

⚔️ Eclipse Trial:

Civilians step into the trial. The death rate is 85–90%. Out of 10, maybe 2 returns–awakened with a Dominion. They are called Hunters.

⚔️ Dominions (Hunter Powers):

Hunters awaken supernatural powers called Dominions after surviving the Eclipse Trials. There are total of 9 Dominions. Each Hunter only has one Dominion but they can grow stronger with time.

»Types of Dominions (Total 9, Ranked by Strength):

1. Temporal – Masters of speed. They move faster than the eye can follow, striking before enemies can react.

2. Elemental – Command fire, lightning, frost, storms–raw destruction.

3. Mindbound – Psychic powers: Powers of the mind. Push, pull, blast, or read an enemy's intent.

4. Bloodline – Mutate their bodies with claws, scales, regeneration, monstrous strength.

5. Phantom – Tricksters. Hide in shadows, create illusions, scare monsters.

6. Construct – They forge weapons, shields, or armor out of their Dominion energy.

7. Resonance – Sound and vibration manipulators. They can rupture eardrums, shatter stone, collapse buildings or send shockwaves through a Ravager's body.

8. Chains – Summon spectral chains to bind, tear or restrain foes.

9. Hollow – Considered the weakest.

»Each Dominion has:

• A basic form (weak abilities).

• A growth path (stronger stages).

• A limit (what Hunters in this dominion can achieve).

»Hunter Ranks:

1. Novice – Barely awakened.

2. Initiate – Can control basic powers without backlash.

3. Warden – After 50 confirmed kills. Recognized as reliable.

4. Breaker – Capable of killing Heralds (god-corrupted humans).

5. Dreadbane – Slayer of Ravager Lords.

6. Paragon – Dominion begins evolving into unique form.

7. Eclipsebearer – Cleared a Tier V and VI dungeon.

8. Voidforged – Body and Dominion Sharpen to near-mythic form

9. Ashbound – Able to challenge Herald commanders.

10. ??? (Unknown) – The last step has never been reached. No one ever returned from a Tier IX dungeon.

Each monster slain grants a fragment of essence (about 1% of its strength). Stronger monsters = faster growth.

⚔️Fragments:

•Tiny shards of Dominion essence left behind when a Ravager dies.

•Think of them like XP drops in a game – small, steady progress.

⚔️Soul Cores:

•The heart-crystals inside stronger Ravagers (Heralds, Lords, high-tier dungeon bosses).

•Big, juicy loot. Much rarer than fragments.

•Some cores can even be crafted into weapons or artifacts.

BUT… Soul Cores are dangerous. Some are korrupted. Using them carelessly might warp you into a Herald yourself. So they are jackpot but risky.

If a Hunter is greedy, ignore the warning signs or absorbs a forbidden core then congratulations, they're no longer human. They become half Heralds.

⚔️ Eclipse Scanners:

• Big guilds built Eclipse Scanners (machines that measure korruption).

• Small guilds? They usually can't afford it, so they risk it.

⚔️Heralds

•Heralds are Hunters who got korrupted by dark fragments or tainted cores.

•They lose their humanity, their Dominion mutates and a Banished god uses them as its puppet and commander.

•Basically: fallen Hunters → boss monsters.

They still remember fighting styles, tactics, and sometimes even bits of their past – which makes them terrifying opponents.

⚔️Monsters (Ravagers + Others)

•Creatures born from Banish god's flesh.

• Ravagers are the main monsters. They come from both dungeons and spit out of banished god's mouth.

• Some Ravagers are small like wolves, some big like buildings and some rare ones mutate into terrifying forms.

Every Ravager has something inside it when killed → Soul Core or Monster Parts.

⚔️Monster Classes:

1. Gyash Hounds – dog-like, move in packs, sharp fangs. Weak alone, dangerous in groups.

2. Mire Spitters – frog-like Ravagers that spit acid, melt armor.

3. Ironclaws – big gorilla-type Ravagers, hit hard but slow.

4. Nightmoths – flying monsters.

5. Bone Titans – giant beasts.

6. Dreadcallers – humanoid Ravagers that can scream to summon more monsters.

⚔️Loot (what drops when monsters die)

• Soul Cores.

• Monster Parts → claws, hides, bones, wings.

Used by scientists to create new weapons/armor.

Some parts are rare and sold in black markets.

• Treasure Relics (only in dungeons) → old-world artifacts infused with Eclipse energy.

Can give special boosts or be turned into gear.

⚔️ Weapons (created from monsters)

Scientists and Hunters work together to make weapons from Ravagers. Examples:

• Soulblades → swords powered by Soul Cores, glowing when charged.

• Pulse Rifles → guns fueled by monster blood, fire plasma-like shots.

• Chitin Armor → armor made from Ravager shells, extremely tough.

• Echo Bombs → grenades made with Nightmoth wings, explode into poison clouds.

• Bonebreakers → heavy hammers made from Titan bones.

⚔️Systems (how Hunters grow stronger)

Hunters grow by:

1. Killing Ravagers → absorbing Soul Energy.

2. Using Soul Cores → either sell them or crush them to strengthen themselves.

3. Relics → found in Dungeons.

4. Treasures & Fruits → Weird Eclipse-grown items. Some heal, some boost stats, some permanently strengthen a Dominion… if your body can handle it.

🔮The Eclipse System itself is mysterious–only Hunters can see their own growth (like levels, skills, stats). Civilians don't have it.

⚔️Dungeons (Eclipse Fractures)

Tears in reality created by the Banished god's influence. Inside are twisted worlds filled with monsters and relics. Hunters enter dungeons to claim treasures, relics and power that can boost their Dominion. But if a dungeon isn't cleared in time, it punishes them–draining strength, lowering ranks or erasing them entirely.

Tiers:

Tier I – Basic (healing herbs).

Tier II – Bloodpits

Tier III – Shadow Labyrinths (maze-like, illusions)

Tier IV – Bone Realms (skeleton armies)

Tier V – Abyssal Depths

Tier VI – Starfall Ruins

Tier VII – Eternal Spire

Tier VIII – Black Sun Citadel

Tier IX– Godshards (linked to the Gods themselves, almost no survivors).

⚔️Guild Count & Numbers

• When the Eclipse came, millions awakened → but most died early.

• After 3 years, around 70,000 Hunters remain worldwide.

⚔️Special Terms You'll See

Memory Shreds → Little vision fragments left behind in dungeons.

World Scars → Places on Earth permanently destroyed/changed by Banished gods.

Dominion Resonance → When two Hunters fight together, their powers can combine.

• Some combos boost each other → Fire + Wind = Firestorm.

• Some clash and cause backlash → Shadow + Light = explosion.

• This makes battles more about teamwork, not just solo fights.

Blood Arenas → Arenas where Hunters fight each other (or Ravagers) for treasures and glory.

• Shows how some humans treat the apocalypse as profit and sport.

Legacy Weapons → Super rare weapons made from powerful Ravager or Herald remains. Each one is unique.

Eclipse Anomalies → Random disasters that strike the world, different from dungeons.

• Time loops, nightmare zones, rivers of blood, etc.

Forbidden Evolutions → When a Dominion mutates in a way it shouldn't… usually dangerous.

Korruption → The slow, twisted process of a Hunter or civilian turning into a Herald.

[💬 Ending Note:

Okay, that's some of the "common info" you'll need to survive here!

There's waaay more of course but I can't spill it all now or else I'd be spoiling the fun (and trust me some secrets are meant to be uncovered slowly by living through the battles, feeling the danger and walking beside the characters.)

I've already written the prologue tooo, including all the background deets. I'll add it once everything is revealed.

Alright, that's all from me. I js hope y'all enjoy my novel.]
