Chapter 9 - BLUE BLOOD – EPISODE 9

James woke up in the factory's main hall, dimly lit by a haunting orange glow. He looked around, but his eyes were tied—restrained against a pillar. He sat helplessly on the ground... but then noticed a sharp piece of glass nearby. He stretched his foot toward it.

James: "Come on... come on..."

His foot finally reached the glass. Carefully, he brought it to his hands and began sawing at the ropes. But before he could free himself, a woman's voice echoed through the empty hall. He couldn't see her, but he recognized the voice. It was her. The spider monster. Cloe's mother.

Catherine (voice): "Do you remember this place? Exactly twelve years ago... you and your team killed a spider monster. Just like me."

James kept cutting through the rope.

James: "Yes. I remember."

Catherine: "Then tell me why you killed us. We never harmed anyone after we got these powers... until that day."

Twelve years ago...

Catherine, her husband, and their young daughter stood outside the same factory.

Catherine: "Sweetie, take all the fruit you can carry. We need to save some for the future."

Daughter: "Mom... why can't we just go to the city? It's been two years since I saw it. Daddy, please tell her..."

Father: "Sweetie, we can't. Not with our powers. People would be afraid of us."

Daughter: "But we can control them, right? Like shooting webs, climbing walls... and turning our eyes red—"

Catherine: "That's enough, sweetie. We can't go. It's too dangerous for us outside the city."

The daughter lowered her head sadly. Catherine gently cupped her cheek.

Catherine: "It's okay, sweetheart. We'll go somewhere else. Somewhere safe."

Father: "Don't worry, my little princess. When we get home, we'll play hide and seek, just like always."

They walked back into the factory. Catherine headed into another room while the father and daughter laid out a blanket and sorted through their fruit. Then the daughter tugged at her father's hand.

Daughter: "Daddy, you count first. I'll hide!"

Father: "Of course, sweetie."

As he began counting, the daughter climbed a tall tree with thick branches. Halfway up, a scared man emerged from the shadows—his eyes locked on her.

Man: "Don't move! Or I'll shoot!"

He fired twice into the sky, then aimed at the girl. Before he could pull the trigger, the father struck him in the face with a rock. The man collapsed, dead. A scream echoed deep in the forest. The father panicked. He grabbed his daughter, the man's gun, and ran back into the factory. He quickly hid the weapon behind a flowerpot. Rain poured heavily outside. Inside, he explained everything to Catherine. The family decided to hide in the ceiling. They placed the man's body in another room, just beneath their hiding spot. Then came the moment. James and his team burst into the factory—mistaking the situation. Then james blew the monster's head apart. From the ceiling above, the father's red eyes faded.

Father: "I can't controll that dead body. They won't stop until they find us..."

Catherine: What do we do? We can't escape. The place is surrounded!

Father: "I have an idea..."

Father looks at the daughter

Father: "I love you, sweetie. You are the best daughter in the world."

Catherine: "No, no, no—wait dont do this!"

Then, the shot from episode 4. The police opened fire on him, mistaking him for a monster. After a while, Catherine emerged from hiding. A small cut on her leg dripped blood onto the floor. She slipped through the window and escaped. But her daughter stayed behind, crying for the father who died in that very room. Then James entered. He raised his weapon. The daughter ran, climbing the tree her mother once used. Drops of her mother's blue blood from the cut soaked into the wood as she climbed.

Present Day...

Catherine stepped into the light before James.

Catherine: "I guess now you remember. Because of you, I lost my husband. And your friend's father."

James's eyes widened in horror.

James: "Friend's father?"

Scene change – James's house

Cloe: "Lucy, can I have some water?"

Lucy: "Yeah, of course. Your throat must be dry after all that talking."

Lucy walked into the kitchen. Unseen behind her, Cloe followed.

Scene change – factory

Catherine: "Yes, your friend Cloe... she is my real daughter. She has the spider powers too."

Scene change – house

Lucy reached for a glass and began to fill it with water. Behind her, Cloe quietly picked up a knife from the kitchen counter.

Catherine (voice): "And now, your wife... and your daughter... will die tonight. Just like you took my husband."
