Chapter 39 - Chapter 38 – The Thermodynamics of Tea and the Sanctuaries of the World

True mastery of power is not proven by destroying a planet. Destruction is easy; one only needs to apply brute force until atomic bonds collapse. For the thirteen avatars of the Architect, true omnipotence revealed itself through harmony with the world—using a force capable of erasing entire continents solely to heat the breakfast kettle to the perfect temperature without melting the metal.

This philosophy was not born in some shadowy dojo, but in the most beautiful and inaccessible corners of the multiverse. By traveling to places where death lurked at every precipice, they discovered landscapes of such overwhelming beauty that their mentality changed forever. They realized that life and nature were fragile treasures. Destroying a forest during a fight was not merely a logistical failure; it was a crime against the peace they so deeply longed for.

Dragon Ball Universe – Earth, The Crystal Summit of Yunzabit

Alpha was not on just any mountain. Without using Ki flight so as not to disturb the air currents, he had climbed the Crystal Summit in the inhospitable Yunzabit region. It was a peak that pierced the stratosphere, surrounded by an endless sea of white clouds and crowned with glaciers that refracted sunlight into iridescent prisms. The air was so thin and pure it would burn the lungs of a normal human, yet the silence there was absolute—sacred.

Sitting before that landscape, a view normally reserved for gods, Alpha learned to value the stillness of life. That immense and lethal beauty forged within him a vow never to destroy nature with unnecessary energy blasts.

In front of him, resting upon rocks polished by millennia of wind, stood an old cast-iron kettle.

Beside him floated Pao, the shapeshifting fox, reading a book through his monocle.

"Master Alpha," Pao said calmly, "if you miscalculate the photonic compression again, the kettle will vaporize and we'll be left without jasmine tea in the middle of this frozen paradise."

Alpha yawned and scratched the back of his neck while watching the sunrise refract through the ice.

"Last week I vaporized a hill because Ki leaked through my pores. This time, the Turtle Doctrine is calibrated to respect the environment. Watch."

Alpha adopted no martial stance. He simply extended his right index finger toward the base of the kettle, about ten centimeters away. Closing his eyes, he mentally compressed the destructive wave of a Kamehameha down to microscopic scale.

"Micro-Kamehameha," he whispered.

There was no blinding flash to disturb the glacier. Only a tiny, thread-thin strand of pale blue light emerged from his fingertip and touched the iron. For exactly 0.4 seconds, the beam transferred an immense amount of thermal energy directly into the water molecules.

Instantly, the kettle began to whistle happily.

The water was boiling perfectly.

The rock beneath it hadn't even been scorched.

Alpha poured himself a steaming cup of tea with a deeply satisfied smile.

"Civilization is built on comfort, Pao. This is the true pinnacle of martial arts: enjoying the top of the world with a hot drink."

Suddenly, a massive mutant Tyrannosaurus Rex—adapted to the cold with ice-like scales—burst onto the summit with a thunderous roar to defend its territory.

Alpha didn't even set down his tea.

With a subtle Level 2 gravity pulse, he launched a small pebble from the ground. The tiny stone struck the T-Rex precisely in its central motor nerve.

The dinosaur collapsed unconscious.

Alpha sighed, sipping his tea as he watched the sunrise.

Nature was beautiful.

But sometimes, it needed a mute button.

Fairy Tail Universe – The Guild in Magnolia

While Alpha meditated among glaciers, Zeta had returned from the Depths of the Amber Forest in the east. There he had discovered underground caverns where the sap of ancient trees formed golden pools that glowed with their own light—a spectacle of pristine peace reachable only by surviving swarms of venomous beasts.

After witnessing such natural beauty, the noisy Fairy Tail guild felt even louder than usual.

But secretly, he appreciated the warmth of human company… especially when desserts were involved.

Zeta sat at the bar.

Across from him stood Mirajane Strauss, wearing her immaculate apron and angelic smile as she polished a crystal glass. Ever since the incident with the mercenaries, a strange dynamic of mutual fascination had formed between them. The dormant demon inside her found the boy who treasured peace despite possessing terrifying power deeply intriguing.

"You look relaxed today, Zeta-kun," Mirajane purred, sliding a perfectly chilled strawberry cake toward him.

"Did you find a nice place to rest during your mission?"

"An amber cavern," Zeta replied with half-lidded eyes. "Beautiful. No explosions, no shouting mages. Just golden light and silence. But your cake compensates."

Mirajane leaned over the bar, resting her chin in her hands.

"You know… I've noticed you only move fast when your peace or your food is threatened. What would happen if I were in danger? Would you move that fast for me?"

Before Zeta could respond to the playful yet intense gaze of the white-haired mage, Natsu and Gray began their usual destructive brawl in the middle of the guild hall.

Natsu, engulfed in flames, unleashed a Fire Dragon's Roar.

The massive blast of fire veered off course—heading directly toward the bar, straight at Mirajane.

Mirajane remained calm, ready to activate her own magic.

But Zeta moved first.

Using Cognitive Acceleration and Alpha's cross-thermodynamic control, he simply lifted the small silver spoon he had been stirring his tea with.

The spoon turned completely black.

Black Syntax.

Zeta intercepted the enormous Dragon Slayer fireball with the concave side of the spoon. Upon contact with its repulsion field, the flames were compressed and absorbed into a perfect vortex around the metal, shrinking into a harmless spark.

Zeta lowered the slightly smoking spoon and took another bite of cake.

"As I was saying," Zeta murmured without even looking at Natsu—who stood frozen in horror after seeing his attack neutralized by cutlery—

"courtesy is annoying. But I hate the smell of burnt wood, and burning this counter would ruin your beautiful workplace, Mira."

Mirajane froze.

He had protected her from his seat—with a teaspoon.

Her face slowly flushed a deep crimson.

She leaned closer, reducing the distance between them until Zeta could smell her sweet perfume, her smile shifting into something dangerously seductive.

"Zeta-kun…" she whispered softly against his ear.

"You're officially my favorite person in the entire guild. If you ever need someone to feed you that cake to save you the effort… just say the word."

Zeta sighed.

Though the Sage Radar informed him his own heart rate had increased slightly.

Avoiding problems was impossible.

His own gravity attracted the most dangerous and charming women.

Danmachi Universe – Orario, The Dungeon – Floor 18

Kilometers beneath the earth, Delta had crossed hell to reach paradise.

Floor 18—Under Resort—was an ecosystem that defied logic.

After the blood and dark stone of the upper floors, discovering an immense underground forest was like witnessing a miracle. Giant luminous crystals in the ceiling simulated sunlight and night skies, bathing emerald fields and crystal lakes where glowing lotus flowers bloomed.

It was a dreamlike landscape that adventurers could only witness after defeating the Floor Boss, Goliath.

Delta walked to the base of a majestic crystal tree.

He pulled out his feather pillow, lay down on the soft grass that smelled of pure dew, and released a long sigh of satisfaction.

"Worth it. Time to sleep."

He closed his eyes and pulled down his sleep mask.

Ten seconds later, he heard the rustle of grass.

His Observation Haki detected Aiz Wallenstein, the Sword Princess, standing before him.

"I saw you on Floor 17," Aiz said as she sat down on the grass. Her golden eyes burned with determination. "I want you to fight me. I want to experience that technique."

Delta lifted his mask and rubbed his eyes, then looked around at the beautiful landscape.

"Listen carefully, Princess. I broke that monster quickly so I could reach this forest before losing my sleep schedule. The nature here is perfect. Fighting you would destroy part of this ecosystem and waste calories. The answer is no."

Aiz clenched her fists.

"Then what do you want? What can I do to make you show me that power?"

Delta evaluated the stoic warrior, then glanced at his pillow.

"A contract. I'm going to sleep right now. If for the next eight hours you ensure absolutely no one approaches this tree and no wandering monster steps on these flowers… then tomorrow morning I will answer one question about my technique."

Aiz blinked.

The adventurer who had humiliated a Floor Boss was asking a Level 5 warrior to be his personal bodyguard… just to protect his nap and the flowers.

"Deal," Aiz said firmly.

She unsheathed Desperate and stood with her back to Delta's tree, projecting her immense aura to repel any threats.

That night, beneath the glow of the subterranean crystals, the Architect slept in perfect harmony with nature—guarded by the strongest warrior of Orario.

Because the greatest victory in any world

is the right

to an uninterrupted rest.
