When Olivier heard Sadius say that he was a soul mutate, he immediately came to a realization.
At the same time, he was incomparably excited.
There had always been rumors that Sadius had been nothing more than a mere ninth-rank magical beast a few hundred years ago. Yet, he had risen at an astonishing pace, defeating the mighty Radiant Church even while still at the Saint level.
After becoming a Deity, he had become as renowned as Beirut of the Forest of Darkness and Leylin of the Leylin Continent.
He even commanded a host of Deities beneath him.
So it turned out he was a soul mutate… no wonder he had been able to rise so quickly.
Since Sadius had been able to rise swiftly and become one of the top Deities of the Yulan Plane, then Olivier too should be able to rise rapidly.
Olivier thought this to himself.
"Soul mutations like yours…" Sadius said lightly, "Do you know that across the four Higher Planes, the seven Divine Planes, and the countless Material Planes, soul mutates such as yourself are actually not that rare?"
Indeed, soul mutations were rare.
But when spread across the entire Coiling Dragon Universe, there were still a fair number of them.
What was truly rare, however, were three-way soul mutations, or even four-way soul mutations.
"You think that on the Yulan Continent you can already be considered a genius. But across the countless planes, there are many, many more geniuses far beyond you. If you only want to stay on the Yulan Continent and be some so-called 'genius,' then just pretend I never came looking for you today."
Sadius' voice was calm. Olivier suddenly woke up to the truth.
This world… was far, far larger than he had imagined. He had truly been like a frog in a well, seeing only a patch of the sky.
"Please, my lord, accept me as your disciple!" Olivier directly knelt down this time.
"Have you thought this through? To be my disciple means you must follow me to the Infernal Realm. Unless you one day become a legendary Seven Star Fiend, it will be nearly impossible for you to return to the Yulan Plane."
"My lord, could you give me a little time? I wish to bid farewell to my younger brother."
"You may. My time is limited, but I'll take you there."
Sadius reached out and grabbed Olivier, then instantly flew south with him.
Soon, the two arrived in the Baruch Kingdom. Olivier's greatest concern was his younger brother.
After explaining everything to his brother, Olivier left together with Sadius.
When they returned once more to the Extreme Northern Icefields, Beirut and Leylin were already gone. Radius was waiting by the teleportation array.
Hodan was grinning as he questioned Radius.
After all, Radius looked too similar to Sadius in appearance. Hodan had even thought that Radius was Sadius' son.
Only after asking did he realize that Radius was actually Sadius' younger brother, who had only hatched after they arrived in Infernal Realm.
Soon, Sadius brought Olivier to the teleportation array.
"Hodan, there's no problem with us heading to the Blood Ridge Continent of Infernal Realm, right?"
"My lord, this isn't something I can control. The teleportation array can indeed send you to Infernal Realm, but as for which exact teleportation location it links to… that I cannot say."
"Fine. Just teleport us."
Sadius was helpless as well. However, with his Sovereign's token, he could freely shuttle between any teleportation arrays. Even if they didn't land on Blood Ridge Continent directly, it wouldn't take long for him to reach it.
The three of them stepped through the teleportation array and arrived in Infernal Realm.
But where was this?
Sadius realized this wasn't the Ironknife Gorge or Mirror Moon Ravine that he was familiar with.
The Sovereign's Army stationed there saw two Midgods bringing a Saint into the Infernal Realm. They thought these three were newcomers and were about to warn them to behave.
But then Sadius revealed his Sovereign's token.
"Greetings, my lord!" The Sovereign's soldiers immediately saluted respectfully.
"I want to go to Blood Ridge Continent."
"Yes, my lord."
Soon, the teleportation array was activated again. The teleportation arrays of the Higher Planes were obviously of a far higher grade.
In an instant, Sadius and the other two were teleported to Ironknife Gorge.
"Coming from the Stellar Sea of Fog via teleportation? Looks like this one's a top-tier powerhouse."
The soldiers of Ironknife Gorge's Blood Ridge Army watched the flickering teleportation formation.
A moment later, two Highgods and a Saint appeared.
"Could he be some scion of a great clan? After all, to use planar teleportation arrays to traverse across the Infernal Realm, one would have to be ridiculously wealthy."
Sadius simply took out a metal lifeform from his spatial ring.
Seeing this top-grade metal lifeform, the group of soldiers immediately confirmed their suspicions. Sadius brought Olivier aboard the metal lifeform.
"Teacher, those people just now were incredibly strong," Olivier said.
The aura of the Sovereign's soldiers had been far too terrifying.
"They were just some ordinary Midgods. Train well, and in a few short years you'll be able to reach that level too," Sadius said casually.
Olivier nodded.
Just arriving in Infernal Realm, he could already feel how incredibly dense the elemental essence of Heaven and Earth was.
It was far denser than on the Yulan Continent. However, the gravity was also far more terrifying—like constantly having an Earth-style magus casting a gravity spell on you.
"Show me the profundities you've currently comprehended in the Edicts of Light and Edicts of Darkness."
Under Sadius' guidance, Olivier already knew which profound mysteries the Edicts of Light and Darkness possessed.
"Mm."
The metal lifeform was huge, with more than enough space inside for Olivier to display his sword techniques.
Olivier proceeded to execute his sword moves.
The Darkness Sword Style and the Light Shadow Sword Style—two completely different sword arts—each contained multiple techniques.
"This move shows hints of the Profound Mystery of Lightwave. That one uses the Profound Mystery of Lightspeed. This one seems a bit like a stealth technique, but it's gone slightly astray. And this one carries a touch of the Profound Mystery of Evil."
Sadius calmly analyzed Olivier's moves.
"Olivier, next I'll display for you a move of mine from the Edicts of Darkness. Let's see if you can gain any insights."
Sadius took Olivier's divine sword and casually unleashed a strike combining the Profound Mystery of Darkness with the Profound Mystery of Devouring.
Sadius restrained his power completely, not applying any Will to the attack. If he had infused it with Will, the strike would have directly ripped open space itself.
Olivier's Darkness Sword Style contained no hint of the Profound Mystery of Devouring, so Sadius wasn't sure if he could comprehend it.
It was clear Olivier's talent wasn't bad.
After Sadius displayed a few strikes, Olivier was able to see that Sadius' sword moves simultaneously contained the Profound Mystery of Darkness and the Profound Mystery of Devouring.
But seeing was all he could do.
He didn't actually gain any comprehension of the Profound Mystery of Devouring.
Back then, Sadius had also relied on dark magic to gain insight into Devouring. Olivier, however, had no magical talent, so he could only rely entirely on sword training.
"This is the application of Fused Profound Mysteries. By fusing two profound mysteries of the same Edict, you can unleash an effect far greater than the sum of its parts.
For the same Edict, you only need to fuse ten percent of two mysteries to become a Deity. But achieving even that ten percent fusion is no easier than mastering a single profound mystery outright."
"Teacher, can mysteries from different Edicts be fused together?" Olivier asked curiously.
Ever since his soul mutation, he always felt he might be able to merge techniques from his Lightshadow Sword and Darkness Sword, but he had no idea how.
"Your perception isn't bad. Yes—cross-Edict fusion is something only us soul mutates have a chance to succeed at.
Understand this: simply fully fusing two profound mysteries from different Edicts can yield power no weaker than fusing three mysteries of the same Edict.
And if you infuse God level energy into it, its power wouldn't even lose to fusing four same-Edict mysteries."
Olivier was beyond excited. He couldn't wait to try merging the two sword styles together.
"I advise you to first train diligently in single-Edict mysteries. The difficulty of cross-Edict fusion is far greater than ordinary fusion.
Before you fully comprehend at least one profound mystery from each of the two Edicts, at most you'll just find the tiniest trace of compatibility."
In a Material Plane, where Deities were few, even finding a cross-Edict resonance point would already give you one more life-saving trump card.
But in Infernal Realm, unless you became a Deity, you were always an ant. Under the domain of a God, no matter how strong a Saint was, they were still an ant.
