Sadius continued leading Lina through the Planar Prison in search of a Divine Beast's corpse.
Along the way, they found several corpses of magical beasts that had reached the divine level. Unfortunately, those were merely divine-level magical beasts, not true Divine Beasts.
Lina's secret technique could only refine a being with true Divine Beast bloodline power, so they had to keep searching.
After a long time, Sadius finally found a Divine Beast's corpse.
But this Divine Beast corpse wasn't an animal—it was a plant.
In the Coiling Dragon Universe, even plants could achieve divinity.
For example, the Sovereign of Death was originally the very first plant to be born within the Netherworld.
However, for a plant to reach Divinity was far more difficult, making divine plant-beasts exceedingly rare compared to divine animals.
By chance, within the Gebados Planar Prison, there happened to be a plant-type Divine Beast that had already died.
It was a withered Other Shore Flower. Although its divinity had not completely dissipated, it still retained the appearance of a flower.
The flower that should have been a vibrant red now leaned toward a dull gray, looking lifeless and devoid of vitality.
Lina was overjoyed at the sight of this dead Other Shore Flower.
Compared to other Divine Beasts, this one was much smaller—just the right size for her to refine.
Lina immediately sat cross-legged in front of the gray Other Shore Flower and began the refinement.
Sadius himself was curious about this flower.
He hadn't expected that even the Coiling Dragon Universe contained an Other Shore Flower—a plant from ancient myths that was always tied to death and the underworld.
From the lingering traces of divinity, he could tell that during its life, this Other Shore Flower cultivated the Edicts of Death.
After a long time, Lina finally finished refining the entire Other Shore Flower.
"Teacher, this flower is terrifying! I can feel its bloodline power is far stronger than the bat-type Divine Beast I refined before!"
Stronger bloodline than an ordinary Divine Beast? Could it be… a super Divine Beast?
No… impossible. If it were a super Divine Beast, even after death, its corpse would've been taken away by Beirut and wouldn't just be left here unattended.
Lina slowly raised her right hand. In her palm appeared an enchanting, beautiful, blood-red flower.
This was the true form of the refined Other Shore Flower.
"Teacher, I can feel that after refining this flower, my spiritual force is constantly rising. It seems like I'll soon break through to the Saint-level!"
Sadius frowned.
This Other Shore Flower was indeed strange—it could actually enhance the holder's spiritual force.
But Sadius dared not be careless. He worried this flower might have left some hidden trap that could harm Lina.
"Lina, open your palm and show me the flower. I'll scan it with my divine sense and make sure there's no problem."
Lina nodded and opened her hand, displaying the flower.
Sadius' divine sense immediately wrapped around it.
The original Divine Beast, the Other Shore Flower, was already long dead.
The flower now in Lina's hand was a mere body controlled by her secret art using her own spiritual force.
Through that secret art, it had become part of Lina herself.
Sadius' divine sense easily scanned the flower's interior.
Inside the flower, a droplet of essence from the original Other Shore Flower had merged with Lina's spiritual sea. That was how Lina controlled the flower.
Everything seemed normal.
But then—The flower in Lina's palm began to emit faint red starlight. A strange substance started to radiate outward.
"Teacher, what is this?"
Sadius didn't know. But clearly, this was some kind of hidden backhand the flower had left behind.
"Quick, put it away!"
Lina tried to withdraw the flower.
But the red starlight unexpectedly seeped into both their bodies, slipping directly into their spiritual seas.
Damn it! What is this?!
Sadius immediately surged his spiritual force, trying to expel the red light invading his soul.
But the moment he activated his spiritual force, those red light specks began to rapidly expand, covering more and more space within his spiritual sea.
Sadius thought it was some strange kind of soul attack.
Normally, with his current soul strength—already among the peak even for Highgods—he could even resist the soul poison on a Godslayer Arrow without relying on the Coiling Dragon Ring.
But these red specks… he couldn't resist them at all.
"Lina! Don't use spiritual force to drive them out!" Sadius urgently warned.
But Lina was already showing a vacant, dazed expression—her spiritual sea had completely fallen.
Inside Sadius' spiritual sea, the red specks rapidly multiplied, soon filling it entirely.
Only because his soul was in a mutated Azure Dragon form, despite losing the divine ability, did he last longer than Lina.
But eventually, the red specks penetrated directly into his soul.
Even his Divine Spark had no power to resist.
The red light merged into Sadius' Azure Dragon soul, dyeing what was once multicolored into pure crimson.
Immediately, Sadius felt something was wrong.
Emotions erupted uncontrollably within him.
Joy, anger, sorrow, happiness. Desire, greed, hatred, love.
On the side, Lina was experiencing the same.
Her eyes grew hazy. Slowly, an expression of longing appeared on her delicate face.
"Teacher… I feel so hot…" Lina's eyes grew misty as she leaned softly against Sadius.
Clearly, the Other Shore Flower had stirred the most primal desires in her heart.
Sadius also felt his soul being overwhelmed by a power of carnal desire.
But his powerful divine sense still allowed him to barely restrain this force.
"Damn it! This flower is already dead, and yet it's still this terrifying?!"
Seeing this, Sadius immediately tried to control his body.
His Dark God clone body was originally formed from dark divine power.
Normally, he could simply withdraw the divine power constructing his body, leaving only his Divine Spark.
Back when Leylin created the Leylin Continent, he had consumed vast amounts of accumulated divine power, and his body had dissipated—only to soon recover afterward.
Sadius planned to use this same method—not to scatter his divine power outward, but to retract it completely.
But now, he realized with horror that he couldn't even retract the divine power forming his body. He couldn't disperse it either.
As Lina leaned against him, Sadius' rationality was slowly corroded by the Other Shore Flower's eerie energy.
A primal instinctual desire rose, and he began responding subconsciously to Lina's movements. Before he completely lost his rationality, he decided to follow the rules that most Beasts typically follow. Whoever you mate with becomes your mate.
For humans or humanoid creatures, there's typically a ritual prior to mating, but for Beasts it was different. It was implied that mating was a form of lifelong commitment. It was instinct. And Beasts, especially, are very territorial so it was rare to have multiple mates. That's why even someone like Beirut only married Carolina.
Sadius' situation was unique but he'd follow the same principle. After all, he wasn't some unscrupulous guy…
—
On the Yulan Continent.
Beirut and Leylin were playing chess together.
As Sovereigns, they could no longer leave the Yulan Continent, so they often passed time like this.
At that moment, both of their Sovereign senses detected the situation in the Planar Prison.
"This… It's the pollen of the Divine Beast Other Shore Flower. How did those two stumble into such a situation?"
Beirut scanned Lina's memories and immediately understood what had happened.
"Enough, enough. These are young people's affairs. We two old monsters who've lived countless eons shouldn't be peeping."
Beirut withdrew his Sovereign sense, smiling faintly.
"Continue the game," Leylin said with a laugh.
