Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: New Follower

Enhanced by the divine artifact, Reyna's magic was significantly more powerful. With a simple Light spell, the survivor's wounds completely healed.

The survivor awoke and, upon seeing the mage girl before him, hurriedly bowed in reverence.

"Thank you, great Lord of Light! You must have sent this great mage to save us!"

Despite having just been plundered by the allied forces, these people still maintained their faith in the Lord of Light.

"Hmph! Your rescue has nothing to do with the so-called Lord of Light. It was only thanks to the great Saint-level Armored Razorback Wyrm, Sadius, who mercifully allowed this servant to save you."

The survivor, upon seeing Sadius behind Reyna, first reacted in terror, then immediately prostrated himself.

"Great Saint Dragon, thank you for saving me!"

"Reyna, return with me to The Mountain Range of Magical Beasts."

In his past life as a human, Sadius now found himself always surrounded by magical beasts in this life. Having a 'kindred spirit' around would make things a bit more comfortable.

"Master, may I save a few more civilians? They are too pitiful."

Seeing Reyna's sincere expression, Sadius found it difficult to refuse.

"Fine, this lord will help you rescue these pitiful civilians. However, you must tell them that it was the great Saint-level Dragon, Sadius, who saved them. It has nothing to do with that damned Radiant Church."

Naturally, Reyna obeyed Sadius' words. The two of them then began searching for survivors in various towns, with Reyna administering healing.

Fortunately, as a Saint-level Magical Beast, Sadius could fly. Otherwise, if Reyna had to travel on foot from town to town, who knew how long it would take?

Rather than driving them away, Sadius gathered them together to establish a new town under the governance of the Magical Beast Alliance.

Through this period of casting spells repeatedly as well as the accumulation of the past months, Reyna's spiritual force had risen to the Sixth Rank.

This meant she was now capable of casting Rank-Six Light Magic. Reyna was elated. She had taken another step closer to Master Sadius.

"Sadius, your human servant's soul purity seems quite high."

From within the Coiling Dragon ring, Doehring Cowart emerged. He had been resting inside for the past few days.

"Oh? So you're saying Reyna has potential for training in Necromancy Magic?"

Unlike the Seven Elemental Laws, the Four Edicts did not have direct affinity measurements.

Through Bloodviolet, Sadius had pushed his Darkness Affinity to the extreme.

Unexpectedly, he had formed a Destruction-attribute Dragon Core—an unintentional but fortunate outcome.

Among the Four Edicts, Sadius only knew for sure that talent in the Edict of Death was linked to soul purity.

The purer the soul, the greater the affinity for training in the Edict of Death.

Sadius was willing to bet that if Linley's mother had trained in Necromancy Magic, she would have long since become a Saint-level Necromancer rather than being captured and sacrificed by the Radiant Church.

"Unfortunately, Necromancers are exceedingly rare in the Yulan Continent. Without a mentor, it's almost impossible to begin training."

While Sadius did not fully understand the Four Edicts, he had a vague feeling that they were all related to the soul.

"Grand Prophecies are incredibly mysterious. I don't know much about them. Perhaps we could ask Heidens of the Radiant Church. As for Life Magic, it depends more on one's affinity for life force. To test that, we'd likely have to go to the Yulan Empire."

Sadius pondered. There was no rush for this matter. Reyna's Light Affinity was already quite strong; for now, she should focus on cultivating Light Magic.

Once Reyna reached Rank-Six as a mage, Sadius brought her back to the Misty Valley.

At this point, the cave could no longer be called a simple cave. It was practically a palace, with Saint-level and Rank-Nine Magical Beasts cultivating within.

"Sadius, why did you bring a human back? Is she food for us?"

"Liya, stop your nonsense. This is my servant, Reyna."

Liya gazed at Reyna and suddenly realized something. Could it be that… Sadius actually liked humans?

Liya instantly felt dejected. It seemed she really had no hope after all.

Or maybe not! If she could just reach the Saint level, then three hundred years from now, when Sadius distributed divine sparks, she would be given priority!

As long as she became a Deity, she could take on human form. By then, Sadius would have no excuse to reject her.

Lost in her own thoughts, Liya was eventually brought back to reality when Sadius interrupted her.

Veylan, the Saint-level Violet Tattooed Bear, was one of the top Light-affinity Saint Beasts, making him a fitting teacher for Reyna.

"He's inside, cultivating."

Sadius led Reyna deeper into the palace, while Liya skittered away to cultivate on her own.

Under Sadius' guidance, Reyna stepped into the grand palace.

All around her were massive stone sculptures of powerful magical beasts.

Soon, Reyna saw a group of enormous Rank-Nine Magical Beasts. She had previously glimpsed them from afar on the battlefield, but now, observing them up close filled her with apprehension.

Even more astonishingly, she soon spotted five powerful Saint-level Magical Beasts.

The five Saint-level Beasts hovered in the air, constantly absorbing the elemental essence within the palace.

Sadius had granted them permission to cultivate here, on the condition that they did not damage the palace's stone structures.

Naturally, they took full advantage of the opportunity.

"Veylan, come here."

Sadius called out to the Saint-level Violet Tattooed Bear.

"Lord Sadius."

"This is my human servant, Reyna. A Rank-Six Light Magus. Teach her some powerful Light Magic and guide her in her training."

Clearly, this human girl was more than just an ordinary servant.

"Yes, my lord. I will instruct Miss Reyna to the best of my ability."

Having arranged Reyna's training, Sadius also entered seclusion to cultivate.

He had already begun grasping the Earth Laws related to the Throbbing Pulse of the World Profound Mystery, but he had yet to make breakthroughs in the Laws of Destruction and Darkness. More effort was needed!
