Gabriel's gaze towards 'that hot guy' got more intense, not ceasing momentum, and at the tensions climax he revealed a dazzling white gold sword, that looked to have a life on its own but also released a strong authoritative aura, at but a glance it was obvious that sword was extraordinary.
But not falling behind in speed, but losing miserably in grandeur 'that hot guy' removed a sword, that looked to be broken down, but released this sense of danger, that even slightly frightened her.
Not wasting any more time, they hastily exchanged attacks, at paces extremely… slow. Maybe it was because her kinetic vision had improved, but to her it seemed as though they were casually throwing swords.
The battle was fast paced and despite the disparity in their weapon's apparent quality, they were evenly matched, in fact, the underdog, 'that hot guy' was hitting the scales, slowly, steadily, but surely gaining the upper hand.
But then Gabriel suddenly sprouted huge, feathered majestic white gold wings and leaving a gale in it's wake with it sprouted horns and a tail, he ascended and aimed to stab the other guy in his back.
But not cutting slack while Gabriel was still midair the guy's night sky wings, hors and tail sprouted and he swiftly glided away.
But then Gabriel went for a more decisive attack, white balls, that reeked gold light surrounded him, they numbered over a dozen, roughly, but then the area around the other guy turned darker, at a speed far slower than the balls but as soon as the balls entered the dark substance, they were slowed down severely turned darker and soon added to the brewing black tornado.
Then, amidst all of that unyielding Gabriel also created white gold arrow and shot them quickly, but the dark tornado continued to absorb it and grow soon, the guy came closer to Gabriel and threw the sword in his hand, and he tragically fell unconscious.
It took less than a minute for the battle to end, in the favor of him, and after it, he looked sweaty, I mean anyone would after such a fast-paced battle, but on him, the sweat made him look sexy… his slightly wet, perfectly dewy neat hair disheveled his body active and his abs bulging.
But she could not remain in this reverie like state for much longer, soon he held her hand and together they went through the halls, leaving Gabriel on the floor passed out, but he did not kill him like most victors would and she just had to ask, after a while of non-stop walking she stopped, and he tried to move but she was strong enough to not even budge.
"What is it, why are you sanding there? We do not have much time"
"Why did you not kill that guy, Gabriel after the battle was over?"
"Is this what that's all about, seriously can you not just be left in the dark for one moment?"
"No, knowledge is power"
"Just stop with those horrible quotes, Gabriel is my half-brother" Serena quickly processed the information filled out the gaps and realized it seemed quite possible, she had more questions but they could wait.
Soon they arrived in this place located at the bottom most underground floor of the 'cage', it seemed to have no light and was filled with cobwebs but both parties in the room had night vision and could easily see the place as clear as day.
"So, I'll break it down to you. My name is Julian Rae, the first born, and illegitimate son of the Fae royal family. I was born as a result of my father mating with a slave he found beautiful and sent to the palace to be his concubine, shortly after I was born, but I never knew my mom because she was loved by my father more than the queen and hence she claimed his life, my dad loved me most, because I was all he had left of his beloved concubine, but he knew what his wife was capable off so rarely or never showed it, but I am content he is the reason I was not crushed by the intoxicating royal system while I was still young"
Julien said, practically revealing something that could cost his life to a stranger, and he might have said it with a straight face, but she could tell he still felt pain, the pain of losing a mother while still young, she could relate to him and found herself feeling something she never felt around a guy, not even her dad, she felt secure, and did not like it one bit.
"So, why this place? why slave trade? And how are your step-mother and half-brother involved in this?" She found herself asking him.
"Well, the fae are going extinct. Time immemorial it had been desired to only mate or marry a fae with blood as pure or purer than themselves, think of it like wealth in your society, but the thing was the fae who they decided on mostly had those with purer bloods on their list too, so our population had been steadily decreasing, soon things were set up, including polygamy and polyandry to increase our population but at that time it was too late, and when the queen suggested this it was hard for father to dismiss it and maintain favor from his council which could cost him an early death. He was a sad old man surrounded by backstabbers with no fight left in him, but I think you are just what we need, long story short I want to start a revolution, and change the Aetna world"
It was all over the place, but made some sense. Then her insecurities came up, he seemed way too honest, could he have concocted a lie, how many people would see someone, find out they had an agenda against their very own actions then support them to take action against them, saying they would help her course, and even if this was somehow real why did he not bring Lance. In the end, at a loss for words she ended up saying.
"So, what are the details of your plan? What are you doing now to achieve your goals? And what evidence do you have to foster your credibility" then he smirked, and said in his low voice,
"You do not expect me to reveal that to you, do you?"
"I actually do, I usually do not trust every random stranger who tells me they are some princes to a nonexistent country suffering from family issues and hence decide to commit crimes okay"
"I agree with your philosophy, and hence cannot reveal too much of my agenda's background and what I have said is already leaning towards the limit to what my top subordinates know, so I'm saying it one more time are you in or not"
"I'm sorry but cannot make judgement without knowing your methods and only hearing one side of the story the best I can tell you is I will need time to process the information you gave to me; it'll take time but I am sure I would be capable of doing it, I will unveil all your secrets"
"You have not a clue how tightly guarded they are"
"Well not many can say they have come from the dead and literally mean it, but I did. All I am trying to say is nothing is impossible so do not be too sure of yourself, and check your back, you tent to leave a lot of footprints" then she walked to the door, that was when he inched in on her and closed the door, looked into her eyes and asked,
"So, you're not going to share your name"
"I do not need to, and besides what are you going to use it for. I am sure you already got it from the slave trader" she smiled and inched closer and whispered in her ear, unbearably close to her, to the point she could feel her chest beating, hard.
"Julian, back off, do not make me say it twice… things can get really nasty" he inched away, hands raised and said,
"You do not have to say it twice, I'm cool you're not ready, and I'm guessing you're an item with that guy who has slit like eyes"
"I may or may not, but I would never feel comfortable that close to someone I saw on the very day"
"Today I'll settle for a number" She looked at him and said,
"One you are not getting" then she pushed him out of the way with just a little force and walked away, he held on to his limp hand while looking at her from behind, knowing she was going to get into trouble if she was spotted and might be forced to sleep with someone, hence he trailed after her, upon noticing her he shouted,
"Wait up"
"Why are you following me?"
"Well on the way, I think you know what happens here and if you are seen alone, you might be a victim, and trying to fight would attract my parent's and you are not quite that strong yet"
"How do you know"
"I was born with the ability to analyze everyone's strength and weakness, a great skill for a leader and the reason I knew someday you would be strong enough to be the reason why I get what is rightfully mine, the throne to Aetna and put into practice all the right processes"
"I don't know what to say… honestly"
She was torn between following this guy on this adventure somewhere new, or staying true to this new life she had, and all the drama and responsibilities that came with it,
One thing she knew was that nothing was perfect but each and everything had their fair share of different advantages, and she did not know if this scene was as it seemed, how bold he was when coming close to her also hinted at a possibility she did not want to think of,
