The chef froze, a bead of sweat forming at his temple.

"I-Is… it not to your taste, sir?"

Beerus didn't answer. Slowly, silently, he stood, every movement radiating murderous intent. Then he placed one clawed hand on the tiled floor.

The ground howled. A shockwave burst from the point of contact, rippling outward through the building, through the streets, through the planet itself. Mars shuddered.Beerus's voice, when it came, was a quiet snarl—the kind of quiet that means everything is about to end.

"Five minutes… That's all you have before your precious planet goes bye-bye."

Whis sighed, placing a delicate finger to his chin.

"Ah, I should have mentioned… spicy food isn't really Lord Beerus's… flavor."

The chef's knees buckled as Beerus turned toward the door, the countdown to planetary doom already ticking in his head.

As Beerus strode toward the exit, the chef collapsed where he stood, paralyzed with terror. The God of Destruction didn't so much as glance over his shoulder. His steps were slow, deliberate—like a judge already certain of the verdict.

But the planet had already begun to react to his touch.

The ground shivered first, a subtle warning. Then came the sound—a deep, bone-rattling crack that tore across the blood-red sky. Somewhere, high above the atmosphere, the cosmic countdown for Mars had started ticking.

Within seconds, panic ignited. The streets erupted in chaos as Martians scattered in every direction. Massive towers shuddered, tilting before collapsing into heaps of shattered steel and stone.

The tremor intensified, a monstrous heartbeat pulsing through the planet's crust. Jagged fissures split open in the ground, swallowing entire plazas. Black smoke geysered upward, twisting into the choking air.

Above it all, the once-gleaming scarlet sky dimmed beneath a storm of falling debris. Shards of glass and stone rained down as the atmosphere filled with a gritty haze.

This wasn't a disaster the people of Mars could outrun.

This was extinction—announced in the casual footsteps of a god who had already decided their fate.

Far from the epicenter of chaos, in the marble halls of the castle Kratos had built for Zelda and Atreus, fear clung to the air like smoke.

The walls groaned as deep cracks split the stone. Marble chunks tumbled from the ceiling. The once-serene swimming pool now churned violently, slamming waves against its edges as if trying to escape.

Zelda, her face pale as starlight, closed her eyes. She swallowed the rising panic and reached for the bond—the invisible thread that tied her mind to Kratos's.

"Kratos… the planet's going to explode. I don't know how. I don't know what to do…" Her words were silent, but her terror screamed across the void.

Light-years away, on Beerus and Whis's homeworld, Kratos felt it. Her fear. And underneath it, the answer he already knew—this was Beerus's doing.

His voice burst into her mind, urgent but tender.

"Listen to me, my love… Be strong. Take your brother and run to the ship. Hit the emergency button—I programmed it for this. I'm with you. I'll always be with you. Just… be strong for me."

When Zelda's eyes opened again, fear had been replaced by a steely resolve. She seized Atreus's hand and pulled him toward the gardens, where the sleek white starship waited. They would make it. They had to.

But as they crossed the grand hall, the fractured ceiling gave way.

With a deafening roar, tons of stone and marble plummeted toward them in a lethal cascade.

Zelda acted on pure instinct. She shoved Atreus forward with every ounce of strength she had. He stumbled clear, but the last thing she saw before the impact was the horror in his eyes.

"NOOOOOOO! SISTER! NOOOOOOOO!" Atreus's cry tore through the chaos, his young voice cracking under the weight of loss.

Fueled by desperation, Atreus heaved aside chunks of rubble far beyond what a boy his age—or even his species—should be able to lift. When he found her, she was pinned, her body broken, crimson staining her gown. And yet, her gaze… still warm.

Her voice was a whisper, ragged and fading.

"Atreus… I love you. Please… go to the ship. Press the emergency button. It's over for me. There's no sense in both of us dying here…"

Tears streamed down his face, blurring the world.

"No! I can't! You're all I have! GRAND-SISTER, NO! WHERE ARE YOU, KRATOS?! WHERE ARE YOU?!"

Zelda reached up with trembling fingers, brushing the tears from his cheek.

"Go… please… my little brother…"

Her hand fell limp. Her eyes closed. The last breath left her lips like a whisper to the stars.

And Kratos—though galaxies away—felt it all.

He fell to his knees, eyes wide, trembling, his fists clenched so tightly they cut into his own palms. Tears blurred his vision until the universe itself seemed to shake with him.

"ZEEEEEEEEEEELDAAAAAAAAAA!" His voice ripped through the empty skies. "My love… don't cry. We'll meet again. I promise… I swear it. Take care of my little brother until then. Be strong… my baby…"

But no answer came. Only silence.

And in that silence, the seeds of a vengeance darker than the void itself began to take root.

High above the burning remains of Mars, Beerus and Whis hovered in the thinning atmosphere, watching as the planet groaned under its own collapsing weight.

Beerus stretched, letting out a lazy yawn.

"Well… that was disappointing. Spicy food. Who eats that? My tongue's still crying."

Whis smirked faintly, twirling his staff.

"You did destroy an entire world over a seasoning, my Lord."

Beerus ignored the jab and looked toward the distant speck of their homeworld.

"So… how long to get back?"

Whis tilted his head, calculating with an annoying precision.

"Approximately… twenty-four minutes."

Beerus blinked.

"Twenty-four minutes? That's… that's literally the length of an anime episode! And I'm still hungry, damn it! Do you have any idea how much I hate sitting still when I'm starving?!"

Whis gave a polite smile that could have meant anything.

"Perhaps this time you might refrain from obliterating the next restaurant we encounter, hmm?"

Beerus just grunted.

"No promises."

The two vanished into a streak of light, leaving the dying planet behind.

Far across the void, in the silence of his quarters, Kratos stood before his weapons rack. The air around him was still—but inside, a storm was building.

His hand hovered over the hilt of his favored blade before gripping it tight. The leather-wrapped handle was warm, as if it had been waiting for him.

He closed his eyes. He saw Zelda's smile. He heard Atreus's scream.

And he knew.

"Beerus… I'm going to kill you."

There was no more hesitation. No more forgiveness.

Only the steady, controlled breathing of a warrior who had already chosen his path.

The war had just begun.
