Garfield and Holland stared at the Abomination in disbelief.
"This guy's power is terrifying."
"Up against him, the two of us might as well be kids."
"It feels even scarier than Maguire."
The onlookers around them were stunned as well.
"My God, that green monster is too strong!"
"Spider-Man isn't his match at all!"
The Abomination kept rampaging through the avenue. Even Iron Man Tony couldn't deal any meaningful damage. Tony, anxious, hailed Nick Fury at S.H.I.E.L.D.
"What is it, Tony?" Fury's voice came through.
Firing as he spoke, Tony yelled, "Get the Hellblood Demon. Only he can subdue this thing!"
"I already sent people to contact him," Fury answered, "but we can't get through."
Tony's worry spiked. "At a time like this, and we can't reach him—?"
Just then, a towering crimson figure slammed down onto the street—a hulking body identical in build to the Abomination.
Red Hulk—General Ross.
The sudden arrival of the Red Hulk left Tony, Garfield, and Holland all slack-jawed.
"Another one of these monsters? What are we supposed to do now?"
"Even if Maguire shows up, he might not be able to handle this!"
The Abomination spotted the Red Hulk and was just as shaken. Red Hulk? Is that Bruce? What did he turn into? He still thought the red giant was Banner, never imagining it was his own commanding officer, General Ross.
The Red Hulk roared and launched himself at the Abomination. Their collision blasted the Abomination back dozens of meters; both bodies smashed into a nearby building. The structure couldn't withstand force like that; people still inside were doomed.
A heartbeat later, the Red Hulk came hurtling out of the ruin, knocked flying. The Abomination vaulted after him and drove a punch into the Red Hulk, sending him skidding.
Iron Man took in the devastation and grimaced. I can't let these two keep fighting in the city.
The Red Hulk and the Abomination traded savage blows. The damage mounted.
Just when Tony's nerves were fraying, a green shape dropped from above—Hulk, Banner himself. The sight froze Tony, Garfield, and Holland.
"Two of them were already about to erase this whole block."
"Add a third and we're done. Even if Maguire comes, he'll get steamrolled."
The Abomination and the Red Hulk noticed the Hulk's arrival and, as if by unspoken agreement, paused with equally puzzled looks.
The Red Hulk thought, So Banner didn't have the green factor purged after all—he can still transform. Perfect. With the two of us, taking down this monster should be no problem.
By now Ross knew he couldn't beat the Abomination alone. His Red Hulk power came from gamma radiation—he could absorb radiation and grow stronger—but he didn't get the Hulk's "the madder, the stronger" trait.
The Abomination, for his part, was rattled. Hulk eyed the crimson behemoth. Who is that red giant? Ross?
He didn't dwell on it. Power surged off the Hulk, and the Red Hulk dove back in. Flanked by the two Hulks, the Abomination was quickly driven onto the back foot. But his stamina and defense were monstrous; even disadvantaged, killing or restraining him was anything but easy.
Every swing leveled more of the city. Buildings fell like dominos.
Iron Man, Garfield, and Holland were reduced to running rescue—dragging people from wrecked cars, hauling the injured to safety—hearts burning as they watched three titans tear the district apart.
By now, nearly a hundred were dead and hundreds more injured.
The Abomination bellowed and blasted the Hulk away with a single blow. The Red Hulk lunged in, fist cocked—
—and a figure dropped from the sky, landing between him and his target. Smaller by far than the Red Hulk, the newcomer's punch smashed straight into the red giant's head.
Boom.
The impact howled across the street. Glass blew out of every window; a tight little whirlwind spun up at ground zero.
As the dust thinned, a black silhouette stepped into view—streamlined frame, a body-hugging suit as dark as night, like a ghost in the dark.
It was our Bully Maguire.
