Natlan and the Sacred Flame

Five hundred years ago, Natlan was a land of fire and passion.

Tribes ruled the region, each with its own traditions, strengths and rivalries. Warriors fought in grand tournaments to prove their honor. Artists shaped clay and stone to tell the stories of their people. And at the center of it all burned the Sacred Flame.

The Sacred Flame was no ordinary fire. It was said to hold the blessing of the Pyro Archon herself. It could heal the wounded, ignite the courage of warriors, and protect Natlan from forces beyond the mortal world.

Mavuika, the Pyro Archon, was both a ruler and a protector. She was not a distant god, but a living presence among her people. She laughed with them, fought alongside them, and carried their burdens on her shoulders.

Then came the Cataclysm. A great darkness spread across the land, corrupting life and twisting it into monstrous forms. Natlan was not spared. Villages burned, tribes fell, and the Sacred Flame began to dim.

Mavuika foresaw that the fight could not be won in her time. She made a choice. She would give herself to the Sacred Flame, sealing her essence within it so that she could return centuries later when Natlan would need her most.

This was not a decision made lightly. It meant leaving behind everyone she loved. Including her sister Hine.

Hine was no warrior or Archon. She was an artist, an architect, and a dreamer. But the bond between the two sisters was unbreakable. On the night before Mavuika's sacrifice, Hine made a promise that would become the heartbeat of this story.
