Chapter 426 - Light and Shadow

The Void enhanced Arthas's power, allowing Sargeras to feel substantial pressure for the first time.

Sargeras, fighting Arthas, felt as if he were simultaneously battling the Eternals, the Naaru, and the Void Lord, all working together seamlessly. Their continuous assault was like a torrential storm, giving Sargeras no chance to catch his breath.

The overwhelming grasp of the damned chain, imbued with the aura of death, burst forth from every corner of space. The layers of chains compressed and intertwined, forming a star that enveloped both Arthas and Sargeras.

The Power of Domination completely sealed the space; even when Sargeras's attacks struck the wall formed by the chains, they could only tear open an insignificant gap, which was immediately filled by more chains.

There was no way to escape this dominated space-time other than defeating Arthas.

Meanwhile, the substantial High Wall of Holy Light in front of Arthas had become the Wall of Sighs. When Sargeras attempted to charge directly at Arthas, the Sea of Light would be stimulated, passively defending and consuming or blocking all harmful spells or attacks.

Moreover, these surging lights were not entirely harmless; they could heal Arthas's injuries while also inflicting severe damage upon Sargeras's body.

Arthas did not need to guide this at all. When Sargeras's body, filled with fel energy, came into contact with the Sea of Light, the Holy Light would immediately generate a terrifying implosion, continuously striking Sargeras and causing cracks to appear even on his indestructible metallic body.

Sargeras dared not move freely in such an ocean; the slightest mistake would cause the Holy Light and his fel energy to trigger a chain reaction, resulting in wounds difficult to heal.

In response, Sargeras could only radiate fel energy outward as well, maintaining a balance against Arthas's Sea of Light.

What gave Sargeras the biggest headache was the elusive Void Power; he never knew when a collapsing black hole would form beside him, unleashing torrents of Void shockwaves carrying the wreckage of dead stars.

Arthas was clearly not a Void Lord, nor could he possess his own Internalized Universe. Thus, the fallen stars he summoned could only originate from the legacy of a living Void Lord.

Sargeras knew that most of the Legion's power was destroyed during the battle with Dimensius, but he never expected that Arthas would subdue that Void Lord and turn Dimensius's power into a weapon against him.

This legacy from Dimensius became the best leverage to tip the scales. Sargeras didn't believe he couldn't handle Arthas, who only wielded the Authorities of Death and Holy Light, but when the third party, Void Power, intervened, even Sargeras felt somewhat overwhelmed.

He had to devote himself entirely to this battle, because he knew that if he were injured by Arthas's power, the opponent would give him no chance to recover.

In a battle of such intensity, any flaw or disadvantage could lead to defeat. This left Sargeras no room to ponder extraneous matters; he discarded all unnecessary thoughts and focused his entire mind and will solely on how to counter the enemy.

During the clash with Arthas, Sargeras felt his power and enthusiasm gradually rising—it had been a long time since he encountered such an opponent. As a Titan, they were natural overlords of the cosmos, and by choosing to utilize the might of fel energy, Sargeras became even stronger than his former self, the Pantheon's first champion.

For tens of thousands of years, Sargeras had been commanding the Legion on crusades, and almost no world could withstand the Legion's iron hooves. The Burning Legion was powerful enough across the cosmos that enemies rarely required his personal intervention.

Except for the great war against the Pantheon on the doomed world of Naelan, Sargeras had not felt such a surging fighting spirit boil up in a long time. With no rivals left in the material universe, all that remained for Sargeras was endless solitude.

Before becoming the dark lord of the Legion, he was a pure warrior. Rather than playing schemes and tricks, he preferred to clear obstacles with his greatsword.

Tearing apart the cosmos and shattering stars was easy for him, but when Sargeras's sword once again faced an opponent it could not cut down, the Dark Titan was ecstatic.

"Come, Arthas! Burn your life and cause me even the slightest obstruction! Or fail to stop me! Keep fighting until you personally extinguish the light of the very last star!"

Sargeras's Great Flame Sword was hotter than a star. The energy, capable of annihilating all matter, rampaged through the Domination Domain unleashed by Arthas, grinding against the Sea of Holy Light.

The flames ignited, making the light brighter, and the brighter the light, the higher the temperature soared.

The icy chains of Domination formed an airtight sphere, suppressing the destructive power within. If the energy inside were allowed to erupt, the surrounding star systems would instantly be reduced to ashes.

Furthermore, these chains completely blocked Sargeras's perception, preventing him from noticing that the Seat of the Pantheon, shining with the Radiance of Order, had slowly appeared outside.

Just as the Titans of the Seat of the Pantheon advanced toward the battlefield, a golden pillar of light suddenly descended, striking directly upon the Seat of the Pantheon.

The Titans vigilantly watched the pillar's landing spot until a blurred figure walked out of the beam of light.

"Don't be alarmed, Titans who bestowed the current Order upon Azeroth. I am Arthas."

The golden blurred figure slowly spoke, emitting Eonar's familiar voice.

My lord, there is more to this chapter; please click the next page to continue reading. The rest is even more exciting!

"It is indeed a projection he left behind." Eonar nodded toward the gods, confirming Arthas's identity.

Norgannon dispersed the nebula in his hand, allowing the Power of Destiny within it to flow out. That wisp of power indeed wrapped around Arthas, further confirming that the projection before them originated from Arthas himself.

However, Arthas's projection showed no reaction. It merely stated mechanically, "This is a shadow I left behind. It activates upon sensing the power of the Seat of the Pantheon. Do not attempt to communicate with me. When you see this projection, I should have completely sealed off the battlefield with Sargeras, specifically to prevent him from escaping. Simultaneously, that area will also block all information transfer with the outside world."

The gods looked toward the dense grasp of the damned chain. In their eyes, the domain space formed by the grasp of the damned chain was entirely an informational black hole in the cosmos; they could see no information entering, nor any energy flowing out.

"Is he trying to perish with Sargeras? If so, how can we go in and help?"

Khaz'goroth looked at the Domination Domain before him, momentarily unsure what Arthas intended to do.

Golganneth shook his head. "I believe he doesn't need our help temporarily. The fact that he can trap Sargeras already proves he is powerful enough."

As if to confirm Golganneth's statement, Arthas's projection continued,

"I can briefly maneuver against Sargeras, so do not worry about my safety. However, I still lack the key factor for victory... and this is what I hope you can help me, and help Azeroth, achieve.

"I require the power of the Seat of the Pantheon. My battle with Sargeras there made me realize something: the Seat of the Pantheon must hold some Authority capable of restricting Sargeras. Unfortunately, I am not a Titan, so I cannot utilize this power.

"I will inflict as much damage on Sargeras as possible, hoping that the Titans' power can ultimately end Sargeras's madness."
