Ivy's POV
"Stay with me, baby." The worried whisper of my father penetrated the darkness surrounding me. I floated in nothingness, devoid of light or sound, with only his soft pleas reaching through. "Please don't leave me. I don't think I could go on without you. Nevermind ever facing your mother again."
I desperately wanted to comfort him. It's okay, Daddy. I made this choice willingly.
"You saved that family, even the parents. They are still touch and go, but they made it to the hospital. So you have to make it too." His voice gained strength, which brought a smile to my consciousness. At least they survived.
I attempted to move, to sit up, to roll over—anything—but remained paralyzed within this void. Was this what death truly was? The afterlife we've all wondered about? Where was the Goddess? My wolves?
We are here with you, Ivy. Killian's voice resonated within me. I focused inward and found them exactly where they'd always been, even before I knew of their presence.
