Chapter 62 - Deliverance

"Alright, I'm taking this one. If anyone tries to steal it from me, I'll get angry with them! Open up!!!" Swain declared as he walked to the door, kicking it open. If the Emperor didn't open the door, he was genuinely going to lose it.

Bang!

The tightly shut door burst open under Swain's kick. He strode out past the shocked Custodes and Sisters of Silence before the Custodes could even react to this disrespectful act towards the Emperor.

"Remember to assign a few Sisters of Silence squads for me to use," Swain's voice echoed from a distance before he disappeared.

"Yore, take three squads and follow Mister Swain. His words are my command." Before anyone could react, the Emperor's figure had appeared outside the door.

"Yes, My Lord," Yore replied, using sign language to indicate she had received the command.

As for the messy room behind him, it was naturally restored by the Emperor. How could Neos allow others to know that he had been fighting himself like a hooligan?

"Swain, everyone's proposing we rename Lycaeus to commemorate our new beginning. Do you have any suggestions?" Corax rushed over as soon as he received news that Swain had finished his meeting with the Emperor.

"Let everyone compile their suggested names and vote on them. We'll pick the one with the most votes; that should be the name everyone is happy with," Swain said with a smile, typing the name 'Deliverance' into the newly created voting platform.

"Hey, good name," Corax said, casting his vote.

As Swain sent out the link, Lycaeus immediately erupted into a lively discussion, with various names carrying beautiful meanings appearing on the information terminals.

Without any suspense, the name 'Deliverance' proposed by Swain took the top spot, far ahead of other names. From then on, Deliverance became the new name for Lycaeus.

The days of miners toiling on Lycaeus were about to become a thing of the past. The long-suffering people were about to embrace an era belonging to their own Deliverance.

"Respected Lord Corax, according to Imperial custom, every homeworld of a newly rejoined Primarch will enjoy the Empire's special tax exemption policy. The great Lord of the Empire has already instructed us that Deliverance is your homeworld, but considering the practical circumstances, Kiavahr will also be included as your homeworld.

Furthermore, this star system and any worlds your Legion conquers in the future will need to pay the normal tithe to the Empire. These are all your rights. If Lord Corax has any questions in the future, you can contact me at any time." An Internal Affairs Department director finished explaining the Emperor's preferential treatment for Primarchs in detail, then handed over his contact information and stood to leave.

"Corax, the Mechanicus representative from Graeae IV Forge World, the Archmagos, has arrived." As soon as the Internal Affairs Department director left, Swain reminded Corax that the Forge World representative had arrived.

This could be considered a manifestation of the Emperor's attention for his children. When a Primarch just returns to the Empire, without money or soldiers, shouldn't the old father provide some support?

Swain's current feeling was that of a wealthy old dad who, having found his long-lost son, was trying to compensate for his past neglect with various material things.

"It's good to have a rich old dad," Swain thought, recalling the house he had worked like a dog to buy in his previous life. How good would it be if he had such a wealthy dad?

Swain's envy was well-founded. Graeae IV Forge World would modify his Deliverance and Kiavahr according to Corax's requirements, which was a very large project.

Deliverance was a purely mining world, with only two mining domes and mine shafts extending deep into the planet like blood vessels. This meant the Forge World would need to expend a large amount of manpower and resources to modify it according to the requirements.

Kiavahr, which had just suffered a nuclear attack, was also a huge project. The best way to utilize an industrial world was undoubtedly to upgrade it towards a Forge World to maximize its potential. The cost of modifying these two was not low at all.

Swain and Corax felt no pressure about this; the Emperor would pay for it anyway. Even if the Emperor didn't pay, many Forge Worlds would rush to curry favor with the newly returned Primarchs, offering to modify their worlds for free.

The reason was simple: Astartes Legions were too powerful. As long as they secured this initial investment, the Forge World could be long-term bound to that Legion. Look at the Forge Worlds that followed Horus; they recovered all sorts of lost technologies and STC templates until their hands were sore, feasting on the profits. The Archmagos of other Forge Worlds were so envious their gears were practically smoking.

Fortunately, they knew there were 20 Primarchs, so they still had a chance. Now it was a matter of who had good luck and who had enough capital to cover the initial development costs of an entire Legion.

The Fabricator-General

"Praise the great Omnissiah! Greetings, Son of the Omnissiah." Kroll, the Fabricator-General of Graeae IV, walked in with heavy steps.

To say he walked was more like he squeezed in. To Swain's shocked eyes, a towering steel beast, draped in a crimson robe like dried blood, hunched itself into a ball and squeezed through the two-meter-wide, five-meter-high doorway.

"No, you're telling me this thing is human? Can this thing's flesh be stir-fried with some chili?" This was Swain's first thought.

Although he had learned about the Mechanicus faction from various official documents and media in his previous life, he still felt an extreme sense of shock when these steel beasts, labeled as monstrous units, appeared before him.

The Mechanicus was an organization that monopolized the Empire's technology and production capacity. After unifying Terra, the Emperor went to Mars and reached an agreement with the Mechanicus there. The Mechanicus was not an internal organization of the Empire but an ally, standing on equal footing with the Empire. It was also the only religious organization currently recognized by the Empire.

Sometimes, reality was just that absurd. The Mechanicus, which monopolized most of humanity's knowledge and production capabilities, was a religious organization. These red-robed tech-priests, who could both perform rituals and conduct scientific research, worshipped the Omnissiah, believing the Emperor to be the Omnissiah's incarnation on Earth.

At the same time, in addition to its vast Skitarii legions and a fleet independent of the Empire, the Mechanicus also controlled the Titan Legions, the God-Machines. These God-Machines, standing from over ten to over a hundred meters tall, walking upright, equipped with heavy void shields, and terrifying weapon platforms, could easily destroy the most fortified defensive strongholds.

Graeae IV had a Titan Legion called the War Griffons.
