Chapter 161 - Chapter 161 Don't Be Sad, Brother Sui

Su Qing lay on bed, staring at the ceiling, her ears filled with Jiang Sui's voice.

"Qing Qing, I'm going back to Jiangcheng tonight. I have classes tomorrow."

There were still some details he needed to discuss with Pei Dai.

"So, you've been running back and forth so much today, is it because of me?"

Su Qing had overlooked the fact that Jiang Sui had traveled between two cities in one day. She had actually assumed Jiang Sui would still be in Wuzhen.

Suddenly, she realized something.

"Qing Qing, it's not because of anyone, it's just that I miss you."

He seemed to be able to reach the bottom of her heart, whether it was discomfort or self-blame.

He prevented Su Qing from subconsciously assuming that his struggles were to blame.

"This is too tiring. When we were in Jiangcheng, you could have let me come back on my own."

She spoke with a hint of discomfort. She didn't want him to be so tired, yet he'd agreed to her request to do the test, like playing house, and even promise to each other.

She didn't expect him to finish faster than her, but that was fine.

She hadn't considered enough.

"Qing Qing, I wish I could be with you everyday. Don't say things like that."

"I'll do what I promised you, and I won't do anything you don't like."

The young man spoke slowly.

"You know what I'm talking about. Not only did you smoke, but you even dared to fix a match, got injured, and secretly investigated me...!"

A series of events flooded Su Qing's mind. He had taken on everything just to make her life better. Su Qing found this unacceptable.

Is she really that much weak?

"Qing Qing, I was wrong."

Jiang Sui's jaw was set tightly, and he spoke with such seriousness.

"Qing Qing, also, since meeting you in Wuzhen, I haven't smoked anymore. The amount of cigarettes you see is because I'm a little irritated, so I just sniff them, never light them."

He seemed to know exactly when and where she was talking, and he could explain it clearly.

"I don't use the lighter at home either, I just light it occasionally for fun."

It was also when she was irritated, but knowing she didn't like the smell of cigarettes, Jiang Sui really didn't touch it.

"Investigating you? That's because you asked me to go. Have you forgotten?"

Those hurtful words she'd said... Su Qing could still remember them vividly, even to the point of making some unfounded excuses.

"Qing Qing, I'm playing basketball because I really need to let go of my emotions. I'm afraid I'll hurt you."

The young man explained everything over the phone.

His voice was a little deep, and his mood seemed to have become much lower without the girl around.

Hearing this, Su Qing felt a little uncomfortable, blinking.

"Brother Sui, don't be sad."

She spoke softly and aggrievedly.

"Qing Qing, I'm not sad. I just miss you so much, like I want to put you in my pocket."

His heart and eyes were filled with the girl's presence. He said this to help Su Qing feel at ease, not to make her feel guilty.

He also didn't want her to worry.

"Qing Qing, we'll keep up our plans. Go to bed now. I arrived the airport. I'll text you after I get off the plane."

Seeing it was getting late, the boy urged Su Qing to go to bed.

Perhaps it was because of Jiang Sui's words, "Good night, I love you."

That night, Su Qing slept particularly soundly.

The next day, when Su Qing went to school, she briefly thought Jiang Sui was still at Wuzhen No. 1 Middle School.

She felt a little disappointed, but she quickly recovered.

From the moment Su Qing stepped into the campus, many eyes were fixed on her.

What happened?

Su Qing had never paid much attention to these things, but as she walked along, she felt more and more that something was amiss.

"Is that Su Qing?"

"Yes, it must be her. That's Su Qing, the one who stole best friend's boyfriend."

"I heard that girl was incredibly miserable when she died, and she even wrote some kind of book, some kind of letter, or something."

"No wonder a top student from Jiangcheng No. 1 High School would come to a school like ours in Wuzhen."

Rumors flew like wings into Su Qing's ears.

Her fingers tightened the straps of her school bag.

The constant gazes and voices made Su Qing quicken her pace, hurriedly heading into the classroom. They didn't stop when she reached her seat.

"No wonder you look so familiar."

The voice was very familiar; it belonged to Xu Miaoran. Su Qing looked up and saw the girl, with her fair face, standing in front her, looking her up and down.

Xu Miaoran, whose art exams had already concluded, looked at the girl's palm-sized face. She was thin and unremarkable, but now she looked quite pretty, especially her eyes, so clear, so pure.

She had been thoroughly investigating Su Qing for some time.

Xu Miaoran looked at Su Qing coldly who dares to snatch someone from her.

Su Qing pursed her lips, looking at the girl standing in front of her seat, blocking her view.

"Please move aside. Class is about to start."

She tried her best to speak calmly to Xu Miaoran. She hadn't forgotten the feeling of being hit by her bag in the hot pot restaurant.

Su Qing disliked that kind of overbearing attitude.

No one should ever feel superior to anyone else.

"It's still early, and it's morning self-study, and the teacher isn't here."

Xu Miaoran looked at Su Qing, a little orphan from such a poor family. What could Jiang Sui possibly be interested in her?

Incomprehensible, Xu Miaoran felt deeply annoyed, and she sat down in the empty seat next to Su Qing.

After changing her deskmate, Su Qing no longer had a deskmate.

The commotion here quickly caught the attention of the classmates.

"Su Qing seems simple, a pure person. I never thought she'd do something like that."

"So, you can't judge a book by its cover, and you can't measure the depth of the ocean by its surface."

The voices recklessly reached Su Qing's ears.

Why, just a weekend, Su Qing couldn't understand who had done what.

"Su Qing, didn't you tell me before that you didn't know Jiang Sui? Didn't you say the same thing when you stole your best friend's boyfriend that I don't know Li Xu."

Su Qing turned her head blankly and looked at Xu Miaoran, her gaze particularly, particularly cold.

Xu Miaoran was startled by Su Qing's look.

"What's wrong, Su Qing? You did something wrong, and you don't allow others to talk about it!"

"I think you're a habitual offender. You habitually want to steal other people's things, don't you?"

Xu Miaoran was surprised that she could still be frightened by Su Qing's look. She stared at Su Qing with wide eyes.

She's just an orphan, how can she be afraid of her?
