Chapter 154 - Chapter 154 Can't Get Rid Of It

She don't know why.

Mei Yeqin felt incredibly relaxed in front of Pei Dai.

May be it was because she stood in front him, completely empty, and he was just blushing, trying to find a way to hide?

Or something else, Mei Yeqin wasn't sure.

After a quick shower, she habitually enjoyed Pei Dai's blow-drying of her hair.

She seemed unburdened by his kindness to her, even claiming to be responsible for herself, despite his age.

Mei Yeqin felt a little annoyed at the thought and nudged Pei Dai with her hand.

Pei Dai, sensing Mei Yeqin's resistance as she rested her head on his lap, asked softly.

"What's wrong, Qinqin? Are you feeling unwell?"

She pushed his wrist, which was blow-drying her hair. "I don't want to blow dry anymore. Go wash up."

Rarely, almost never. Except for the time they broke up, Mei Yeqin had never resisted, or rather, never refused him to help her with anything.

It had been many years since Pei Dai heard, or perhaps sensed, her resistance again, and he lowered his brows.

"Okay, then sit and wait for me."

As Pei Dai put the hair dryer away, footsteps followed, and the bathroom door closed.

In the quiet air, a faint tinge of Mei Yeqin's irritation permeated.

She had always greatly liked, or perhaps admired, Pei Dai's innocence and his decisiveness. In this strange relationship, she was the mastermind.

But this time, she felt a little awkward.

She didn't know what the awkwardness was. Was he just too obedient?

Mei Yeqin didn't know until the man came out.

She noticed that after all these years, he still looked like he never tanned, even whiter than she was. His thin body was actually quite toned, with a very high muscle content.

He was almost thirty years old, but he still looked like a fresh-faced young man. On the contrary, when she looked in the mirror just now while washing up, she noticed wrinkles around her eyes.

"Qinqin, I'm done. Shall we go out?"

He always had a habit of asking her before anything he did.

Mei Yeqin frowned slightly, then suppressed the inexplicable emotions within her. "Okay."

Pei Dai stepped forward and touched her hair. While Mei Yeqin was stunned, she heard the man say,

"Now that your hair is dry, you won't catch a cold. Let's go."

As he spoke, he naturally took Mei Yeqin's finger. They walked out the door, interlocking their fingers, and went to the underground parking lot, and he fastened her seatbelt.

He took the driver's seat.

Mei Yeqin, whenever she was with Pei Dai, felt that he was as gentle as the wind, yet pervasive. In fact, over the years, during her time abroad, she would occasionally think of that boy, but that was all.

She had always felt that her desires were unbridled, and during her time abroad, she could easily find someone to comfort her.

There were also those who pursued her, but whenever she was about to do anything, Pei Dai's handsome face would flash through her mind.

Every time she thought of him, she felt that the blond, blue-eyed, or handsome young men around her were all so unsightly.

Not as good as Pei Dai. She even felt she had seduced him. If it wasn't her, she felt Pei Dai's light and pure personality seemed only suitable for becoming a monk in the mundane world.

As the car stopped, Mei Yeqin looked at Pei Dai's profile. He was handsome, though not particularly handsome.

She didn't know if her heart fluttered. She just felt comfortable, a comfort after all these years.

"Qinqin, get out of the car. This Cantonese restaurant is very good. You'll like it."

Only when Pei Dai opened the car door did Mei Yeqin come back to her senses.

It's not that she particularly enjoys Cantonese cuisine; it's just that its flavors are lighter, and she enjoys fresh flavors, so she prefers it more often. However, after many years of studying abroad, she's long since developed a fondness for cold dishes.

Bread, pasta, steak, this kind of food.

Cantonese cuisine was something she loved when she was younger.

Mei Yeqin followed Pei Dai inside and chose a secluded spot in the hall.

Pei Dai knew Mei Yeqin didn't like noise.

When it was time to order, when Pei Dai handed her the menu, Mei Yeqin waved her hand, indicating she didn't want to order anything.

Then Pei Dai rushed to order a ton of dishes, all of which were Mei Yeqin's favorites from college.

After they finished ordering, the waiter left with the menus, and Pei Dai realized that someone had been staring at him.

"All my favorites."

Pei Dai naturally understood Mei Yeqin's implication: You didn't order what you like.

He looked at Mei Yeqin, who was sipping tea from her cup.

"Whatever Qinqin likes, I like too."

He was actually quite reserved, but he always managed to say something that sounded like admiration or a confession. It was just that his eyes were so pure that Mei Yeqin couldn't sense any distracting thoughts.

She could only simply interpret it as simply liking the same dish.

But after saying this, Pei Dai felt nervous, feeling that his words had revealed his feelings, so he held his tea cup to conceal his nervousness.

But he hidely glance at Mei Yeqin. Her behavior was unremarkable, and he couldn't help but feel a little disappointed.

The dishes served quickly.

They both is that kind of people when sleep then silence, so the meal was remarkably quiet.

Pei Dai noticed that Mei Yeqin didn't seem to be eating much, so he used the serving chopsticks to help her with a few of her favorite dishes.

When they seemed almost done, Pei Dai breathed a sigh of relief. It wasn't her fault, though; the food wasn't as delicious as he'd imagined.

At this moment, Pei Dai was thinking about how he could get Mei Yeqin to eat the food that he cook.

There's a saying that goes, if you like someone, you can capture their stomach first.

He thought his cooking skills were pretty good.

The quiet moment they were dining was suddenly interrupted by a commotion from the dining hall.

"Well, Jiang Chenghua, you're going to abandon me, aren't you?"

A woman's loud call of the name caused Mei Yeqin to put down her bowl and chopsticks.

Jiang Chenghua...

That was Jiang Sui's father, Qinqin's brother-in-law.

"Jiang Chenghua, why do you always have the bad habit of abandoning your wife and children?"

The noise grew louder, even to the point of crying.

Mei Yeqin's expression grew increasingly grim.

"Jiang Chenghua, this woman looks remarkably like Mei Yeyun. Are you still unable to forget her?"

"Qinqin."

Mei Yeqin's patience reached its limit.

Inside the hall.

Snap!

A slap.

Cheng Man was a bit disoriented. Everyone in the hall, onlookers and those trying to break up the fight, was momentarily stunned by the sight of Mei Yeqin rushing out.

The woman was slender and thin, wearing a simple cardigan, her expression cold.
