The Tesseract wasn't mentioned for the first time in the diary.
Although there weren't many descriptions, judging from the tone between the lines, it was undoubtedly an extraordinary item.
Even just looking at the name, you could tell: it was a "cosmic" cube.
Something that could have "cosmic" as a prefix, how could it be ordinary? Not to mention.
This thing even caused Loki from Asgard to launch a war to seize it! That old Nick Fury also wanted to secretly research a super weapon to deal with alien threats using this Tesseract.
Could this kind of thing be simple?
But Tony Stark never expected that the Tesseract could be so amazing!
Modifying the past?
This was a bit too exaggerated, right? Even with the playboy's extremely high IQ and knowledge far exceeding the average person, he still couldn't quite understand what exactly modifying the past meant.
The past is what has already happened, a person's past experiences. How can that be modified?
Could it be modifying time?
Traveling to the past and changing a person's past experiences?
But it's clear that the diary's modification of the past doesn't mean that.
After all, modifying time affects more than just Captain America!
Due to the butterfly effect, any small change, amplified by the river of time, would cause earth-shattering changes.
Not to mention changing Captain America's past into a Hydra agent, a near-total transformation.
This kind of change would cause the entire future to be similarly unrecognizable!
And according to the diary's description, it's clear that the futures of everyone else haven't changed.
Captain America's future hasn't changed either, only his past has.
So, what exactly is going on with this thing that only changes his own past, without affecting anyone else?
It doesn't seem to be through time travel.
But aside from time travel, what other method could possibly do something like this?
Could it be a modification of Captain America's memories? But if it was just memory modification, the diary would have said so directly. Why would it say "modify the past"? The playboy fell into a brief moment of confusion.
However, one thing was absolutely certain: the Tesseract was definitely an incredibly overpowered item! "Modify the past?"
Nick Fury also fell into deep thought. Could this be the true function of the Tesseract?
It has to be said, it's really tempting!
Regardless of how this "modify the past" thing works, the effects are astonishing.
It was actually able to turn the impeccable Captain America into someone completely different!
If he controlled this power, wouldn't that mean Nick Fury could bring anyone into his service?
Could he eliminate any enemy silently and smoothly? This power was truly astonishing! He just didn't know what kind of person could truly master the Tesseract's incredible power. [But another problem arose: If Red Skull was really on Vormir, Captain America would be fine, but Black Widow would be the one in trouble!]
[Poor Black Widow, the other Avengers were in charge of stones that were nothing special, you just had to get your hands on them.]
[But the stone that Black Widow and Hawkeye Barton were in charge of was special; it actually needed a sacrifice of a person's soul!]
[Poor Black Widow, in order to get the stone, she sacrificed herself and her soul!]
[Natasha's death was tragic!]
[It was as tragic as Iron Man's death, and it also brought tears to countless people.]
"So, this is how I died?"
Black Widow stared intently at the diary in front of her, her expression serious as she murmured the words aloud.
The diary had already mentioned her death. As a field agent who constantly danced on the edge of death, Black Widow was actually quite open-minded about life and death.
She wasn't afraid of her own demise, and her emotions remained steady.
However, Black Widow had always been very curious about her death.
Because her death was clearly not ordinary.
Black Widow's death couldn't even be undone by "The Snap," which could save other people's lives!
So, Black Widow had always been very curious about how she died.
And now, she finally had the answer.
It had to be said, it was far beyond Black Widow's expectations.
Black Widow couldn't have predicted that she would die on an alien planet! And it was because she obtained a stone and sacrificed her soul! Was this the reason why "The Snap" couldn't revive her?
"The Infinity Stones?"
Black Widow's gaze darkened, and she made such a logical deduction.
Although the diary didn't specify, there was no doubt that this stone was very likely an Infinity Stone.
So, this was the reason why Red Skull appeared on Vormir? He, like her future self, had gone there for an Infinity Stone? But why did the diary say that Red Skull was a guide?
Was there any connection between being a guide and searching for an Infinity Stone? Because there was too little information from the spoilers, Black Widow couldn't figure out Red Skull's true purpose no matter how much she thought about it.
And besides that.
According to the diary's description, it seems that in the future, the Avengers begin a full-scale search and collection of the Infinity Stones.
Everyone, or each team, is responsible for one of the stones.
And she, Black Widow, and her partner, Hawkeye Barton, are in charge of the stone on Vormir!
The tragic thing is, the stone on this planet requires a sacrifice of a soul to obtain it.
So Black Widow sacrificed herself to get the stone.
The whole process isn't complicated; a top-tier agent like Black Widow can figure it out with a little analysis.
The only question is, why would the Avengers collect the stones in the future?
The diary also mentioned in the previous spoilers that Thanos, this super boss, actually has multiple "versions":
Ordinary Thanos, Thanos with multiple gems, Thanos with all the gems.
The strength of each different "version" of Thanos is not the same, and it can even be said that there is a huge gap in strength.
Behind this phenomenon, there is actually an obvious logic hidden.
The Infinity Stones shouldn't belong to Thanos!
After all, the gems in Thanos's hands had a clear process of going from few to many.
Why is that?
It's obvious that Thanos, in fact, like the future Avengers, was collecting the Infinity Stones.
And in the end, Thanos succeeded!
A world-shattering war erupted between him and the Avengers.
Even though Captain Marvel utterly destroyed him in that battle.
So, the Avengers were gathering the Infinity Stones to fight Thanos, or rather, to stop Thanos from collecting the Infinity Stones?
Or was it something else?
"Vormir!"
Nick Fury's single eye gleamed, fixed on the name.
The Director certainly hadn't heard of this planet before, but it was an important piece of information for him.
After all, an Infinity Stone was hidden on this planet!
Of course, even if S.H.I.E.L.D. was incredibly powerful, they couldn't possibly know anything about Vormir.
But for Nick Fury, it wasn't a hopeless situation.
Knowing Danvers, she's out there in space, so she might actually know Vormir!
The only problem is, Danvers doesn't really consider Earth a priority.
Nick Fury wouldn't actually recall Danvers for something so trivial.
But even so, it's not a problem.
In this era of superheroes running amok, Earth has obviously developed the ability to travel between stars.
Stark, Spider-Man, and Doctor Strange went to Titan. Bruce Banner went to Sakaar. Barton and Black Widow went to Vormir.
Once Earth truly masters this method, investigating Vormir won't be too late.
Right now, it's indeed a bit premature.
So, as I've said before, Black Widow's life was actually quite tragic. Thanos killed so many people, yet they could be saved, but Black Widow couldn't be.
"It's really quite sad."
"Looking at the entire Avengers roster, almost everyone has some kind of extraordinary ability. Especially in the later stages, with all sorts of big players showing up, there were plenty who could take on Thanos."
"People like Black Widow and Hawkeye Barton, who were purely ordinary, were really rare."
"Even Falcon, didn't he have his Falcon wings?"
"But one thing is undeniable: the Avengers couldn't do without Black Widow!"
"In many important battles, Black Widow played a crucial, even decisive, role."
"Let's not talk about anything else, but the Battle of New York. Who really ended that war? Black Widow!"
"If Black Widow hadn't closed the Portal in time, the Avengers really wouldn't have won!"
It's truly heartbreaking!
Tony Stark agreed wholeheartedly.
Thinking about Black Widow's past, as revealed in the diary, and then imagining her heroic death, sacrificing her soul, even a playboy like him couldn't help but be moved.
What's worse is that others could be brought back with The Snap, but not Black Widow!
It was just so messed up.
However, the future Avengers seemed pretty impressive.
After sighing softly, Tony Stark couldn't help but exclaim.
According to the diary's spoilers, the original Avengers seemed to only have five, or maybe six, members.
The strongest fighters are basically him and Thor.
Of course, if Bruce Banner was around, the Hulk could be counted as well.
This lineup certainly looks impressive now, but it's clearly not enough if we're talking about the future age of superheroes.
Fortunately, this is just the original Avengers. The future Avengers will obviously grow and reach a peak.
He wondered if the Scarlet Witch, Doctor Strange, Vision, and the Ancient One, mentioned in the diary before, were also members of the Avengers?
Those big shots were uncertain, but the diary gave everyone another definite answer: Falcon.
Isn't that the third Captain America?
This is interesting. The first and third Captain Americas are both Avengers, so what about the second Captain America?
"Portal!"
As Tony Stark's eyes landed on that word, his expression immediately hardened.
The diary had already revealed that a nuclear missile and a wormhole had appeared during the Battle of New York. Of course, the wormhole was the Portal.
But this information was fragmented and didn't connect with the existing intel.
The playboy naturally couldn't analyze much from it.
But now it seemed that the Portal was important to this extent, even becoming the decisive factor in the Battle of New York!
The diary was very clear.
If Black Widow hadn't closed the Portal in time, the Avengers wouldn't have won at all.
So, conversely, did that mean the Avengers won because the Portal was closed?
A Portal, without a doubt, was used for transportation.
Black Widow closed the Portal, which meant she interrupted the transportation!
And when that transportation was interrupted, the Avengers achieved victory in the Battle of New York.
So, what exactly was being transported that was so important?
Considering the backdrop of the Chitauri invasion during the Battle of New York, Tony Stark immediately came to an obvious conclusion:
What the Portal was transporting was definitely the Chitauri fleet!
Then the facts became clear.
The Portal that appeared during the Battle of New York was created by the Chitauri, or perhaps Loki!
The purpose was to transport the Chitauri army to invade New York.
Up until now, the mysterious veil of the Battle of New York had finally been partially lifted, revealing more of its true nature.
However…
Another question couldn't help but flash through Tony Stark's mind.
Since the Battle of New York had been won, as officially confirmed by the diary, then why was a nuclear missile used in this battle?
Was it because, even after Black Widow closed the Portal, a large Chitauri fleet was already present in New York?
Even if it was just that portion of the Chitauri army, the Avengers couldn't handle it, so a nuclear missile was launched?
Or, was it that the human government launched a nuclear missile to eliminate a wave of Chitauri, but then found that the enemy was still appearing continuously?
And then they discovered the Portal and closed it?
Both of these scenarios seemed possible to Tony Stark.
But which situation it is, is impossible to determine right now.
[Furthermore, throughout the entire Battle of New York, the Avengers were essentially played by Loki.]
[The alliance almost got wiped out by Loki before the war even began.]
[Barton was controlled by Loki and almost wrecked the Helicarrier.]
[If Stark hadn't been so capable and repaired the engine in time, the Avengers would have been defeated by Loki before they even got started.]
[Even so, Hulk almost tore the Helicarrier apart, Thor fell from ten thousand meters and turned into a mess, and Coulson was killed directly.]
[Only Black Widow, using her excellent spy skills, tricked Loki and learned his plan!]
[Loki is the God of Mischief, but he failed in his most proficient field and was outmaneuvered by Black Widow.]
