Inside the dungeon…
Ravena and Radiance sat on Regal's back as he maneuvered through the dungeon corridor.
"Hurry up," Ravena demanded.
"Yeah!" Radiance agreed. "I want treasure! Move it!"
Regal kept running until they reached an edge, and he had to quickly stop before they all fell into the endless chasm below. There was a small ledge on the other side, leading to a corridor. Ravena casually stepped off. "A bottomless pit. We need to get to the other side."
She dug around in her pocket, looking for a trinket. "I can't use the trinket that brought us here, otherwise we'll be stranded. There's nothing I can use."
Ravena pointed to the chasm. "Regal. Jump down there and see what happens. Now."
He gave her a bow and jumped down. Radiance watched for a bit. "I think he died!"
"Too bad," Ravena dismissed. "Focus. We need to find a way across."
"Never mind!"
With a burst of black energy, Regal jumped onto the other ledge, standing there and flexing his hands. Ravena and Radiance had a brief look of surprise on their faces before Regal turned around.
"Hey!" Radiance called out. "Whatever you just did, do it again and get us over!"
"Sure thing," he replied, his voice flat.
With a surge of black energy, he lifted his sisters into the air and brought them down onto the ledge. Radiance shuddered. "So cold!"
"The dungeon continues," Ravena stated. "Let's go."
Regal's body twitched. "As you command, my genius sister."
They walked through the halls, and Regal walked behind them, N talking in his head. "Why don't you let me kill them? It would be delicious. They deserve it, do they not?"
"Come on, N!" Regal refused. "They're family! Sure, they're evil jerks, mass murderers, and narcissistic monsters, but Dad would be really unhappy if you offed them!"
"Yes, right…" N commented. "Your father."
"How do you know him, anyway?" Regal asked.
"We go way back," N answered. "Long before your mother was even born. Long before this planet was born."
"What are you, some devil god?"
N laughed, which hurt Regal's ears. "You mortals and your humor. Be careful, there are traps in here."
"Trap? Where?"
"Below your foot."
Regal looked down, noticing a pressure plate below his foot. Ravena and Radiance turned around, noticing it too. Ravena quickly scanned the area. "You triggered a trap. Danger's coming."
Regal noticed a barrage of lasers emerging from the wall. "Crap! N?"
His body twitched, hair growing and falling over his face. In the blink of an eye, he darted between Ravena and Radiance, forming a force field of black energy around them. "Forward."
He marched forward as the lasers harmlessly bounced off his shield. Ravena and Radiance kept pace with him until they reached the end, where it was another long corridor with 2 doors on each side.
"I didn't know you could do that!" Radiance gasped. "You've been hiding stuff! Unacceptable!"
"Whatever it is, you use it to protect our lives at all costs, got it?" Ravena ordered.
Regal took an elegant bow, kissing Ravena's heel. "Yes, my dear sister."
Ravena looked down, satisfied, before scanning the doors. "There's likely loot behind these doors. Let us try the first one."
"Yeah!" Radiance agreed. "Hope we find some treasure!"
Regal twitched as they walked over to the door. "That was a bit over the top for you, N."
"These creatures are gullible beings, just like all mortals," N replied. "Submission and praise work on them just as well as mind control. The more authority one has, the more delusional they become."
"What are your goals, N?" Regal asked.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk," she said. "I can't share those with you now. It'll ruin the surprise. Besides, you won't understand yet."
"Well, do they involve me?"
"Of course! I formed a contract with you for a reason, silly!"
"I have a feeling they won't be good," Regal worried.
"Don't trouble your little head about that," N suggested. "Enjoy this newfound position, and take hold of the dungeon's loot!"
"When you put it like that…alright."
He followed his sisters into the first room, where there was a bunch of young adventurers scavenging the place. There were golden artifacts and trophies everywhere, along with large jewelry. Radiance stepped forward. "Hey, dweebs! We're taking everything now!"
One of the boys paused. "What?"
Ravena stepped forward. "You heard my sister. This belongs to us."
Before they could protest, Radiance pointed a finger at them, and they all snapped their own necks. She giggled and jumped over their bodies, diving into the loot. "Ooh! Shiny!"
Ravena picked up one of the corpses and examined it. "This is coming home with me. I need a muscular base."
She pulled out what appeared to be a stopwatch. Quickly, it absorbed the body before closing. Ravena stood up. "As for the rest…"
She touched the ground, and they all revived as zombies. "Pick up this loot and put it in your bags. Don't spill a single drop."
She glared at them, expectantly. "You heard me."
Regal knelt down next to Ravena. "Sister…so commanding, so brilliant…I could never compare."
Ravena looked back at him. "It's good you know. No one can compare to me. Especially not you."
N chuckled in Regal's ear. "See? How foolhardy!"
"Uh, well," Regal said back. "They all take that aspect from Mom. They love praise."
"Praise should be earned, not given," N declared.
"Tell that to my sisters."
"This one's clear!" Radiance announced. "Let's loot the next vault!"
Regal dropped to the ground. "You lovely ladies get on my shoulders. I'll carry you!"
"Wait," Regal thought. "Can I carry them?"
"Don't be afraid," N assured. "Your strength is much greater now that I'm inside of you. Though you were incredibly weak before my possession. It's a miracle you have this much willpower, with the body you were born with."
"Rude," Regal remarked.
Ravena and Radiance got on his shoulders and he used his arms to support them. "Where should I take you, princesses?"
Radiance pointed to the vault next to the one they left. "That one!"
"I can sense someone inside," Ravena noticed. "Another thorn to kill."
"Then let's kill them!" Radiance cheered. "Go forth, Regal!"
They entered the next vault, where a massive Minotaur was waiting for them, who bellowed a hearty laugh. "Three puny children? They said there would be competition in this dungeon!"
"A Minotaur," Ravena recognized. "They were rumored to have gone extinct centuries ago."
The Minotaur scanned them, a perplexed look on his face. "You guys look familiar, but different at the same time. Whatever. In your brief moments left alive, you can call me Ken. And if you want this loot, you're gonna have to—-!"
Radiance pointed her finger at him. "Shut up and die."
He quickly snapped his own neck, dropping to the floor. Regal stared at the body, shocked. "Whoa, she just brought down that thing with ease!"
Ravena motioned to her undead army. "Grab everything from the vault as well. Go, I don't want to be here all day!"
They all opened their bags and stuffed the treasure inside. Ravena's eyes began to glow dark purple, and suddenly, Ken's body got up, turning into a zombie.
"Now you're mine to command," Ravena stated.
"Yes…Princess Ravena."
"Shall I take you to the next vault, my lovely princesses?" Regal questioned.
"Yes," Ravena replied. "Take us."
"Okay," Regal thought. "This is getting tiring. N, could you please take over for me?"
"Nope," she refused.
"N!"
"Call me if you need me. I won't spend all day pampering these spoiled brats. If I shift again for trivial reasons, I'll kill them and blow this place to hell."
"N! That's not nice!"
"It wasn't intended to be."
Regal shook his head and left the vault, moving on to the next one. Inside, it had various pieces of armor in armor stands, ranging from gold to diamond, to jade, to even platinum.
"These can go to," Ravena said. "Grab them."
Her undead minions quickly scooped up the armor and bagged it, but Radiance snagged the jade helmet. "Ooh! I want this!"
She put it on her head, and Ravena scoffed. "Way too big for you. Dimensions are for an adult woman of Mother's size, not an eight-year-old child."
"Ravena," Regal interrupted. "What do you want me to do about that?"
Ravena looked up, where there was a shiny green orb locked in a display case. Ravena straightened up. "It looks priceless. Grab it."
Regal walked over and touched the display case, but the moment he did, the floor beneath them opened, causing them to fall.
"AHHHH!"
The three fell down a large pit, and Ravena managed to land on one of the nearby ledges, with Radiance falling on top of her. "Ow."
"Thanks for breaking my fall!" she giggled. "Where are we?"
"Appears to be the lower levels," she analyzed. "That orb was a trap."
She looked down below, but there was nothing but blackness. "Regal seems to have disappeared. He's a useful minion for me. I'll need to find him."
"You mean I'll need to find him!" Radiance clarified. "Who else will I have do my bidding without question?"
"Incorrect. Now let us loot the rest of this dungeon and find our incompetent brother."
Down below…
Regal opened his eyes, noticed he was being held by someone floating above the ground. When he looked up, a bottomless abyss where eyes should have been greeted him, and he jumped back. "Ahh!"
He landed on his butt, noticing N hovering over him. "N! When did you leave my body?"
"Before you landed," she said. "I didn't want to risk you dying and taking months to revive, so I saved you. Where's my thank you?"
"Thanks…?" he replied, confused.
She landed on the ground gracefully. "My benevolence knows no bounds. You are welcome."
"I wouldn't say THAT, heh!"
He got up. "It seems we've landed deeper in the dungeon. Any ideas on where to go?"
She pointed straight ahead. "FORWARD."
Her voice came out deep and ancient, making Regal feel a bit nervous. "Forward it is!"
They walked through the corridor, with Regal aimlessly following N as she walked past door after door. "Hey, N, I think you're missing out on some pretty good vaults!"
"They have nothing in them," she stated. "They are traps."
She kicked open one of the doors, and a tempest of blades fired out, which all bounced off her flesh. "Like I said."
"What's up ahead?" Regal asked.
"The heart of the dungeon."
They advanced further until a bright white light emerged, and N took Regal's hand and guided him through the door, where there was a giant arena-style stadium surrounding them. Thousands of monsters were sitting in the seats, while there was a golden heart in the middle of the floor, guarded by a large giant in robes.
"You have successfully made it into the Central Chamber," the giant congratulated.
"The Heart of Creation…" N recognized.
"You are familiar with this treasure?" the giant wondered. "Odd. Not many have been alive so long to have familiarity with it."
N began to walk toward the heart. Regal called after her. "N! Wait! What if it's a trap!"
She continued walking forward, reaching out to grab the heart, but the giant gripped her arm before she could. "No ma'am. You're not getting the heart that easily."
With an effortless flick of her arm, she sent the giant flying into the stands. "Get off me."
She swiped the heart and walked back toward Regal. "Come on, Regal. We're leaving."
Regal was prepared to say something, but a large shadow appeared behind N, and when she turned around, she noticed the giant had taken off his robes, now only in a loincloth, showing off his massive muscles. "Did you think you could really best Hiryokami, the God of Strength, so easily?"
"That's where I recognized you from," N remarked. "How amusing. Now goodbye."
She turned to leave, but he grabbed her and Regal, throwing them into the middle of the arena. "You're not leaving with that heart! So choose! The heart, or your lives?"
N offered her hand to Regal. "Regal. Merge with me."
"Merge?"
"Yes," she insisted. "Allow me to unleash my true power. You might not be able to handle it, though."
He took her hand. "That's fine! If I die, I can always come back!"
She laughed. "Such naivety."
BOOM.
Hiryokami brought his arms down, crushing the pair beneath them. Shockingly, he felt a resistance below his hands, and he saw a black figure in a cape lifting them.
"Impossible!"
Regal, now wearing a dark black outfit and with four dark black eyes, lifted the giant into the air.
"Nothing's impossible."
And in N's voice, he spoke.
"Commencing Dungeon Boss Execution."
