Chapter 2 - Chapter 1

"Ren Harper, Male 28, Dead, Cause Unknown," a police officer said as he talked to his superior."Any open wounds or visible trauma?""None, Sir. Looks like a heart attack...""Poor soul, may he rest in peace. Come, wrap it up." The superior said as he walked away. Since no crime seemed to be committed, send the body to a hospital for examination and go about his work.

...............

Meanwhile, in an office somewhere, Ren was looking at his body in confusion.Didn't I get rammed by a damn Truck? Ren thought as he looked at his body. He was walking from work to his house, and all of a sudden a truck fell from the sky and rammed him into the ground. This makes no sense, Ren thought as he looked around. Similarly, there were 10 others with him, of which there were 6 Japanese teenage boys, 2 teenage girls, an old man, and a baby... yes, a baby.

"Well hello there, ya'all, line up obediently and hear my explanation," a voice came from the door as a person walked in — a woman so beautiful Ren was sure she was a supermodel.

SNAP The woman snapped her fingers and everyone quieted down and stood in a horizontal line in front of her.

I can't control my body... Ren thought as he looked at this beauty in awe.

"Now here is the thing, ya'all have been chosen by the Truck-God. For what purpose, I don't know, so don't ask. All I am gonna tell you is you're gonna be randomly reincarnated into different worlds. Just know that you have been chosen because you were about to die in your world and that's why you were given the chance. We didn't rob any of you of your lives back on Earth." The woman said as she looked at them, seeing the different emotions in their eyes, aside from the baby who was just sleeping right now.

"I will give each of you 100 hours to choose 1 item from the ROB-Market. The Truck-God will reimburse the cost so don't worry about the cost. Any 1 item to your liking. Afterwards, I will answer 1 question from each of you. See you all in 100 hours."SNAP The woman snapped her fingers and everyone disappeared except for her and the baby."And you, what do I do with you... let me reincarnate you into a loving home with a luck talent. It is unlucky that your house burned down and you would have all died. Good luck in this life, kid." The woman looked at the baby lovingly and snapped her fingers again. The baby transformed into a golden light and disappeared.

Meanwhile, on Ren's side, everyone disappeared except for him — at least that was from his point of view. A massive screen appeared and showed a market. Looking at it, it was very simple.

Welcome To the ROB-Market, Please navigate to your desired item.

Talents

Bloodlines

Systems

.....

.....

And the list went down to pretty much infinity, it felt like. Ren, an avid reader of novels and fanfics, clicked on Systems. After all, they are always hella broken.

Eternal Ascendance SystemAllows the user to "prestige" infinitely, resetting levels for massive stat boosts and unlocking new divine skills each cycle.Flaw: Each reset temporarily erases memory of the previous cycle, risking loss of knowledge.

Alchemy Fusion SystemYou can fuse two or more items, creatures, or spells into one hybrid with combined properties. For example, merging a fire spell with a sword to create a flaming blade, or merging a wolf with a hawk for a new hybrid beast companion.Flaw:The fusion only lasts for 10 minutes and puts enormous strain on your body. After a fusion ends, you suffer intense physical pain and fatigue that can leave you bedridden for hours. If you fuse incompatible items or beings, the result can be unstable or even backfire disastrously, hurting you or your allies.

Loot Drop Rate Booster SystemPassive boost: +100% chance to get rare loot from any monster or chest. Activatable buff: "Loot Frenzy" doubles drop amount for 10 minutes, 1-hour cooldown. Can hold 2 charges of "Loot Frenzy."Flaw:After "Loot Frenzy" ends, your luck stat drops by 15% for 30 minutes, increasing chance of bad status effects like curse or poison. If you die during "Loot Frenzy," all collected rare loot from that session is lost.

...Looking at a few, he was pretty much gobsmacked. These can definitely be amazing cheats, however they seem to be limited to certain worlds or more like, not made for many worlds. In a game-like world with drops, the Loot Drop system would be insane. With levels, the Prestige would be OP, etc. But what if one gets reincarnated in a world without levels or drops?

Ren thought hard but in the end decided not to take a risk. He still did not know which world he would reincarnate in and there was no system that gave him a massive boost without flaws.Seems like all flawed systems are sent here.

Similarly, he looked at bloodlines, as a strong bloodline would definitely be OP no matter what world he goes to. After looking around, a few caught his eye but similarly everything seemed to have a flaw.

Bloodline of the PhoenixYou carry the essence of the mythical phoenix in your veins. You can heal rapidly from injuries, even regrowing lost limbs over time. When near death, your body bursts into flames, incinerating nearby enemies but leaving you weakened afterward.Flaw:Your resurrection flames burn uncontrollably once triggered, often harming innocent allies or destroying your surroundings. Each revival leaves you physically and mentally exhausted, and repeated resurrections risk permanent loss of humanity—turning you into a living flame that cannot control itself.

Bloodline of the StormcallerYou can summon and control storms—lightning, wind, thunder—at will. Your presence can darken skies, and you can harness electricity to boost your speed and reflexes or unleash devastating bolts.Flaw:Your power is tied to your emotions: intense anger or sadness can trigger uncontrollable storms, putting allies and innocents at risk. After heavy use, your body is drained and vulnerable to shock, and you suffer migraines or deafness. Storms also attract dangerous creatures and enemies who seek your power.

......."Everything is so broken but similarly so unreliable. If I knew what world I would be reborn in, this would be easy. I should take a generally good ability without flaws or the least impactful flaws — an ability that would be good in the majority of fantasy worlds and maybe even in a non-fantasy world," Ren thought out loud and looked at Talents.

Talent: Beast TongueYou can communicate and bond with animals instinctively, understanding their emotions and intentions. Animals are drawn to you and will often aid you willingly.Flaw:Your connection with beasts makes human social interaction awkward or uncomfortable. You often think in primal terms and can struggle with complex emotions or subtle social cues.

After looking for around 90 hours, he finally found one that is useful and with limited flaws.

Skill: Intentional Energy WeavingYou can create magical constructs—such as weapons, tools, or fantastical items—by shaping your inner energy and imbuing them with specific abilities through your focused intent. Once formed, these constructs maintain themselves using their own stored energy, allowing them to operate independently until that energy is depleted. For example, you might craft a sword that shoots wind blades; the sword continues to function and release attacks as long as its internal energy lasts.Flaws:The construct only lasts while its internal energy supply holds out—once it runs out, the construct instantly disappears. If your understanding of the item or your intent is unclear or incomplete, the construct may be unstable, behave unpredictably, or function poorly.Creating complex or powerful constructs requires a large initial energy investment and precise mental focus; mistakes can cause feedback, mental strain, or instability.Constructs can leak or lose their stored energy faster if damaged or overused beyond their design, causing premature collapse. You cannot create living beings or sentient constructs; your creations are limited to inanimate or magical objects without consciousness.

After looking at it for a good hour, he mentally decided to take this, for a few simple reasons. It does not say any kind of energy, just internal energy. This means it can be mana, chakra, qi, ki, or whatever. So it is very versatile. Similarly, the flaws are mostly for the constructs themselves and don't affect me if I don't use it. That means in a normal world this has no impact on me.

Just for fun, he kept looking but found nothing more, as 90% of the items had major flaws that would be very bad if they were not in the right world, and the other 9.99999...% were world-bound and would be useless if in the wrong fantasy world.

One was truly broken — if it was in the right world, that is.

Skill: Absolute Ki SovereigntyPower:You possess total mastery over your internal Ki, allowing you to manipulate it to an almost godlike degree. You can instantly convert Ki into devastating energy blasts, unstoppable physical enhancements, impenetrable defenses, and reality-bending techniques. Your Ki can heal your body at superhuman speeds, amplify your senses beyond natural limits, and even temporarily grant you multiple simultaneous forms or states of being.Limitless Ki Reserves: Your Ki regenerates at an unprecedented rate, essentially never running out during combat or long endeavors.Perfect Ki Control: You can reshape your Ki into any form or effect instantly and flawlessly, with no energy loss or delay.Ki Absorption: You can absorb and assimilate other sources of Ki or similar energies, further increasing your power exponentially.Ki Clones: You can create multiple fully functional Ki clones that share your power and intelligence, effectively multiplying your combat presence infinitely.Ki Barrier: A nearly invulnerable shield that nullifies all attacks and effects unless the attacker has equal or greater power.Flaws:Absolute Ki Sovereignty requires an intense mental and spiritual focus; losing concentration for even a moment can cause your Ki forms to falter, but this is rare due to your immense training. Overuse can cause brief moments of dizziness or slight fatigue, but these are minimal and quickly recovered. Your overwhelming power can unintentionally intimidate or alienate allies and innocent bystanders, making social interactions difficult.

......................."Yea, can't risk it." Ren shook his head and waited until the last 5 minutes. After finding nothing else, he bought the Energy Weaving skill. A few minutes later, after a brief flash, everyone was back.

"Now that you all have chosen your purchase, I will answer your questions, each. One per person from left to right," the woman said as she smiled at a Japanese teenage boy, who I could swear was pushing his shirt down.

"Goddess, can I have your number?" The teenage boy said as he looked at the woman shyly."No." The woman smiled and looked at the next person.

Idiot wasted one of our questions... Ren grumbled internally. They each had one, and they needed to each ask a different question to get the most information. Thankfully the rest were not that clueless and horny for a woman.

"Goddess, can we choose which world we reincarnate into?""No.""Can you tell us which world we reincarnate into?""No."

As I thought, this is a gamble, and looking at them, most seem to have taken a very specific purchase.

"What happens if we reincarnate in a world where our purchase has no effect?""Then it is useless. If you have a 100000 EXP multiplier but are in a world that is not game-like without EXP gain whatsoever, it is useless." The woman giggled as she directly revealed his purchase.

"Will Bloodlines take effect also in worlds of no magical origin?" A girl asked as she looked at the woman."Naturally, however their strengths and effects may vary if not in the right world for them.""Will the bloodlines be transferred to our children?" the other girl asked."Naturally, though it will grow weaker with each generation — simple genetics. 100% and 0% medium is 50% and so on and so forth."

"What happened to the baby?" The old man asked."He got reincarnated into a better world." The woman smiled, to which the old man smiled in return.

"Is there any way to go back to our old world?""There is always a way if you are strong enough, but then again, by the time you all reach that level Earth might already be swallowed by its sun."

"Will we reincarnate again if we die?""No."

Ren was the last to ask and after a deep thought he asked the following:"Do we keep our memories in our next life?" The others all realized then that this was probably the most important question, for if they don't, then they are pretty much dead.

"Oh, nice catch. Yes and no, you do keep your memories about you and your family and everything, however you don't remember any memories of this meeting or how you died. For you it will be like you died and got reincarnated with a special item, ability, system, talent, skill, etc." The woman giggled a bit, to which we all released a sigh of relief.

"Now, up you go, I have things to do." SNAP The woman snapped her fingers and all 10 people disappeared in a flash of light.

"Ahh Truck-Kun, do you think any of which has a chance to reach godhood?""I don't know, it depends on the world they go to and how much ambition they have." The sound came out of everywhere as the woman shook her head. "With those flawed purchases, surely they can't reach the top."

"One god's trash is another mortal's treasure, Ariel, never underestimate the power of mortals. Don't forget, 90% of the high gods started out as mortals. Very few born gods reach that level. The struggles they go through and the drive they inherit during the journey is much more important than an item or a skill. Then again, there are quite a few broken ones, even for a god."

"Yes, 3 were taken this time — Energy Weaving, Divine Command, and Void Walker's Cloak.""One utility, one that can control even weak gods, and one that can go wherever they want in an instant."

"Who do you think has the biggest chance?" The woman said as she looked at the room."That old man, John Trust, with his Void Walker's Cloak. If he has any ambition he can reach the top of his world instantly. Not to mention the Divine Command user." Truck-Kun said as the room shook a bit.

"What about the Energy Weaver?""Ah, Energy Weaver, depends on him. Imagination is key for that ability."

The room then exploded and the woman was standing there in a black void."Well, good luck then Batch.199." As she said, she also disappeared, leaving the void a black stillness.
