Makarov led Noah aside and said seriously, "To learn magic, you first need to understand some basic truths. In our world, 'magic particles' exist between all things between heaven and earth, within nature itself. These magic particles constantly flow and circulate among all things, and the magic we use originates from them. By controlling the magic within our own bodies, we can cast spells."
"Noah, remember this well every power that seems to defy common sense is still born from within it. Magic isn't some miracle pulled from nowhere. It is the 'flow of energy' within our bodies resonating with the flow of energy in nature, and from that resonance, magic manifests."
"Magic is the product of condensing your mental strength and focus no, it is the act of pouring your entire soul into it."
"To make progress along the path of a Mage, you must discover the path you truly believe in… and then walk forward on it without hesitation."
"Oh, oh, oh!"
Even though I've seen this scene countless times in the anime, hearing Makarov say it to me in person still gives me goosebumps!
Noah's heart raced with excitement as Makarov's words sank in.
After this, Makarov taught Noah the proper way to meditate and then had him try it for himself.
Sitting cross-legged on the ground, Noah followed the method he had just been taught.
As soon as he entered the meditative state, he felt countless tiny particles flowing into his body, gradually merging into a current of energy that grew steadily stronger inside him.
From his position nearby, Makarov watched as the magic in the air surged toward Noah at an astonishing speed so quickly that it created a faint whirlwind around him. The guild master couldn't help but think to himself:
What incredible magical talent! It's a blessing that he's joined the guild. I'm certain Fairy Tail's future will be even brighter with him here.
Noah remained completely absorbed in his cultivation, losing all sense of time, until Makarov finally called him back to reality. Only then did Noah realize that the sun was high it was already noon, and time for lunch.
After a short rest and meal, Noah began his first Light Magic lesson with Makarov.
Thanks to the morning's training, Noah now had magic power he could control. Makarov started with the most basic Light Magic spell.
Noah concentrated, tried it once, and success. Light flared at his command. His learning speed made Makarov visibly pleased, but the guild master quickly added a reminder:
"Learning quickly is a fine thing, but don't let that make you complacent. Whether it's magic power, your physical body, your knowledge of magic, or your mastery of techniques, everything requires constant practice and refinement. Only with a solid foundation can you achieve the things you truly wish to do."
"I understand, Grandpa. I'll train hard!" Noah replied with determination.
From then until evening, Noah continued to learn under Makarov's guidance.
After dinner, he studied reading and writing with Laxus, and when the lesson was over, he went straight to bed.
The days began to fall into a steady rhythm: training his body and magic in the mornings, learning Light Magic in the afternoons, and studying literacy with Laxus in the evenings.
While Noah trained, Laxus also practiced nearby. The magic power radiating from him made Noah deeply aware of how extraordinary it was for someone so young to possess such strength.
But Noah also knew Laxus had suffered greatly because of it. When Laxus was younger, his magic power had been far too immense for his body to handle, often causing him intense pain. Only after receiving the Lightning Dragon Slayer Lacrima which strengthened his physique was he able to bear the enormous magic within him.
Another person in the original story had suffered from a similar condition Ultear. Both she and Laxus would go on to achieve feats that stunned the magical world.
One would reach, and even surpass, the level of an ordinary Ten Wizard Saint. The Ten Wizard Saints were the ten most powerful Mages chosen by the Magic Council from all across Ishgar. Each was far stronger than a typical Mage, and the most powerful four were known as the "Four Heavenly Kings of Ishgar."
The other, during the final battle against the dragons, would use every ounce of her strength to turn back the world's time by one minute, saving countless lives. She would survive, but at the cost of transforming into an old woman.
If one's strength was lacking, then reversing the world's time by even a single second let alone a whole minute would be enough to completely drain their life away. To accomplish such a feat and still survive required unimaginable talent and power.
It was easy to picture how extraordinary their potential had been, and how terrifyingly strong they became later. But Noah felt no envy or jealousy. He had discovered something remarkable about himself his own hidden advantage.
Perhaps it was due to the fact that he had physically crossed into this world, but the moment he began training his magic and studying spells, Noah realized that he was getting stronger all the time.
And it wasn't only the expected progress after practice he was growing stronger even without actively training.
On the very first day he learned magic, he noticed it during his lunch break. His total magic power was already slowly increasing. After sleeping through the night, he woke the next morning to find his magic reserves had expanded noticeably.
It wasn't just his magic power. His eyesight, hearing, touch, sense of smell every physical sense was sharpening. His reaction speed, thinking speed, and learning capacity were all climbing as well. In short, every single aspect of himself was improving automatically, with no weak points at all.
When Noah first noticed this phenomenon, he was unsettled. Years of reading conspiracy-driven novels had left their mark on his thinking stories where every gift from fate came with a hidden price attached in the shadows.
Was this strength something that would demand payment later? Was there a trap waiting for him in the future? The uncertainty gnawed at him for several days.
Eventually, though, Noah made up his mind.
The only way to face hidden schemes or traps was with the power to resist them. If he wasted time worrying, all he would do was slow his own growth and weaken himself before anything even happened.
And who was to say there really was a conspiracy? Maybe this was simply the result of some extraordinary stroke of fortune. Perhaps, during his journey through worlds, he had undergone some kind of baptism that had reshaped his talent from the ground up.
Noah decided to treat this automatic, unceasing growth as a gift a talent that was uniquely his. The thought alone made him smile.
After that, he threw himself wholeheartedly into learning and training.
In less than a week, he had mastered the continent's common script. He didn't understand why English also existed in this world, but the sight of it gave him flashbacks to the agony of taking the CET-4 and CET-6 exams back in his old life.
With literacy under his belt, Noah began spending his evenings in the Fairy Tail library, devouring book after book. His enhanced memory allowed him to recall every page perfectly.
He started with works on local geography, culture, and the behavior of magical beasts practical knowledge that would be invaluable on future missions, helping him avoid unnecessary trouble caused by ignorance.
As for his morning magic and physical training, the growing noise and disruption forced him to move his practice to the nearby forest.
His power was rising so quickly that he often lost control without realizing it. One misstep could leave a crater in the ground. Knocking over a door just by opening it, or shattering a cup while drinking water, became common occurrences.
Finally, Noah approached Makarov and asked for training tools that could suppress his magic power and physical strength, so he could refine his control without accidentally breaking everything he touched.
Until then, the household had been in chaos. Laxus, in particular, had been sent flying into the wall on several occasions when Noah's strength slipped.
Fortunately, Laxus had already been strengthened considerably by the Lightning Dragon Slayer Lacrima. Without that, he would have been paying frequent visits to Porlyusica for healing.
