Li Wei was a simple man with a not-so-simple problem — his laundry. Every weekend, he faced the same battle: the mysterious disappearance of socks. No matter how many he washed, pairs always went missing. His wife Mei often joked, "Maybe your socks run away because they can't stand your dad jokes."
One rainy Saturday morning, Li Wei was loading the washing machine when something strange happened. The machine began to glow with a soft blue light. Curious, he peeked inside and suddenly—whoosh!—he was sucked into the drum, tumbling through a swirling tunnel of colors and fabric.
When he finally landed, Li Wei found himself in a world unlike any he'd ever seen. Around him, socks floated in the air like clouds, chatting and gossiping in their own tiny voices. He looked down to see a pair of bright red socks staring back at him.
"Who are you?" one sock asked, raising its tiny toe.
Li Wei blinked, trying not to laugh. "I'm Li Wei. I… think I'm stuck in your laundry?"
Li Wei looked around at the colorful sock-world. Socks of every pattern and size floated around, some knitting themselves together, others arguing about which foot they belonged to.
"Welcome to Socktopia!" said a cheerful striped sock named Stripey, bouncing up to Li Wei. "We're the missing socks — the ones tired of being lost in the laundry. We formed our own kingdom!"
Li Wei scratched his head. "So, you guys escaped the washing machine?"
"Escaped? We were trapped! But now we're free!" Stripey grinned. "And we need your help."
"Help? With what?" Li Wei asked cautiously.
"Our kingdom's under threat! The evil Dryer Dragon is coming to scorch our cotton fields!" Stripey explained dramatically.
Just then, a booming roar echoed. A gigantic, furry beast with glowing red eyes and steam rising from its nostrils appeared — the Dryer Dragon!
Li Wei gulped. "Uh… maybe I should call Mei."
He pulled out his phone and tried dialing, but there was no signal in Socktopia.

Back Home — Mei and Kids
Mei was folding clothes when the phone suddenly buzzed with a weird fuzzy sound. Xiaoyu and Jin gathered around.
"Mom, is Dad calling?" Xiaoyu asked.
Mei frowned, "It's not normal. Let me check."
Suddenly, the phone screen flickered, and Li Wei's voice crackled through, "Mei! I'm stuck inside the laundry machine — send help!"
Xiaoyu giggled, "Dad's always finding trouble."
Jin laughed, "Tell him to use the sock rocket!"
Mei rolled her eyes, "Sock rocket? What nonsense are you kids talking about?"

Back in Socktopia
Stripey handed Li Wei a tiny pair of knitted boots. "If you can defeat the Dryer Dragon, you'll save us all."
Li Wei looked at the boots and then at the looming dragon. "I'm just a dad with bad dance moves and worse cooking skills, but… okay. For the socks."
He tried to come up with a plan.
"Wait!" Stripey interrupted. "The dryer door! It opens only once every cycle. We can trap the dragon inside if you can get it there."
Li Wei nodded, trying to imagine a dragon stuck inside a dryer. "Like a giant, hot laundry basket?"
Li Wei took a deep breath and marched toward the roaring Dryer Dragon, clutching the tiny knitted boots tightly. The dragon snarled, smoke puffing from its nostrils, ready to roast everything in Socktopia.
"Alright, big guy," Li Wei said, trying to sound brave. "How about a little laundry day challenge?"
The dragon paused, blinking in confusion.
Li Wei dashed toward the dryer door — a giant, round portal glowing with heat. The dragon gave chase, roaring as Li Wei dodged and weaved through floating socks.
With a last burst of speed, Li Wei yanked the dryer door open just as the dragon lunged. The beast tumbled inside with a surprised yelp. Li Wei slammed the door shut and pressed the big start button.
The dryer hummed loudly. The dragon let out a dramatic roar that turned into a ticklish giggle as the spinning motion jostled it about.
Inside, the dragon's scales began to soften and fluff up — soon turning into a harmless, oversized fluffy sock monster.
Socktopia erupted in cheers.
Stripey bounced up, "You did it, Li Wei! You saved the kingdom and turned the Dryer Dragon into a sock-friendly buddy."
Li Wei grinned, exhausted but proud. "Maybe laundry day isn't so bad after all."

Back Home
Suddenly, Li Wei found himself back in the laundry room, landing in a pile of warm clothes. His phone buzzed — Mei's voice came through laughing.
"So… did you conquer the laundry monster, hero?" she teased.
Xiaoyu giggled, "Dad, don't lose your socks again, okay?"
Jin added, "And bring home the dryer dragon next time!"
Li Wei smiled and held up his thermos. "Only if it's full of tea."
Mei shook her head, smiling. "You're the only dad who can turn laundry day into an epic adventure."

And from that day on, every sock found its pair, and Li Wei never looked at laundry the same way again.
