Chapter 92 - Chapter 92: The Fall of the Chitauri Fleet

"Rot away, you worthless trash!" Bismarck's cold voice rang out.

In an instant, a gray poisonous mist of decay erupted and swallowed the entire space gate.

On Earth, people had been able to see the starry sky beyond the portal. But now, everything was blocked by the thick, gray fog. Nothing could be seen anymore.

"It looks like Sister Bismarck is about to go all out. We're in for a good show!"

"Should we go and help?"

"With that black magic cloak, Sister Bismarck has already stepped into demi-god level. Every movement of hers carries the power to destroy worlds. What need is there for us to interfere against a mere interstellar fleet?"

"Letting her act is already like using a sledgehammer to kill a chicken. Just sit back and enjoy the show!"

"By the way, Nymph, can you switch the global broadcast to show the outer space battlefield?" Yorktown asked.

"Of course, that's easy!" Nymph smiled and nodded, then switched the feed.

Viewers had been watching the battle between the Holy Light Order and the Chitauri army on Earth. Suddenly, the screen shifted to outer space, and everyone's faces showed curiosity.

"Where is this?"

"Is this the other side of the space gate? Amazing, is this what real outer space looks like?"

"My God, that massive warship the size of an island, is that our enemy?"

"Too terrifying. There are so many of them, like swarms of locusts. How can we ever win against that?"

"Wait, that holy white pillar of light, what is that?"

"It's a woman, a human woman!"

"She's floating in space? Is she really the protector of Earth?"

"Unbelievable. Is she only a follower of the Lord of Life?"

"If even the followers are like gods, how powerful must the Lord of Life be?"

"Is she really planning to fight the entire fleet alone? Impossible!"

As they watched the broadcast, everyone was stunned. Slowly, deep in their hearts, faith in the Lord of Life began to grow.

Bismarck, standing tall in the void of space, had no idea what was happening on Earth. She gazed calmly at the Chitauri rushing toward her like a swarm of insects.

Though their commander sensed a faint danger, he still sneered. After all, he commanded an entire fleet. A single woman shaped like a human? He didn't take her seriously at all.

He ordered his soldiers to continue the charge and to kill the woman if they had the chance.

But the moment his warriors touched the gray mist, they withered before his eyes. Their bodies shriveled into husks, then crumbled into cosmic dust.

Not only the soldiers, but even their warships and aircraft decayed as soon as the poison touched them. Wherever the mist spread, all things withered, all things turned to dust.

"This... this can't be possible!"

"Fire the interstellar missiles! Destroy her!"

The order was given, and from hundreds of Chitauri warships, countless missiles capable of erasing cities roared toward Bismarck.

If they had landed on Earth, all life would have been annihilated.

But Bismarck only sneered. The gray poison mist surged forward, swallowing every missile in an instant. The warheads decayed, then vanished into nothing.

The Chitauri inside the mothership fell silent. Not a sound, not even a breath, broke the oppressive air.

"Our missiles... useless? Against one woman?"

"This is impossible!"

"What kind of monster is she?"

"That damn Loki never said Earth had such a being!"

"Commander, what do we do?"

The commander's face was filled with disbelief. Still, as a leader, he quickly recovered and barked, "Use the pulse ion cannons! Blast her to pieces!"

Blue beams of destructive energy shot across space. In all their conquests, these cannons had slaughtered countless foes. This time, they were sure victory was theirs again.

But then the woman simply raised her hand. A wave of dark power twisted space itself, and every cannon blast turned back. The Chitauri stared in horror as their own beams curved around and slammed into their ships.

Explosions lit up the void like fireworks. In the end, only the main mothership and four escorts remained. The rest of the fleet was annihilated.

"Commander, our fleet is finished!"

"That woman, she's flying toward us!"

"Fire the star-killer cannon! Activate the energy barrier! Retreat!"

The commander's legs trembled with fear. But before he could react, the woman drifted straight through their energy shield and into their ship as if nothing were there.

Weapons were useless, soldiers collapsed to their knees under her pressure. She walked calmly toward the commander, glancing around the ship.

"This warship will make a fine offering to my master," she said softly. "He will like it."

The Chitauri commander's face went pale. "Master? Who are you people?"

"You dared invade my master's domain without even knowing who we are. You truly deserve death," Bismarck replied coldly.

The gray mist coiled around him like a dragon. His body began to dry up, his arm shriveling before breaking off into dust.

He screamed and begged for his life. "Don't kill me! I surrender, I'll give you everything I have! Spare me!"

Bismarck only laughed. "Everything here already belongs to me."

She tightened the mist, watching him suffer. In despair, he tried to threaten her. "If you kill me, the one I serve will tear you apart! He'll drag you into the deepest hell!"

Bismarck chuckled. "You mean Thanos?"

The commander froze.

"You really thought my master doesn't know what you've done on other worlds? He simply chose to ignore you. But you dared extend your hand here. That was your mistake. And since you mentioned hell, let me tell you. The Lord I serve rules even that dimension. The one destined for eternal torment isn't me, it's you."

The mist tightened around his throat. His screams of agony filled the warship, then all went silent. Every living Chitauri was dead.

Bismarck stood before the vast window, gazing at the endless stars. "What a beautiful universe. Someday I'll bring my sisters to see it. But for now, it's time to claim the Space Stone."

With a flash, she vanished, along with the intact warships.

On Earth, the Chitauri troops collapsed lifelessly as their mothership lost power.

"Did we... win?" Captain America asked, panting heavily.

"What did those women do?" Barton muttered.

"They destroyed the alien fleet," Natasha replied.

"Destroyed them all? Impossible. Did they use nukes?"

"You'll see for yourself in the broadcast replay," Natasha said.

"Broadcast? What do you mean?"

"Didn't you notice the giant screen? They were streaming everything live."

"What?! Then we're all famous now?" Thor boomed as he landed.

"Not you," Tony smirked. "They kept cutting away from your face. Dream over, Asgardian."

"Tch, at least I'm not as ugly as Hulk. He doesn't even wear clothes—"

Before Thor could finish, Hulk punched him flying.

"..." Thor groaned from the ground.

The heroes finally relaxed. If the battle had dragged on longer, they didn't know how much more they could have endured.

All of them silently thought the same thing.

They owed their victory to her.
