Chapter 23 - Ch 23: Loot

Some villagers finally spoke their minds: "That's right, they deserve it! Why should his son be a Ninja!"

"Yes, kick them out!"

"Yes, kick them out!"

The client also shouted proudly: "See, wasn't it correct for me to find Konoha's Ninja? All these Ninja who oppressed us are dead."

"Yes, Konoha's Ninja are amazing!"

"In the future, we will still find Konoha's Ninja!"

Sarutobi Muraki's grim expression finally softened a little.

Sarutobi Muraki said to them: "There are many dangerous items in the Ninja's base that we need to inspect."

As soon as the villagers heard this, they immediately shook their heads and said: "We are happy you helped us, but we also paid you. We only need you to kill them for us. As for their things, they were plundered from our Village, they are our Village's property, how can we let you take them?"

Sarutobi Muraki said with a dark face: "That place is very dangerous, you are not Ninja, your lives will be in danger."

"Oh, then you don't need to worry about it." The Village Head smiled and told them to rest, then he led a group of people to the Ninja's base to look for valuable items.

While resting, Yamamoto Kawa saw many villagers outside monitoring them, and he shouted angrily: "Teacher, they are going too far!"

Sarutobi Muraki sneered: "Watch me."

He used the Clone Technique to leave a clone here, and he secretly slipped out.

Soon, Yuhi heard a series of explosions, and then, a large group of villagers, smiling apologetically, invited the few of them out.

Yuhi looked at the bloodstains on the scene, then at the villagers' embarrassed and continuously apologetic expressions, and she covered her mouth, almost laughing out loud.

"They deserve it! Who gave you the courage to snatch things from Ninja? Or is it because the place you live is too remote? If it were places where big battles frequently occur, would you see them dare?"

After Sarutobi Muraki led the three through several traps, he told everyone to use Shadow Clone to search for loot, because using Shadow Clone is not only safe, but also won't hide anything when it finally disappears.

"Shadow Clone Technique!" Yuhi's clone began to search the rooms.

Yuhi opened the room door and looked at the scrolls inside. She smiled in satisfaction: "Found it."

Yuhi picked up a scroll, wrapped it with Divine Ink Chakra, and immediately read all the contents within.

"Oh, quite a few good things."

"Ninjutsu I've never seen before, they still have some family fortune, huh."

"Hmm?" Yuhi saw some picture books.

"Oh, methods for using weapons, and compatible Chakra usage techniques. Not bad, useful. And there are quite a few weapons, even oddly shaped ones. I'll jot them down and research them later."

"Sigh, rogue Ninja are rogue Ninja, pitifully poor. There isn't much loot left. I wonder how the others are doing."

"Huh, what's this?" Yuhi picked up the last few books and found they were just novels about various Ninjutsu introductions.

While using Divine Ink to read this scroll, Yuhi suddenly froze.

"Hmm?" Yuhi suddenly smiled.

She held one of the scrolls, then caressed the scroll, and finally slowly opened it.

Yuhi's hand caressed the paper of the scroll, and when the scroll rolled to the middle, Yuhi's finger also stopped.

Yuhi's snow-white finger lightly swiped, and the paper was damaged, but the back was not cut through.

Because there was a thin layer of paper in the middle of the paper.

Yuhi pulled it out, then looked at the paper, and she said with a smile: "Ah, thankfully Divine Ink's ability sensed it, otherwise I would have missed it. It seems there are other hidden layers."

Divine Ink Chakra formed a Sealing Technique barrier on the ground along Yuhi's feet, then she threw both the scroll and the paper into it.

After sealing it, Yuhi changed its color, then carried these scrolls and left the place.

Sarutobi Muraki seemed to have found clues related to Orochimaru, and he was gravely preparing to send a message to Konoha.

Yamamoto Kawa and Akido Jiro looked at the scrolls Yuhi was carrying, their eyes lit up, then they looked at Sarutobi Muraki.

Sarutobi Muraki looked through the scrolls once, confirmed there were no problems, and then said with a smile: "Ah, these are our spoils of war, you can look at them, but remember to return them to me, I still have to hand them over to the Village."

"Yay!" The three clapped their hands, then immediately picked up the scrolls and started reading them.

Yuhi pretended to look at them, but the other two were very focused, especially Yamamoto Kawa. This was a very rare opportunity for him, as he rarely got opportunities to obtain Ninjutsu, so he was particularly focused now.

Sarutobi Muraki looked through all the rooms they had visited, confirmed nothing was missed, and then he also picked up a Ninjutsu scroll and started reading it.

After looking at a few Ninjutsu, he distributed the extra Ninja tools to the others. Yamamoto Kawa happily accepted the Ninja tools. One must know that Ninja tools are very expensive, and repairing and maintaining them even more so. As a commoner, he was usually very strapped for cash, and his Kunai had been repaired many times and he was reluctant to replace them. Now he could finally be extravagant for once.

Sarutobi Muraki said to Yuhi: "Yuhi, your contribution is great, you choose first."

"Eh? Really?" Yuhi asked, feigning surprise.

"Yes, that's right." Sarutobi Muraki nodded, and Akido Jiro and Yamamoto Kawa also nodded. However, Yamamoto Kawa was clearly very reluctant, but still nodded in agreement.

Yuhi picked a few swords and strange weapons and took no other items. The others then divided the Ninja tools.

As for some medical supplies, herbs, and treasures, Sarutobi Muraki left some for the villagers, and took all the other precious items, and also left several scrolls and food in the basement.

The group left the place with a full harvest.

At night, a small snake appeared in this room. It sniffed out the location of Yuhi's seal, unsealed it, and swallowed the scroll and paper. Then it disappeared from here.

At night, Yuhi confirmed no one was watching her, so she used the Summoning Technique to summon the small snake.

After the small snake spat out the scroll, Yuhi waved her hand and said: "Thanks, goodbye."

The small snake instantly disappeared from its spot.

Yuhi opened the scroll and took out the other papers.

There were four papers in total, with Sealing Technique carved on them, sealing something unknown inside.

To be safe, and to prevent any dangerous items inside, Yuhi used Divine Ink Chakra to probe into them, to see what was truly inside.

After sensing the items inside the sealing talismans.

"Hmm? Scrolls sealed inside the sealing talismans? And inside the scrolls is...?"

"Hmm--" Yuhi gasped, almost falling to the floor.

"Money, so much money!" Yuhi said incoherently: "Oh my, this is the first time in my life I've seen so much money. How much? Hundreds of millions! Or more?"

Yuhi's hands trembled as she sensed another paper, and like before, it also contained a scroll inside.

"Hiss-- So many weapons and precious items."

Yuhi sensed a large number of weapons, and her face turned red with excitement.

Another one, as expected, also had a scroll inside, and it contained,

"Herbs and what else? Alcohol?"

The last one.

"Yay! Ninjutsu scrolls! This is great!" Yuhi jumped up excitedly.

She immediately put these away, then calmed herself down and lay on the bed.

But she couldn't fall asleep no matter what.
