Chapter 119 — The Weight of Awakening
Kakashi lay utterly motionless and pale, trapped in a deep coma. The unconsciousness had only lasted a few hours, but to those waiting, the quiet stillness felt like an eternity.
Akira stood beside him, quiet and unreadable.
"Uncle Sakumo," Akira said softly, turning to face the Sakumo. "I'll take Kakashi outside and send him to the Konoha Hospital." He murmured the true thought under his breath, though his expression remained neutral. I think it'll take a long time for him to wake up. And even if he does, I'm not sure he'll be himself anymore.
Sakumo's brows furrowed instantly with deep parental concern. "Akira… what's happening to him?"
Akira hesitated, his gaze drifting back to his still Kakashi. His voice was low and cautious.
"I'm not completely sure. But… I think it's his memories from a past life resurfacing. It started right after he saw those earrings. There's energy flowing from them—directly into him." Akira paused, his lips barely moving as he whispered the impossible implication. I think… it might be him.
He didn't say the name aloud—His Highness—but Sakumo, recognizing the gravity in Akira's eyes, caught the unspoken meaning.
Sakumo's expression tightened with shock. "Wait… you're saying Kakashi has a past life?"
Akira exhaled quietly, his gaze focused on the faint, glowing symbols still pulsing beneath Kakashi's pale skin.
"I don't know for certain. But… when I found the eggs and the earrings, and when I touched them, I remembered something too—something from my own past. I can't recall everything clearly, but… there's truth buried in it."
Sakumo looked at him for a long, heavy moment before speaking gently, recognizing the emotional strain on the younger Uchiha.
"If you're not comfortable sharing what you learned, you don't have to force yourself, Akira."
Akira shook his head. "It's not that, Uncle. You'll understand… once Kakashi regains consciousness." He glanced once more at Kakashi's still form, his voice barely above a whisper. "I just hope it's soon."
With that, Akira hold Kakashi shoulder and used his Byakugan and teleported outside the dimension , they were back—inside the quiet, familiar house of Kakashi
Sakumo remained behind for a moment, his heart heavy with dread and confusion. Even though Akira had assured him that Kakashi's life wasn't in danger, the unknown was a torment. My son… what's happening to you?
In the quiet of Kakashi's home, Akira gently laid his Kakashi on the bed. The cool moonlight from the window touched Kakashi's face, leaving it calm yet unnaturally still.
Akira did not take him to Konoha Hospital.
That had only been an excuse—a necessary reason to get them out of the dimension . before the others could realize the full extent of the temporal breach.
Akira could feel it: something profound had shifted inside Kakashi, something irreversible and elemental.
If his fear was right… if Kakashi woke up changed—no longer the same carefree person, no longer purely Sakumo's son—what would Akira do? How could he tell the legendary White Fang of Konoha that the person he knew might be gone?
Akira sat beside the bed, his hand hovering over Kakashi's unmoving body.
"I hope I'm wrong," he whispered into the stillness. "For your father's sake… and for me."
The room fell silent once more—only the faint, residual hum of otherworldly energy pulsing beneath Kakashi's skin broke the stillness, like a distant heartbeat echoing between two forgotten worlds.
