As soon as the school bell rang for it's dismissal,I rushed towards the car park hoping to get away from the school bullies and meet up with time for my part-time job. I was horrified to see my bicycle tires flat . "OH God why me this universe really hates me", I thought to myself as I stood in horror wondering how to cover a 100meter within 10 minutes to the restaurant . Then I saw a cab who had been apparently waiting for someone for the past one hour. I thought "Whose billionaire heir would take a cab instead of taking their sports car or even a limo ". Curious I decided to go and inquire.
On my way the three school bullies in their flashy sportcar drove past a puddle , splashing mud all over me. I was furious as Gomez turned back saying "Now you look like a real sewer rat. Ha Ha" before their before their gang speed off. I had already forgotten about the waiting cab before the driver yelled,"Hey sewer rat, please get out of the way so Leon can hop in". I was taking back when he said my name. Turning to him, I replied "I'm Leon". The driver scanned me up and down with clear disdain before sighing and said "Okay then hop in". I was surprised by his request and tried declining it saying,"I really don't have money to get in". The driver looked at my flat bicycle tire before saying "I think you don't have a choice. Do you prefer taking your flat bicycle to entering this already paid cab?". His question made me reconsider his request . By considering he request and what I had at hand, I realized if I was going to go to the restaurant in less than five minutes I have to take the only mobile option which was the cab so I hopped in and immediately he zoomed off without asking for my location . I was startled at this event axing him to wind down the window for security purpose .He didn't listen until he stopped in front of my part-time job. I was astoned that he figured out my exact location getting there with an extra 2 minutes to spare.
As alighted , he turned to me saying," Right you thought I was going to kidnap you, well a church rat won't try to kidnap a sewer rat. Please hurry up with your shift and come to the car park so I can take you to your next location .I felt embarrassed at his word as I left the scene for my shift. I still ruminated on the level of insult I had received from a taxi driver today.
An hour into my shift when I thought my day was finally looking up, the three bullies came into the restaurant. I was completely pale as those bullies stepped foot in the restaurant." Well this they couldn't get any worst "I thought to myself . I was so wrong as my boss commanded me to take the orders of the newly entered customers. I tried refusing it but he threatened with my job. I swallowed my pride as I went to their table to take their orders.
As I stood in front of their table James won't stop laughing at the heidious apron I wore, then Gomez said "Ha ha ,okay it's enough. Sewer rat get me a pizza,a hamburger, smoothie, hotdog, buns and probably everything on the menu". I tried remaining cool as I said " sir, I don't think that is possible. They are over a 100 dishes there please make a specific order". Before I knew it, I was slapped by Olivia before she said" Get everything sewer rat. We aren't as poor as you ". While waving her dad's black card she said"Do you know what this is? Well I am sure you haven't seen it talk less touching it. Well for your information it is an unlimited black card meaning I can withdraw any amount of money I wish. So stop nagging and triple the other now".As she said this I felt more humiliated than the past 16 years of my life I couldn't believe the person I had a tint of likeness for could be cruel. I endure her slap as I went to get their order.
While setting their order on the tray I realized they had left, for some reason I was relieved that they had, but upon seeing the mounting order they gave me, anger rushed through my veins.
As my shift was over I was shocked to still see the taxi driver ready to pick me up at 11:30 PM. While I was relieved to finally go home as I wasn't going my vulcanizing job today, I asked the driver why he was still waiting for me at this hour. His response left me dumbfounded as he said "It was booked for you a whole day ".This made me even more curious to know who it was.
As I stepped out of the taxi when I had reached home at around 11:45 PM the taxi driver called me back offering me a cheque of a hundred thousand dollars ($100,000). I was caught off guard at his request, as I haven't seen that amount of money in my life. I debated on declining it but remembering my situation I accepted it immediately. Before I went home the taxi driver yelled "Well use some of the money and get yourself a new set of clothes, you look like a real slower rat!". I just nodded ignoring his comments while looking at the cheque. At 12 midnight when I arrived home, knowing my parents would be fast asleep I immediately went to bed to prepare for the next day.
