Gauge falls momentarily and lands on the hard ground in nothing but seconds. He stands up tidies himself and clears his eyes to take a look at where the mist brought him. He looks up at the sky to observe not one but 4 suns one in each direction yet the sky was dark, the suns appeared as if they were a lantern lit in the distance, in a dark night.
Gauge was confused as he only expected a small portion of area enclosed inside the hemisphere, but this was a whole new world, as he was convincing himself to believe what he sees..he is suddenly pulled of the ground in a flash the place where he stood is now empty.
Gauge notices that a creature he had never seen before abducted him.the creature looks at gauge in his eyes and asks
"Who are you? How did you walk through such a powerfull gate without a single scratch? What do you s..."
Swoosshhh....head was clearly cut off,as they both fall off, the body of the creature drops dead but the head still alive responds,
"Hey!! I was talking that was rude"
Gauge confused as to why it wasn't dead,looks at it with curious eyes and asks the head
"What are you? Why aren't you dead"
The head was now frustrated for some random guy just cut off his head and started talking
"Those were my exact questions to you, but you were rude enough to cut off my head and now you demand answers?"
Gauge's expression turns from curious to somewhat a realising look,Gauge continues speaking,
"Yess and if you give me answers,atleast your head will live."
The head looks at the sky and sighs and its gaze returns back to gauge,
"I am a vampire of a higher order.i was banished from my planet and pushed into a powerful gate from my planet to the one we are standing."
Gauge is genuinely confused,he raises the vampire's head and continues asking
"A gate what is a gate? Like the one back in my palace ? Where is my palace does it still exist..."
"Woah woahhh kid" interrupts the vampire, as his neck starts regenerating his voice becomes clear
"Seems like you are new to gatewalking, if you let me heal for a while, I ll show you around this planet and while we are at it I will answer your questions and in return for sparing me I will tell you all I know about the gates."
The vampire proposed.Gauge heeds and gives the vampire some time to heal, as the vampire was fully healed,he gets up on his feet,
"I am var'zek from the Nytherra planet and I have been banished to this place because I performed an act my people deemed immoral."
Nytherra - a planet made of vampires and werewolves.It was constantly flooded with blood and was the furthest planet from the star of the Umbra system.Varzek was tired of the constant wars and bloodshed, he was a smart young vampire who aspired to study the cosmos. But the constant wars in their planet made the planet unsafe to even walk on let alone study the cosmos.
Everyone in Nytherra were forced to fight in the war and so was Var'zek.
The dracula king of the vampire kingdom orders
"Every living vampire would shed blood, anyone who wouldn't fight for the kingdom will be banished."
Var had no choice but to fight in the war. As evryone eagerly rushed along the flood of blood on the ground, Var was uninterested to even run. Once in a war he found an injured werewolf, but this was a female who came in search of her werewolf pup. She was caught in the crossfire of war.
"Please spare me I do not mean any harm."
Var approached the werewolf any way,here screaming intensity increased as he stepped towards her,"No,no!! Please I just want to find my pup, she has gone missing."
Var notices her leg was bleeding profoundly. So he tore a piece of his owner fabric and tied a torniquet around the werewolf lady's legs allowing her to escape.
This act of kindness was noticed by other vampires, disgusted they reported it to their king the dracula.in the court room of Nytherra var was held in shackles, The dracula furiously said
"Your hands drip with betrayal var and no shadow in the world would hide it"
As he snaps to call on his elite vampires and in a very cold tone he orders
"This one is to be banished from Nytherra, betrayal is the one thing we cannot accept"
Var begs the dracula, he falls on his knees crying for mercy,
"my lord the werewolf I saved was just a civilian lady searching for her pup, i did not save a werewolf of any rank....."
It changed nothing he was dragged along the palace floors and the grounds of the battle field and thrown into a gate similar to the one gauge walked through but significantly smaller.
Cut to the present where Var and gauge are walking through a bazaar of some kind,
"And that's how I ended up in Xenith a planet 4 systems I way from my own, and I had cosmic levels of luck because the gate I was thrown into leaded here to vel kartha the marketplace of Xenith,this place is waypoint to a lot of gatewalkers journeying accross planets and searching for resources"
Var explained, Var was much older than when he was thrown into the gate, he was a scholar of astrology thanks to Vel kartha's advanced civilisation.
"This planet had evrything I needed a sky, skilled tutors and everything. So I learned evrything I could about the gates"
Gauge was intrigued by this and asked var in an interested manner,
"Why gates?"
Var smiles like a teacher when a student asks doubt, somekind of potential bond appears between these two,
"Well that's the only thing you can learn about in vel kartha, you see, this place makes its living off the gates giving it the name 'city of gateways'. The trade currency here is gate energy, the energy surging inside a gate, you learn about gates, you research about gates evrything here is gates."
Gauge is more interested as he leans forward towards var listening to what he has to say,var notices this and adds more about gates,
"Gates are like portals between worlds, except it's not a natural phenomenon, Historically it was created when 2 celestial beings of equal powers fought distorting reality, this distortion connected wrong parts of the universe to each other. How far a gate sends you depends on how severe reality has been damaged, meaning the power of the gates is directly proportional to power of the beings who fought there.
For example the gate I was sent through was created when the dracula and Fenrisulvar, the king of werewolves clashed, they created a warp through 4 systems pretty impressive isn't it?"
As he looks at gauge zoned out, he asks
"Where are you from kid?"
Gauge was suddenly brought back to reality as he was imagining a fight between Dracula and Fenrisulvar and how it would have been, once he came to his senses he answered
"Oh me ? I am from earth"
Var was shocked to hear this,he shakes his head to clear any confusion and asks again,
"You're from Iyearth?(how books of vel kartha mentioned earth) "
Gauge unsure of why he asks again thought for a while and answers,
"Yes I am from Earth"
Var grabs gauge by his shoulder firmly and shouts
"Kid!!! Thats the solar system, THAT IS 43 SYSTEMS AWAY FROM HERE"
Two kings of a planet clashed to create a gate that broke through 4 systems?
so what could have happened to open gate through 43 systems?
