Chapter 6 - Part 6 of Dragon Knight

Chapter 1 – Attack on the Village

The evening was peaceful; kids were chasing fireflies near the well, while Strom sharpened his spear outside his small forge. Wraith sat on the porch, drinking tea and teasing him:

> Wraith: "You know, if you keep polishing that spear every night, one day it will be sharper than your brain."

Strom (grinning): "That's the plan."

Sam walked by, waving:

> Sam: "Love birds. You two should just admit it already."

Wraith & Strom (at the same time): "Shut up, Sam!"

Everyone laughed. It was one of those rare, perfect nights.

But peace, as always, is fragile.

A distant rumble echoed from the forest. The ground vibrated slightly, birds flew in panic, and then—

Crash!

A wall of ice burst from the treeline, freezing three houses instantly. The villagers screamed as a tall figure stepped out from the fog. His armor shimmered like frozen silver, his breath formed mist that instantly frosted the grass beneath his feet. He carried a double-sided battle axe, glowing with chilling blue runes.

> Sifen (calm but cold): "Where is she…? Where is Wraith?"

No one answered. Instead, a small girl, no older than six, ran in fear and tripped near a collapsing house. The roof gave way—

Whoosh!

Wraith blurred past Strom, grabbing the girl, rolling out just as the building crushed into frozen shards. She hugged the trembling child, whispering:

> Wraith: "It's okay. I got you."

Sifen's eyes narrowed.

> Sifen: "Pathetic… saving a human child? You shame your bloodline, Wraith."

Chains of ice shot out from his hands, wrapping around Wraith before she could react. She growled, her nails sparking with blue energy, but Sifen lifted her off the ground effortlessly.

> Wraith (angry): "Let me go, old man!"

Sifen (cold): "No. You are coming home."

Strom rushed forward, spear ready, but Sifen slammed his axe to the ground, creating a wall of jagged ice that split the entire path.

> Strom (shouting): "Let her go, you frozen freak!"

Sifen (turning slightly, voice chilling): "Try to stop me, dragon-blooded boy… and die."

Before Strom could attack, Sifen vanished with Wraith, leaving behind a trail of frost and silence.

The village fell quiet, except for the crying child in Strom's arms. He looked at Sam, his eyes blazing:

> Strom: "He's going to regret touching her."

---

Chapter 2 – The Frozen Throne

The land of Cryovale was merciless.

The further Strom traveled, the colder the wind became, biting through even thick fur cloaks. The air froze their breath mid-exhale, turning it into shimmering crystals that fell like fragile glass.

And at the heart of this icy wasteland stood the Frozen Throne — Sifen's kingdom.

The walls weren't stone but solid blocks of enchanted ice, towering high and carved with runes that glowed faint blue. An aura of cold so dense that even magic itself slowed down surrounded the castle.

---

Wraith's Capture

In the throne room, Wraith knelt on her knees, arms bound with glowing chains of frozen mana. Each link burned cold, sending waves of pain through her veins. Her blue skin trembled, not from the temperature but from anger.

Sifen — tall, muscular, clad in armor made of frost-coated steel, his double-sided battle axe resting on his shoulder — walked slowly around her, inspecting his own daughter like an enemy prisoner.

> Sifen: "You've grown stronger. But… weak. Soft. You save humans now?"

Wraith (gritting teeth): "Someone had to stop you from crushing that little girl."

Sifen (snapping his gaze): "A human girl. Do you realize what you've done? Our kind is above them."

Wraith: "No. You're above no one. You killed mom… and you killed my sister."

The room fell silent. The frost knights stiffened but dared not move.

Sifen's eyes glowed cold blue as he slammed his axe into the floor, cracking the enchanted ice beneath him.

> Sifen (icy tone): "Your sister was cursed. The prophets warned me she would destroy everything I built."

Wraith (screaming, eyes wet): "She was a newborn! You murdered her because of your obsession!"

Sifen (stepping close, towering over her): "I spared you, because I believed you could inherit my legacy. And this… is how you repay me?"

---

Offer of Power

Sifen extended one clawed hand toward her.

> Sifen: "Join me, Wraith. Rule beside me. Become the queen of this realm. No more weakness, no more chains of morality."

Wraith (spitting blood at his feet): "Your legacy is built on corpses. I want nothing to do with it."

Sifen's face shifted from cold detachment to pure rage.

With one wave of his axe, an ice cage erupted, locking Wraith inside. The chains tightened until she could barely move.

> Sifen (voice echoing): "Then rot here. Until the day you beg to kneel at my feet."

He turned his back and walked toward his throne, sitting down as frost spread across the floor. His kingdom, his rules, his cruelty.

---

Chapter 3 – Chains & Choices

The dungeon of the Frozen Spire was silent, the only sound being water drops echoing across frost-covered walls.

In its deepest cell, Wraith sat chained, her arms locked above her head, ankles bound to the icy floor. Her usual confidence was replaced by a rare quietness, her breath visible in the freezing air.

---

Sifen Arrives

A door creaked, and Sifen, taller than any knight, entered. His armor shimmered like ice itself, and his massive double-headed axe rested casually on his shoulder.

> Sifen:

"Still stubborn, I see. You choose humans over your own kind. That's why you're here, Wraith. Because you don't belong anywhere."

Wraith lifted her head, eyes blazing even in weakness.

> Wraith:

"I belong where people actually care about each other. You… you took that from me."

Sifen's tone hardened.

> Sifen:

"I did what I had to. Your sister's existence was a threat to everything we built. I spared you, because I believed you had potential. Yet here you are, saving humans."

Wraith's chains rattled as she stepped forward, voice trembling:

> Wraith:

"You didn't spare me… you broke me. While other kids laughed with their siblings, I was holding mine—"

her voice cracked

"—and you just walked away."

For a moment, even Sifen looked away, though his expression quickly returned to ice.

---

Strom Arrives

Suddenly, the dungeon door burst open. Strom, clad in his blue dragon-engraved armor and wielding his spear, stepped in.

> Guard:

"Who are you? This is restricted!"

Strom:

"Not your business."

The commander stepped up, sword drawn:

> Commander:

"Take them both down!"

Strom tilted his head slightly:

> Strom:

"Don't you dare touch my bitc#."

Wraith blinked.

> Wraith:

"Excuse me?!"

Before anyone could react, Strom dashed forward, spinning his spear in a controlled blur. In seconds, knights were on the floor, disarmed and groaning. Strom smashed the chains holding Wraith with one heavy strike.

> Strom:

"You good?"

---

The Kick

Wraith stood up, rubbed her wrists, then suddenly kicked Strom right on the balls.

> Wraith:

"Bitc#, huh?"

Strom collapsed, holding himself.

> Strom (weak voice):

"I… need to upgrade my armor…"

For a moment, despite everything, Wraith laughed, shaking her head.

---

The Father's Warning

Sifen's deep voice echoed again as he stepped from the shadows:

> Sifen:

"Enjoy your freedom, daughter. But remember this… I always finish what I start."

Wraith's smile faded. Strom forced himself upright, spear ready.

> Wraith (to Sifen):

"You think fear will work on me? You already lost the moment you touched my family."

Dragon Knight Arc V – Chapter 4: Frost and Rage

The icy throne room was silent when Strom stepped inside, spear in hand, steam escaping his breath. His new armor glowed faintly under the reflected blue light of countless frozen pillars. At the far end sat Sifen, his body draped in an icy cloak, hands gripping a massive double-sided battle axe carved from enchanted glacier crystal.

Sifen's eyes opened slowly, glowing like frozen stars.

Sifen: "So… you are the one who's been keeping her away from me."

Strom: "Her name is Wraith. And she doesn't need a monster like you for a father."

Sifen: chuckles "A monster? No. I am the savior of my people. My bloodline must remain pure… unbroken by weakness. That's why the second one had to—"

Strom slammed his spear on the frozen ground, interrupting him.

Strom: "Don't you dare finish that sentence."

Sifen: "Touchy… good. I like breaking warriors who carry anger in their chests. Let's see if your rage keeps you warm."

The Duel Begins

Sifen stood, towering even in his normal form. He swung the massive axe effortlessly, the air itself freezing from the swing's speed.

Strom charged first, spear spinning, aiming for the neck. Sparks flew as the spear shaft met the ice axe, vibrations ringing through the room. Strom twisted, flipping over Sifen's shoulder, and slammed the spear into his back—but an instant ice shield erupted, blocking the strike.

Sifen: "Quick… but too light."

Strom: "We'll see about that!"

The fight grew faster, the sound of steel echoing like war drums. Every time Strom thrust, Sifen's frozen spikes shot up from the floor, forcing Strom to backflip and dodge.

Strom's Counter

Strom spun his spear, activating the dragon aura crystal embedded in the blade. A pulse of blue energy vaporized several incoming ice shards.

Strom: "That all you got, frosty?"

Sifen: "You mock me in my own hall… brave, but foolish."

Sifen slammed his axe on the ground, causing a shockwave of ice to explode forward. Strom planted his spear and jumped, landing on the wall, kicking off, and delivering a sweeping strike to Sifen's helmet—cracking it slightly.

The Philosophy Clash

Sifen staggered but laughed.

Sifen: "Impressive… for a half-blood warrior who hides behind dragons."

Strom: "Better to be half than heartless. You killed your own family. Your wife… your child—"

Sifen: "Weakness. They were weakness. My second spawn was cursed, a seed of my death… I simply corrected fate."

Strom's eyes went wide with fury.

Strom: "Corrected fate? She was a baby!"

He lunged, striking with every ounce of strength, forcing Sifen on defense for the first time. Sparks rained as the spear clashed against the axe in a blur of motion.

Sifen's Rage & Transformation

Sifen roared, frost bursting from his armor, the room temperature plummeting. He swung his axe in a wide arc, shattering Strom's chestplate and sending him sliding back across the ice floor.

Sifen: "You think you can judge me? You are nothing! I am the bloodline!"

The ground shook as Sifen planted his axe, summoning massive ice crystals to impale everything in range. Strom barely dodged, his armor scraping, blood on his lip.

Strom (panting): "This guy… he's insane…"

Sifen slammed both fists to the floor, channeling his full aura. His body began to grow, bones cracking and armor reforming, transforming into a towering frost giant, his axe enlarging with him.

Strom: "Oh, come on…" (he stumbles back, spear at ready)

Strom (screaming): "Mom, this guy is crazy!"

Dravyss' Entrance

A flash of blue fire tore through the roof as Dravyss descended, wings unfurling, her massive shadow covering both warriors.

Dravyss: "Move aside, child. This one has sinned too deeply."

Sifen (laughing): "Another lizard thinking it can burn ice."

Dravyss' eyes narrowed, and her claws glowed molten.

Dravyss roared, her flames turning white-blue, melting Sifen's axe head instantly and burning deep into his frost armor. Sifen screamed, one hand seared completely.

Two Titans Collide

Sifen roared, frost exploding from his body as he grew in size, towering like a mountain of ice. His double-bladed axe radiated pure cold, freezing the ground wherever it touched.

Dravyss stepped forward, flames rippling across her scales like a living inferno.

> Sifen: "You think fire scares me, dragon? I am the king of endless winter!"

Dravyss: "You killed your own blood… locked away my daughter… you dare call yourself king? You are nothing but a coward hiding in frost."

Sifen swung his massive axe, releasing waves of ice spikes. Dravyss blocked with her wing, flames melting the ice instantly. The shockwave from their clash cracked the palace walls and made the ground tremble.

---

Wraith's Cry

Still near the throne, Wraith's eyes brimmed with tears. Memories flashed — her sick mother's weak hand holding hers, her tiny sister's still face, her father's cold stare when he walked away.

> Wraith (screaming): "This is for my mom… from my mom!"

Dravyss heard it. Her flames surged hotter, brighter, so intense that the ceiling above began to melt.

---

Dravyss' True Form

Dravyss began to grow, her body extending and wings spreading until she eclipsed Sifen entirely. Her tail smashed into the floor, creating a crater.

> Sifen (stepping back): "Impossible… this much heat… should not exist here!"

Dravyss: "I am not of this world, frostspawn. Your cold… is nothing to me."

With one swipe of her claws, she shattered Sifen's shoulder armor and slowed his ice regeneration. The temperature inside the palace flipped violently from freezing to sweltering.

---

The Final Strike

Sifen, now partly melted and desperate, raised his axe high.

> Sifen: "I should have ended you when I had the chance!"

Wraith (tears streaming): "Then why didn't you? Why ruin my life?! When others laughed with their siblings… I sat alone… holding my little sister who never even had a chance to live!"

Her scream echoed through the frozen palace. Dravyss unleashed her full wrath — her flames turned blue-white, a heat so intense it warped the air and shook the mountains outside.

Sifen staggered as his armor and ice defenses shattered.

> Dravyss: "This ends now."

With one devastating roar and stream of dragonfire, Dravyss overwhelmed Sifen completely, melting his frozen armor and slamming him into the palace floor. His power faltered, and he collapsed, unconscious and defeated.

---

Aftermath & Bond

Dravyss shrank back to her normal size and turned to Wraith. Strom stood there, holding Wraith's hand gently.

Wraith stepped up to Dravyss, placing her hand on the dragon's warm scales.

> Wraith: "Mom… forgive me for this…"

She turned and slapped Strom across the face so hard his helmet flew off and clattered to the ground.

> Wraith: "That's for calling me something you shouldn't have."

Strom (on the floor): "Okay… I deserved that one."

Dravyss chuckled warmly, a rare sound after such fury.

> Dravyss: "My daughter is safe… and that is all that matters."

The Quiet After the Storm

The palace that once rang with Sifen's icy authority now sat in silence, half-melted walls dripping water into steaming pools. Frost statues cracked under the heat that lingered from Dravyss' flames.

Wraith stood over where her father lay unconscious, frost armor shattered and weapon broken. For a moment, she just stared.

Her fists trembled.

Her breath was shaky.

Her eyes were red and wet.

Strom stepped closer, quietly:

> Strom: "You okay?"

Wraith: shaking her head "No one's okay after seeing their own father… like this. But I'm not crying for him… I'm crying for what he took from me."

She walked toward a small chamber at the back of the palace. Inside, preserved in enchanted ice, lay a small crystal coffin with a newborn's body. Her sister.

> Wraith (whispering): "Hey, little one… I know you're not here to listen but… I made him pay."

Her hand brushed the frozen surface gently, and tears fell silently onto the icy floor.

Dravyss lowered her head behind Wraith, her voice calm yet trembling with maternal warmth:

> Dravyss: "No child deserves to lose family like this. I could feel your pain… even when I wasn't here."

---

A Mother's Hug

Wraith turned suddenly and hugged Dravyss' snout tightly, her voice breaking:

> Wraith: "I never even saw my mom smile in her last days. I never saw my sister laugh. And every time I looked at my father, all I saw was… him walking away while we suffered."

Dravyss gently coiled her neck around Wraith, shielding her from the world for a moment.

> Dravyss: "Then listen, my daughter… you are not him. You are what your sister would have wanted — someone who saves, not destroys. Never forget that."

Even Strom stood quiet, scratching the back of his head awkwardly but with soft eyes.

---

The Road Back

Hours later, the trio finally walked out of Sifen's kingdom. Frost cracked under Strom's boots as he glanced at Wraith.

> Strom: "...For what it's worth, I'm proud of you. You stood up to him."

Wraith (sniffling, forcing a grin): "Yeah… thanks for not dying, idiot."

Strom: "I was close though… like really close."

Dravyss laughed, a deep sound that echoed down the frozen canyon:

> Dravyss: "If not for that scream calling me, you would have died. My son has a habit of fighting people way out of his league."

Wraith: "Yeah, and calling me names in the middle of it too."

Strom looked away, embarrassed:

> Strom: "...Are we ever letting that go?"

Wraith (smirking): "Nope."

---

The Peak Comedy Moment

They finally stepped out of the frozen territory into warmer lands, the ice storm fading behind them. Strom wiped sweat from his forehead:

> Strom: "Okay, next rule for life: we do not piss off anyone's father again."

Wraith (grinning): "Agreed."

Dravyss: "Especially if that father commands an entire frozen army."

Strom: "Yeah… good life lesson. Write that down."

The three of them shared a rare laugh together, a sound that felt almost like healing.

---

Ending Note

As they descended toward home, the setting sun painted the sky orange. Wraith looked back one last time at her father's fallen kingdom, whispering softly:

> Wraith: "Rest now, little sister… I'm finally free."

Dravyss spread her wings, Strom and Wraith climbed onto her back, and with one powerful flap, they soared homeward.

Epilogue – "The Return Home"

The cold wind of Sifen's shattered kingdom still clung to Strom's armor as he walked, Wraith dragging her tail behind, tired but smiling for the first time in days.

Sam stood at the village gate, arms crossed, face pale.

> Sam: "What… happened to you two?!"

Strom (sighing): "Long story short, don't piss off anyone's father."

Wraith (grinning, kicking Strom's leg): "Especially mine."

Strom (groaning): "You're never letting that go, are you?"

Sam: "Did you two… fight an army or something?!"

Wraith: "Nope, just one big problem."

Sam: "What problem?"

Strom and Wraith together: "Family issues."

They laughed for the first time since the chaos began, their bond stronger than ever.

Comedy Scene – "The Kick Revelation"

Later that night, while everyone sat around a small campfire…

Sam: "So… you two made it out alive, huh? What's your secret?"

Wraith (grinning mischievously): "Want to know? He called me his bitc# in front of a dozen knights."

Sam (choking on his drink): "Wait… WHAT?!"

Strom (covering his face): "It was heat of the moment, okay!"

Wraith (smirking): "And then… I kicked him. Hard."

Sam (laughing uncontrollably): "No way… that's legendary!"

Strom (lying on the ground, groaning): "I'm never living this down, am I?"

Wraith: "Nope."

Sam: "From now on, I'm calling you Sir Bitc# Knight."

Strom: "I need new friends…"
