Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 — Copying and Practice

During the long holiday period, Uchiha Izumi made a startling discovery: her Sharingan could copy other people's Ninjutsu.

What puzzled her was that her Sharingan was still only at the one-tomoe stage — far from the advanced versions that, in theory, should have the ability to replicate techniques. But somehow, she could still learn them. After a little thought, she decided the most likely cause was the mysterious power of the Divine Ink she possessed. That, she concluded, must be the key.

From then on, she began to take every opportunity to observe other ninjas' training. The idea of acquiring techniques without years of trial-and-error practice thrilled her.

Of course, she wasn't reckless. Izumi only dared to watch the training of lower-ranked or less dangerous ninjas. The stronger ones were far too risky — if she were caught spying on them, the consequences could be severe.

But Izumi was nothing if not resourceful. To solve this problem, she came up with a plan: send Shadow Clones disguised with Transformation Jutsu into different areas, each in the form of another person, to quietly watch the training sessions of more powerful ninjas. This way, even if they were discovered, her real body would remain safe.

Unfortunately, she learned there were limits. While she could pick up many general-purpose techniques, certain Bloodline Limit jutsu were off-limits to her. No matter how perfectly she imitated them, they simply would not work without the required genetics or special chakra nature.

Still, she had acquired a substantial collection of ordinary techniques by now. For the time being, she decided there was no need to keep pushing herself in this area unless she came across something truly unique. As her past life's memories had taught her, excessive greed often led to poor results — it was better to focus on perfecting the most important skills she already possessed.

Her new priority became clear: talismans.

---

Shifting Focus to Talismans

Izumi began dedicating more and more of her time to talisman practice, training daily without fail. Her father's old storage scrolls had provided a treasure trove of knowledge. Among them, she found one particular scroll detailing the most common talismans used throughout the ninja world.

When she first unrolled it, she felt her eyes widen.

Each formula was incredibly intricate — the flow of chakra needed to be precisely regulated during the drawing process, the pattern perfectly symmetrical, and the stroke order exact. A single slip would render the talisman useless. This kind of work required not only concentration but also a natural affinity for fine chakra control.

But Izumi was unfazed. She had a cheat, after all, and months of consistent practice had already sharpened her skills.

First Project — Space Scrolls

She decided to begin with one of the most common but troublesome tools: space storage scrolls. These could hold weapons, puppets, food supplies, dangerous items, or even certain prepared Ninjutsu. Every ninja used them, and their demand never ceased.

"Simple," she murmured with a confident smile.

On the table before her lay a large blank scroll, special ink, and a fine-tipped brush. She dipped the brush in ink and began to draw with meticulous care.

The two ends of the scroll were soon lined with complex runes. A perfect blank circle occupied the center, surrounded by layered patterns like a protective seal. Stroke by stroke, the formula took shape. Finally, with a delicate finishing mark, the storage scroll was complete.

Izumi studied her work. Even though she was already faster than the average craftsman, it had still taken her a while. She sighed, thinking it was too time-consuming. Then, a thought struck her.

"What if a Shadow Clone did it?"

The idea thrilled her — but before she even tried that, another experiment came to mind.

---

Experimenting with Spiritual Power

Pressing her fingers onto a blank section of scroll, Izumi focused on the mental image of a space talisman. Spiritual power surged through her body, and she began drawing directly with that energy instead of a brush.

To her delight, the process was faster and smoother than using chakra.

Then, she had an even wilder thought.

"What if I directly shape chakra into lines and copy the design without drawing? What if I merge Divine Ink chakra with spiritual power and just… print it?"

She immediately placed her palm flat on the scroll. Black lines began flowing out from her skin — long, snakelike trails that slithered across the paper, twisting into runes. The pattern formed by itself, guided by her mind, until it linked perfectly into a completed talisman.

Her eyes sparkled.

"It worked!" she cried, hopping up in excitement. "And it's so much faster! This is all money just waiting to be made!"

The thought of turning this into a business brought a mischievous grin to her face. "From now on, I won't have to worry about money at all. Hehe…"

Production Frenzy

Without hesitation, Izumi began working on other common talisman designs. She created explosive tags, barrier tags, detection tags — anything she could find in the scroll. The room soon filled with the crisp sound of her brush or the faint hum of chakra energy as she stamped designs directly from her palm.

Hours later, she collapsed onto the floor, drenched in sweat.

"Phew! So tired…" she groaned. The combined use of chakra and spiritual power allowed for incredible speed, but it was exhausting over long stretches.

When she looked around the half-filled room, however, her fatigue melted away into satisfaction. Dozens upon dozens of scrolls and talismans now filled the shelves.

She also noticed something interesting: talismans made with Divine Ink chakra were noticeably more effective than ordinary ones. Adding spiritual power on top of that made them even stronger — sturdier seals, faster activation, greater range.

She clenched her fist with determination.

"My cheat might not be the most overpowering in direct combat, but it gives me something far better: a way to create my own path."

---

A Business Proposal

The next day, Izumi presented her work to her mother, Uchiha Hazuki.

The older woman stared at the mountain of storage scrolls, explosive tags, and other talismans in astonishment. "Izumi… you made all of these yourself?"

"That's right," Izumi said, puffing out her chest proudly. "From now on, we can sell these and never have to worry about money again."

Hazuki's eyes softened. This could change everything — no more dangerous missions, no more exhausting odd jobs. If Izumi had real talent in this craft, she could make a comfortable living while staying safe in the village.

Within the week, Hazuki rented a small shop in the commercial district to sell their products.

An Unexpected Encounter

One afternoon, while Izumi was carrying a large bundle of scrolls down a busy Konoha street, she caught sight of a man walking ahead of her.

He was pale, with long, silky black hair and unsettling, snake-like golden eyes. His very presence made the crowd instinctively give him a wide berth.

Izumi's eyes widened in instant recognition.

Orochimaru.

In her past life, watching Naruto, she had once believed him to be the ultimate villain — cunning, ruthless, and terrifying. But as the series progressed and greater threats emerged, his role had shifted into something more ambiguous. Though his direct combat ability wasn't the highest, his mastery of forbidden techniques, his brilliant scientific mind, and his uncanny survivability made him one of the most fascinating figures. In the end, he even became an unlikely ally.

Now, seeing him in person sent a thrill down her spine.

Without thinking twice, she decided to follow him.

Following the Sannin

Izumi didn't bother trying too hard to hide her presence. Someone of Orochimaru's caliber would detect her no matter how perfectly she masked her chakra. Sure enough, after leading her deep into the forest, he suddenly stopped.

"Come out," he said, his hoarse voice carrying an unsettling weight.

Izumi stepped from behind a tree, rubbing the back of her head sheepishly. "Ahaha… it seems I still have a long way to go if Lord Orochimaru noticed me so easily."

He looked her up and down, a faint frown creasing his features. He had expected an ANBU operative or perhaps an ambitious chunin — not a child.

"Hm? Just a little brat. Who are you, and why are you following me?" he asked with a sneer.

Izumi bowed slightly. "Lord Orochimaru, my name is Uchiha Izumi, of the Uchiha Clan."

His golden eyes narrowed. "An Uchiha, hmm? For one so young, your skills are… adequate. But you make far too many mistakes in tracking — no real-world experience. Still, I suppose your potential is promising. What do you want?"

Her smile widened. "Hehehe… I simply wanted to meet the legendary Sannin in person. I wonder… could you teach me a few techniques?"

A shadow of amusement flickered across his face. "Girls rarely show interest in the kinds of techniques I know…"

Her eyes lit up immediately. "So you can teach me?"

He chuckled darkly. "Teaching you isn't impossible… but that depends on whether you have the ability to learn."

His voice dropped, and the temperature around them seemed to fall. Slowly, Orochimaru released a wave of killing intent, pressing down on Izumi like an invisible storm.
