Before i reincarnated i wasn't that old, i was around 13 before i died in an accident.
While i was walking back home from school i saw a man getting stabbed, i stood there looking at the dying person but i didn't feel anything.
Well, not nothing but i couldnt feel any compassion or pity for him just disgust, disgust that i would look like that aswell in a matter of a few minutes.
The person with a knife noticed me staring at the scene and simply watched me with a crazed smile.
I didn't even look at him and watched the dying man looking straight in my eyes seemingly pleading for me to escape.
The killer walked up to me and slowly put the sharp tip of the knife at my stomach and quickly stabbing me, i winced and looked down at my stomach that was bleeding severily and realized my situation.
My eyes widened and mouth opened but only blood came out from it and i fell down in pain, it was insuferable.
I almost passed out but i couldn't because i was already dead, my small body died in a span of a few dozen seconds from blood loss and darkness embraced me.
'Ah'
After what seemed like ages my eyes opened again but not in hospital or my room.
'Whats this'
- Look at them, they look so cute!
- Yes i see that.
Remembering what happened to me before i felt the same pain again and tried letting out a scream which sounded lime a babys cry.
- Waaah!
- Awh, shhh shh.
I cried and cried in this womans hands for hours before falling asleep and feeling the fatigue of my new body.
The toddler that was next to me is my twin brother Paul and he is an incredibly smart kid.
Well, im not so bad myself so that means were really are twins.
I learned about this world and saw many strange things like magic and weirdly strong people.
My new father was one of them having the farmers eye that let him grow better crops faster.
I learned that there is 11 types to get with regular being the one my mother has and having no powers or system.
The other thing i learned is that there exist monsters called observers, they are the ones who gave us these weird eyes and want to kill us for some reason.
My goal was to get stronger with my brother and kill all observers that might approach our village.
That's why i couldn't miss the oportunity to study the observers corpse, i needed to learn what i might fight in the future just like my father.
*Knock, Knock*
I knocked on the door to my brothers room and after a minute he opened the door and let me in.
Closing the door i looked at Paul and asked getting straight to the point.
- The sunset is going to be soon, are you ready?
He thought for a bit before furrowing his brows and asking.
- Yes, but what about our parents? Arent they going to get suspicious?
I rolled my eyes and retorted.
- Oh come on, do you know how many times they let us go outside even if it was night?
They will probably think of it as our usual thing.
- Hmm, i guess so.
He agreed with me and we both got up and ready to leave the house, we went out of the room and walked down stairs meeting our father eating his dinner with mother like always.
- Where are you two going?
He asked us but he looked like he was already used to it and did it out of worry and care.
- We are going to roam around a bit like usually.
Giving an answer i took Pauls hand and went for the door but my mothers voice stopped me.
- Just be carefull okay? Don't try to go look for that corpse or anything.
Paul gulped his saliva and stared at me waiting for my answer while i just stood still and nodded stifly.
- Alright.
She nodded in acknowledgment and let us be.
*Bam*
I stood outside with paul locking the door behind us and breathed a sigh of releaf.
- I guess we can finally go.
I muttered to Paul before going to the centre of village. He didn't say anything and follow me behind carefully not to look suspicious.
There wasn't much people around with it becoming dark and impossible to tend to fields without a light.
The sun was barely visible but thankfully both of us made it on time for the mans arrival.
We waited there for a couple of minutes in complete silence, it was dark but not to the point where we couldn't see anything and then we heard footsteps.
*Crunch*
It was a sound of leather boots walking on the rocky roads of the streets that was slowly coming to us and we noticed a small flame appear out of nowhere litting up the mans face.
- Well then.
He said without adding anything amd prompted us to follow him into dark.
We didn't say anything but the excitement was building up in us as we waited to see the observers corpse.
A dozen minutes passed and i noticed a lit up building not far away from us, it was most likely the inn that travelers used.
The stench coming from it was a mix of sweat, alcohol and something akin to blood but not exactly it.
The smell alone sent chills down my spine as i looked warily at the man that was leading us.
He noticed my gaze and sweetly smiled at me before giving an explanation.
- My party members are currently celebrating our victory right now, the observer we killed is of C+ rank which is way higher than ours but with the teamwork we pulled off we won against it and will get paid quite alot of money.
I kept nodding to everything he said not exactly paying attention to his words but still registering them.
As we walked up closer to the inn he turned to the side and started walking behind it.
- The spoils are usually kept away from prying eyes in the storage and will be monitored from time to time by us.
Seeing a door at the side of the building he knocked in a weird pattern before it suddenly made a clicking sound.
*Click*
It opened and the stench of blood flooded our nostrils.
My eyes widened as i looked at all the dead animals and precious items that were stored inside.
I didn't even pay attention to Paul anymore and entered inside without a second thought.
*Clang*
The door locked behind us and we stood there next to the man with the single little flame in his hands that was leading us deeper into the storage.
