Chapter 40: SEED – Ambushed
When Tolle Koenig and Kira Yamato arrived at the hangar, Mu La Flaga had already launched in the Moebius Zero.
The two quickly boarded their own mobile suits without wasting a second.
Kira Yamato, piloting the Strike Gundam, was the first to launch.
Sergeant Murdock came up beside the Blitz Ginn and said to Tolle Koenig,
"Kid, this unit hasn't gone through its final testing yet. If things go south, just ditch the modified Moebius booster pack—no big deal."
"It's fine, Sergeant Murdock. I believe in your skills—there won't be any problem."
"Alright, I'll leave it at that. Just be careful out there."
At that moment, Miriallia Haw's voice came over the Blitz Ginn's comms.
"Tolle, the ZAFT forces this time have one Laurasia-class battleship and three Gundams: Duel, Buster, and Blitz. Be careful!"
"Got it, Miriallia. Don't worry. Their numbers match ours one-to-one—nothing to worry about."
Miriallia Haw gazed at Tolle Koenig with tenderness in her eyes and said softly,
"Mm… Tolle, safety first. Good luck."
Meeting her affectionate gaze, Tolle felt a jolt in his heart, nodded, and replied,
"Tolle Koenig, Blitz Ginn—launching!"
Inwardly, though, he was thinking: Maybe I should just stick to one… yeah, one's enough.
Besides, Miriallia's really nice—miles better than someone like Flay Allster.
Too big a harem and you're just asking for trouble—could end up headed straight for the crematorium.

Suddenly, Nami's voice in Tolle's mind shifted to a cutesy loli tone.
"Master… don't you like me talking like this?"
Tolle let out a sigh.
"Alright, fine… actually, I kind of like it. Let's stick with that.
But when it comes to my personal privacy, try to look at as little as possible, alright?
Otherwise, I'll just wipe and format your storage."
Nami answered in a pitiful tone,
"Understood, Master. Even if I do see something, I'll never tell anyone. Please rest assured, Master."
Tolle shook his head helplessly.
"Alright, Nami, that's settled. Now make sure to back me up properly in battle—otherwise I might end up dead out there."
"Understood, Master. Nami loves you most! (⁄ ⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄ ⁄)"
Tolle couldn't help thinking that if this were a dating sim, he'd have a big Harem +1 sign floating over his head right now.
Piloting the Blitz Ginn, Tolle shot forward at full speed toward the ZAFT forces.
On the Archangel's bridge, Natarle Badgiruel issued her orders.
"Activate anti-air automatic CIWS. Prepare anti-beam chaff grenades. Load all stern-mounted large missiles."
Duel, Buster, and Blitz Gundams formed a back-to-back triangle formation, closing in fast.
They blocked the Archangel's radar targeting systems, concealing the firing vectors of the Laurasia-class battleship.
Suddenly, the three Gundams scattered. The ZAFT Laurasia-class ship opened fire first, unleashing a relentless barrage of high-energy beam cannons.
One shot grazed the Archangel's wing, shaking the ship violently.
On the bridge, Murrue Ramius spoke grimly,
"Looks like the ZAFT forces have cracked our evasive pattern."
Moebius Zero, having arrived first, engaged the Duel, Buster, and Blitz Gundams, attacking with linear guns and wired pods from long range.
Duel and Blitz quickly dodged Moebius Zero's attacks.
Only the Buster Gundam didn't budge—the linear gun rounds hitting its armor caused only slight tremors.
Buster returned fire with continuous beam rifle shots, forcing Mu La Flaga to keep weaving and rolling to evade.
From a distance, Tolle Koenig spotted Nicol Amalfi's Blitz Gundam—the right-arm Assault Shroud system still unrepaired.
It carried the same beam rifle and shield as the Duel Gundam, probably hastily patched up just to rejoin the chase.
Tolle mused whether he'd ever get his hands on the Gold Frame's custom arm in the future.
The Duel Gundam spotted the Blitz Ginn first and opened a wide-band channel.
"You—the pilot of that recon-type Ginn! You're the one who stole the weapons off Nicol's Blitz Gundam, aren't you?
You're dead! I'll take your life to avenge him—die!"
The Duel Gundam raised its beam rifle and fired repeatedly at the Blitz Ginn.
Tolle deployed the Blitz Ginn's beam shield on its mechanical arm—completely blocking the shots.
The Duel switched to grenade launcher fire.
Tolle retracted the beam shield and fired several beam rifle shots, but the grenades still came in—forcing him to prepare to dodge.
Just then, the Strike Gundam beside him fired a single beam rifle shot, detonating the grenade mid-air.
"Tolle, be careful. Don't get caught up in a duel."
"Ah, right—thanks, Kira." Tolle quickly pulled back to a safer distance.
The grenade's shockwave sent the nearby Duel Gundam flying before it regained balance.
The wide-band channel crackled with rage.
"You bastard! Damn you! Strike Gundam, I'll kill you!"
Duel immediately charged at Strike.
Tolle shook his head—Yzak Joule really was hot-tempered. Not the kind of guy he could deal with.
That left just the Blitz Gundam and the Blitz Ginn—two doomed fates facing off.
The Blitz Gundam closed in, beam saber raised to slash off the Ginn's right arm.
Tolle immediately activated Nami's assisted piloting system, dodging Nicol Amalfi's relentless saber strikes.
Seeing melee wasn't working, Nicol switched to his beam rifle.
Tolle seized the opening and fired the Blitz Ginn's beam rifle mounted on the shield arm, blasting the Blitz Gundam's beam rifle apart in one shot.
Nicol could only respond with his head-mounted CIWS, forcing Tolle to pull back slightly—before Nicol charged again with his beam saber.
