Chapter 3 - A turning point appears

In a dark quiet room, a figure sat in front of a table.

There were three items on the table. They were a jade pendant, a brocade bag, and a large seal.

Luo Changxi was very clear about their value and significance because they represented inheritance, resources, and territory.

The family had completely fallen on his shoulders, so much so that he was a little dazed, but…

The future of the Luo family had gradually taken shape in his mind.

First, he had to find a way to bring the inheritance in the ancestral jade pendant back to the family so that the clansmen could cultivate it and improve the family's foundation and combat strength.

Then, there were the resources in the Qiankun Bag. Other than the compensation from the Purple Cloud Sect, there was also a small portion of the savings of Luo Tingchuan over the years. Now, all of them were in his hands.

Luo Changxi planned to use a small portion of the resources first. Firstly, it would help her advance to the next level. Her family needed to regain the combat strength of the Foundation Building realm. Secondly, it would be used to nurture her clansmen in Cangnan County. After all, if her family wanted to start a rebellion in the future, they would need more people.

As for the rest of the resources, they saved them up. Although the sect went back on its word, the compensation was enough to support the family in the future. For example, they could use it to open up the wilderness and let the family truly occupy the Heng Yun Mountain.

But now, he could only speed up his breakthrough to the Foundation Establishment realm while waiting for the situation to change...

At the thought of this, Luo Changxi picked up the ancestral jade pendant again.

Even now, he was still a little surprised. What kind of shocking existence could record so many inheritances?

Could it be that the Luo Clan had a glorious history countless years ago?

However, these questions were meaningless to Luo Changxi as he could not delve deeper into them. Hence, Luo Changxi shook his head and decided to ignore them for the time being.

Rank 1 [Wood Element Cultivation Technique, Wakiliu Mantra]

Rank 1 [Wood Element Tactics, Willow Leaves in the Sky]

Tier 1 [Wood Element Tactics, Green Willow Air Armor]

Rank 1 [Wood Element Footwork, Willow Leaves Follow the Wind]

Rank 1 [Wood-type Escape Technique, Forest Patrol]

These were the main parts of the jade pendant that belonged to the wood element inheritance, and Luo Changxi was a cultivator with wood element spiritual roots.

In terms of cultivation techniques, the cultivation technique displayed by the jade pendant was exactly the same as the cultivation technique passed down by the family.

As for the supporting tactics, although the family lacked them, as a Golden Core sect disciple, he had long learned them in the sect.

Even though the inheritance on the jade pendant was even more extensive than the sect, the core was still the four major categories of killing, defense, footwork, and escape techniques. He had long cultivated these four categories to the point of being as pure as fire.

However, it was better than nothing. After adding a large number of small tactics, he would be more comprehensive.

However, what was even more worth looking forward to was the future when the jade pendant unlocked a higher level inheritance. At that time, his improvement was self-evident.

Cultivators of the five elements had their own characteristics. Metal element spiritual energy was sharp and good at killing, water element spiritual energy was good at delaying and controlling, fire element spiritual energy was vast and good at attacking, and earth element spiritual energy was tough and good at defense.

On the other hand, Luo Changxi's wood-elemental spiritual energy was beneficial to the growth and rejuvenation of the spirit root. It was a spiritual root that leaned towards support, which made many members of the Luo family feel sorry.

It wasn't that wood element spiritual roots weren't as good as other spiritual roots. It was just that wood element cultivators tended to support and help their companions become stronger.

However, in an environment like the Luo Clan, where itinerant cultivators lived, they lacked heritage and talents. It was not easy for them to produce a super genius. Of course, it was more suitable for the metal-element spirit root who was good at fighting alone and had the strongest killing power. Otherwise, it would not be long before the others in the clan could not catch up to him. They might not even be qualified to fight side by side, let alone let him assist them.

The moon was high in the sky. As they had to escort Luo Tingchuan's coffin back to their hometown in Cangnan County the next morning, Luo Changxi put the jade pendant and the seal into her Universe Bag and tied it around her waist. Just as she was about to sit cross-legged and cultivate, she heard hurried footsteps coming from outside the door.

"Who is it?"

Luo Changxi asked warily as someone knocked on the door.

"Big brother, it's me, Changzhen!"

The person outside the door replied.

Luo Changxi was surprised to hear that. She hurriedly opened the door." Second Brother, why are you here?"

He saw a travel-worn white-robed youth standing outside the door. From his refined temperament and solemn expression, it could be seen that this was another mature youth who did not match his age.

After all, the children of the poor had taken care of their families early.

As a family of itinerant cultivators, the Luo family could not afford to provide too many cultivators. Therefore, every generation only selected a dozen people with the most outstanding spiritual roots to nurture. Among the male cultivators of the long generation, Luo Changxi was the oldest, and Luo Changzhen was second.

"Big Brother, let's talk inside!"

Luo Changzhen seemed to be extremely vigilant in the Purple Cloud Sect.

"Come, quickly enter the house!"

Luo Changxi turned sideways to let him into the house.

The two of them sat down. Luo Changxi was still confused." Second Brother, the elders in the clan and I will be escorting the ancestor's coffin back to our hometown in Cangyang County tomorrow. Why did you rush here now?"

At this point, Luo Changxi could not help but feel sad.

"Big brother, I heard that the sect has changed the location of our family to Heng Yun Mountain?" Luo Changzhen's face was still serious.

"Yes."

"Is it the [Heng Yun Mountain] in the Wildlands?"

Luo Changzhen confirmed again.

The old land of Yu Ze had been in the hands of the big demons for hundreds of years. Not only were demon beasts rampant inside, but it was also filled with miasma. It was already deserted, and only a few independent cultivators were forced to go in to make a living. Therefore, it was called the Wild Land.

"Yes."

Luo Changzhen nodded and said word by word," I've already asked around when I came. There's some news in the Wilderness that the big demon might have fallen into a deep sleep."

"Hmm?"

Luo Changxi's eyes lit up instantly. However, he quickly restrained his expression and said," I'm just afraid that the beast will wake up soon."

The great demons in their twilight years would fall into a deep sleep from time to time, but the time scale of their sleep was extremely broad, ranging from months to years to decades.

"It is precisely because of this that we have a chance!"

Luo Changzhen pressed his hands on the table, his gaze extremely firm.

Luo Changxi fell silent. He understood what Luo Changzhen meant.

It was precisely because the time of the great demon's slumber was full of uncertainty that it gave the Luo family, a wandering cultivator family, an opportunity to take advantage of. Otherwise, when the sects and cultivation aristocratic families interfered, the family would have no chance to compete with them.

However, Luo Changxi did not agree immediately. Instead, he continued to question her." Even if the great demon is asleep, I'm afraid that with the current strength of the family, we won't be able to deal with the demonic beasts and itinerant cultivators in the Wilderness."

If he hadn't accidentally obtained a large amount of inheritance from the ancestral jade pendant, other than himself, the remaining members of the Luo family could only rely on the most basic control and spiritual force control methods to fight.

This kind of combat strength was completely insufficient to fight with the fiendish demon beasts and the freelance martial artists who licked blood from their blades.

"I've thought about this problem."

Luo Changzhen was not stumped by the question and replied without thinking,"

" We can find a few rogue cultivator forces to cooperate with. We can share the spirit vein with them in exchange for their help!"

"When the time comes, I'll go with them to the Wildlands. As long as Big Brother stays in the sect to cultivate and successfully advance to Foundation Establishment, we won't have to worry about the other party bullying us after the matter is done!"

He seemed to be full of confidence in Luo Changxi's advancement to the Foundation Establishment Realm.
