Chapter 74 - I Fought The Law

Jason walked away from the group after finishing up his conversation. He patted Hendrix on the back as he left. The boy nodded and smiled.

As Jason turned the corner, he pulled his clipboard out, "Alright. Time to record this."

The clipboard read:

Jason clicked his pen into his clipboard once he was done writing. He sighed, dragging his fingers through his short red hair.

The lobby was still lively, the rebels that had gone on the mission telling their stories to each other. Jason chuckled at the energy the group had after such a long day, "Wish I still had some energy." He muttered as he stretched his arms above his head.

"Alright, guys. I'm retiring for the night. We'll talk about everything tomorrow." Jason waved to the group, who let out a collective "Goodnight,"

The redhead dragged his tired feet up the stairs, making his way to his bedroom.

He flopped onto his bed, resting his clipboard next to his radio. Jason closed his eyes, ready for some rest.

Static blared from his radio.

"God dammit!" Jason sat up, turning to the radio. His hand reached for the "On/Off" dial.

"Officer, there's still dozens of citizens at the Shinjuku department. They keep screaming for answers about the boy swinging from the steel strings. Over" A voice came through the radio static. Jason's hand stopped. He stared at the device in shock.

"Wait, my signal catcher is working again?" Jason thought. It hadn't picked up a Correctional Forces message in months, not since Manny's last mission. He thought the Correctional Forces had updated their tech somehow, since the radio had just been going in and out of blaring white noise. But this… This was exciting.

"Just arrest them for heresy. I have more pressing issues to deal with in Osaka. I'll be back in approximately fourteen days. Sev is in charge in my absence. Over" A different voice answered the first.

"Is that… Officer 9274?!" Jason asked himself. The Officer's potential absence spawned an idea in the redhead's mind.

"Yes sir. Arresting approximately 32 citizens for heresy. I'll record it in the books later. Over." The voice finished as the radio's white noise stopped.

"That sounds… That sounds like a potential prison break to me. I'll ask the kids about it tomorrow." Jason laid back down on his mattress, his mind still boiling over the potential mission he had on his hands.
