Nolan had expected to find Collins waiting for him outside Miranda's hospital room. Had it been his own sister in Miranda's position, he'd be demanding answers from anyone connected to her. He drew in a deep breath, steeling himself for the conversation that was coming.
"What is it?" he asked calmly, maintaining his composure.
Collins's eyes narrowed slightly as she assessed him. "I need the absolute truth from you, Nolan. Is there any possibility—any at all—that Miranda is in danger because of your involvement in her life?"
His jaw clenched involuntarily. "No. At least... I can't be completely certain, but it wouldn't be related to my business dealings. Everything I do professionally is above board. My security team is investigating thoroughly, and I'm personally overseeing every lead. I give you my word, Collins."
