Miranda maintained her composure, refusing to be intimidated. "Rosalyn, you mean like you did when Nolan wasn't the wealthy man he is now? I should remind you that our relationship isn't any of your business."
"But it is," Rosalyn leaned forward, her voice laced with conviction. "Nolan and I share a history that runs deep. Our connection is complicated, something that doesn't vanish just because of divorce papers. We understand each other in ways you simply can't."
Miranda noticed the sideways glances from nearby diners. Rosalyn had calibrated her volume perfectly—loud enough to draw attention without appearing to create a scene.
