The representatives sent by the Star Luo and Heaven Soul teams to connect with the Shrek team were individuals of notably high status.
From the Star Luo team, it was Princess Xu Jiujiu, who had arrived in Mingdu as the team's official leader. The Heaven Soul team had sent someone of equivalent standing—a princess of the Heaven Soul Empire named Wei Na.
Xu Jiujiu was an old acquaintance of Zhu Ziyang, having only left Shrek Academy a year ago.
Wei Na, the Heaven Soul princess, was meeting Zhu Ziyang for the first time. As a royal, her beauty naturally rivaled that of Xu Jiujiu's. However, unlike Xu Jiujiu's graceful and open demeanor, Wei Na's temperament leaned toward the gentle and serene.
"Ziyang, long time no see!" Xu Jiujiu's eyes lit up with joy upon entering the room and seeing him.
"It has indeed been a while, Your Highness," Zhu Ziyang replied with a smile.
"So you're Zhu Ziyang? I've heard so much about you! Hello, I'm Wei Na," said the girl walking beside Xu Jiujiu, wearing a soft smile.
"The Pearl of the Heaven Soul Empire, Princess Wei Na—I've heard of you as well," Zhu Ziyang said warmly.
"Please, both princesses, have a seat," Ma Xiaotao gestured, politely inviting them to sit.
Xu Jiujiu and Wei Na each sat down on either side of Zhu Ziyang and Ma Xiaotao. A woman who had come with the princesses remained standing behind Wei Na, clearly a personal attendant.
"I wonder what instructions bring Your Highnesses here today?" Zhu Ziyang asked with a smiling face, though his tone was knowingly rhetorical.
Both princesses froze slightly at his words, but quickly regained composure—royalty was trained to handle such things with grace from a young age.
Wei Na glanced at Xu Jiujiu. Seeing that she wasn't going to speak, Wei Na furrowed her brow and said with a soft smile, "There's nothing major—just wanted to meet the famed genius ourselves. After all, we're all from the Heaven Soul Empire."
"Hahaha, well, I'm flattered then!" Zhu Ziyang chuckled.
"In that case, there's nothing more to say, right? Then please, all three of you, leave now—we'd like to rest," Ma Xiaotao said coldly, playing the bad cop. Her pretty face was dark as she directly issued the eviction order.
That left Xu Jiujiu and Wei Na stunned. They exchanged glances, seeing helplessness and frustration in each other's eyes. But neither dared to react—despite their royal status, they were here to ask for help. That meant they had to be humble.
"Ahaha, Senior Sister Xiaotao is as blunt as ever," Xu Jiujiu forced a smile. "Then we won't beat around the bush. Ziyang, pardon the intrusion, but we need to speak with the elders traveling with you. It's a matter of great importance."
Xu Jiujiu didn't know that Zhu Ziyang had already reached the rank of Titled Douluo and had taken over as the Tianyuan Pavilion Master. If she had, she wouldn't have said such a thing.
In truth, very few people on the continent knew. Xuanzi had only held the Pavilion Master role for three or four years, and no one expected him to step down so quickly—let alone hand the position to a young man not even twenty years old.
"No need. If there's something you want to discuss, speak to us directly. We can represent Shrek Academy in full," Ma Xiaotao said coldly, continuing her stern attitude.
"This…" Xu Jiujiu and Wei Na clearly didn't believe her, looking at Zhu Ziyang and Ma Xiaotao with doubt.
Though Zhu Ziyang was a prodigy, he was still young. They didn't believe he could make decisions. After all, they were just messengers—the true decision-makers were behind the scenes.
"Hmph!" Their doubtful looks annoyed Ma Xiaotao even more. She snorted and said, "Speak if you have something to say. If not—get lost!"
That was incredibly rude. Even Princess Wei Na, who had been told beforehand to remain patient, couldn't help the flush that spread across her cheeks. The woman behind her looked visibly agitated.
Suddenly, a cold laugh echoed through the room.
Zhu Ziyang's expression shifted, but he didn't move.
A woman in a crimson gown appeared in front of Xu Jiujiu. The temperature in the room immediately dropped as a terrifying pressure radiated from her.
Zhu Ziyang and Ma Xiaotao remained unmoved. However, Wei Na and her attendant shuddered slightly under the pressure. Wei Na instinctively sat up straighter—a clear sign of tension. Her attendant took a step back, both of their eyes filled with shock and vigilance.
The red-robed woman was obviously on Xu Jiujiu's side. Xu Jiujiu looked like she wanted to speak, but before she could, an even colder aura swept forth from behind Wei Na, causing the room's temperature to plummet further. A different type of pressure surged forth and clashed with the red-gowned woman's aura.
At that moment, a figure appeared beside Wei Na—a woman completely cloaked in a dark blue robe. Her face was hidden, but her figure revealed she was female.
Two Titled Douluos!
The red-clothed woman from the Star Luo Empire was an ordinary Titled Douluo, while the blue-cloaked woman from the Heaven Soul side exuded the presence of a Super Douluo!
Two Titled Douluos appeared at once, clearly trying to pressure Zhu Ziyang and Ma Xiaotao into revealing the elder they assumed was behind them.
But they had sorely miscalculated.
"Hmph!" Ma Xiaotao's face darkened further. Their show of force was nothing less than a provocation toward Shrek Academy. She had no reason to be polite.
With a cold snort, an aura far more terrifying than either the red or blue-cloaked woman's exploded through the room. A wave of searing heat instantly nullified the cold, returning the room to a normal temperature.
The two Titled Douluos were caught off guard. Ma Xiaotao's aura was on par with a Super Douluo. Both women were visibly shaken—shock on the red-robed one's face, and the blue-cloaked woman even revealed her face, filled with disbelief.
"Are you two trying to threaten us?" Ma Xiaotao's tone was icy. The blazing aura surrounding her made everyone uncomfortable—especially Xu Jiujiu and Wei Na. Even the two Titled Douluos looked pale.
But worse was still to come.
"Hmm? Speak!" Ma Xiaotao said with growing impatience. As her voice fell, six black and three red soul rings exploded into view—nine in total, casting a radiant yet terrifying light over the five imperial visitors, stunning them into silence.
The red-cloaked woman trembled before forcing out a bitter, "You… You're the newly ascended Fire God Douluo of Shrek Academy?"
The blue-cloaked woman's pupils shrank at the words. Clearly, she had heard rumors—but never imagined that Shrek's new Fire God Douluo was someone not even thirty years old!
How were they supposed to respond to this as veterans?
The room fell into an awkward silence. The five imperial guests were all uneasy. They obviously couldn't escalate this into a fight, but neither could they let it drag on like this.
"All right, Sister Xiaotao," Zhu Ziyang finally spoke. "I believe the two seniors didn't mean any harm. They're just anxious, right?"
His tone was soft and calm, yet it swept through the room like a spring breeze, instantly dispelling the tense atmosphere.
Ma Xiaotao withdrew her soul rings, and the expressions on the five guests visibly relaxed.
Now, they truly began to reevaluate Zhu Ziyang and Ma Xiaotao. These two really could represent Shrek Academy!
