Chapter 269 - Chapter 269: medical servitors

The Great Purge began.

The first to be purged were all members of the Blood Oath Society within the Rostov Sub-Sector.

Of course, Alex did not make a clean sweep; instead, he distinguished them into the Blood Sacrifice Faction and non-Blood Sacrifice Faction based on the information obtained.

The Inquisition's interrogation methods were efficient and cruel; Psyker mental probing, Adeptus Mechanicus data mining, and even the most primitive physical torture, all clearly categorized the Blood Oath Society members in the shortest possible time.

Since the Blood Sacrifice Faction was suspected of heresy, those definitively identified as part of the Blood Sacrifice Faction were purged immediately, and related personnel also underwent strict scrutiny by the Inquisition without delay.

Those not deeply implicated were converted into medical servitors; although they could not compare to living physicians in all aspects, it must be said that under the customized design of the Adeptus Mechanicus Sages, these medical servitors were still capable of effectively handling some non-serious injuries, which was a form of resource utilization to a certain extent and indeed alleviated the severe shortage of medical resources.

The remaining Blood Oath Society members, however, remained incarcerated; they would be dealt with after the Blood Sacrifice Faction members were completely purged.

To handle this matter and these personnel, the Black Templars were temporarily kept by Alex and not dispatched to the front lines for battle; they cooperated with Inquisitor Wien and other Inquisitors who arrived later as reinforcements to carry out the purge of the Blood Oath Society.

All Blood Oath Society altars and churches throughout the Rostov Sub-Sector were destroyed and confiscated, and in this process, more evidence of the Blood Oath Society's heretical activities was seized, implicating even more people.

Underground secret chambers were unearthed, hidden ritualistic items were exposed, and the forbidden texts secretly preserved by the Blood Sacrifice Faction were analyzed one by one by the Pursuit Ordo's Inquisitors, ultimately becoming irrefutable evidence against them.

This undoubtedly provided more raw materials for the modification of medical servitors; the Adeptus Mechanicus even iterated on the medical servitor modifications, introducing medical servitors with better performance and retaining more of their pre-conversion medical capabilities.

Alex even had a custom-made medical servitor, modified and equipped with a Cognitohazard Array, assigned to him for personal medical services.

Although it could not treat serious illnesses or handle complex problems, medical servitors could properly deal with routine mild to moderate injuries and common ailments.

If not for its somewhat unsettling appearance, it would be a very useful product.

This also gave Alex more inspiration; he disregarded his personal preferences and immediately sent an order to Kristen, requesting them to produce more medical servitors, even allowing them to establish a servitor factory on the Rostov II's orbital ring.

Of course, this time the raw materials were no longer natural humans but biochemical humans cultivated in artificial wombs.

The bodies of these biochemical humans grew in cultivation tanks; their genes were meticulously adjusted to ensure their bodies could withstand subsequent mechanical modifications.

They were custom-cultivated using a type of cloning technology and rapidly matured, during which memory infusion devices would inject a large amount of medical knowledge into their minds, and by the time they grew into qualified adults, they also acquired a complete knowledge system.

Some of this medical knowledge came from the processed Blood Oath Society members; after all, as a sect that had been rooted in the grassroots for hundreds of years and specialized in medical evangelism, their accumulation in this area was quite solid.

Their experiences were extracted, their techniques were replicated, and their memories were converted into data and input into the Cognitohazard Array of the new generation of Servitor.

Another part came from the summaries of the Astartes Chapter Apothecaries, who compiled a medical handbook based on the diverse and complex situations on the battlefield, detailing various common battlefield injury treatment methods.

And now, this knowledge was also implanted into the Servitor' core minds, allowing them to quickly assess injuries on the battlefield and adopt the most effective treatment methods.

After simplification, this content was printed into booklets and distributed to every grunt, ensuring they could learn how to provide first aid to comrades on the battlefield.

And this part of the knowledge infused into the Servitor undoubtedly enabled medical servitors to handle more and more complex situations.

Of course, custom versions would have more infused content, even specialized medical servitors tailored to individual health conditions, but such high-end goods were not something ordinary grunts could enjoy.

These knowledge-infused raw materials would be brought to the production line for modification, including prefrontal lobotomy, installation of various prosthetics and equipment, and most importantly, the Cognitohazard Array to retain basic thinking and judgment abilities, ultimately transforming them into a medical servitor.

Although the entire process results in a medical servitor coming off the production line that is quite valuable, especially custom-made types reaching a price that would make even a Planetary Governor wince, the emergence of these medical servitors immediately filled a severe gap in the Expeditionary Force's medical resources.

At least now, lightly wounded soldiers on the battlefield no longer have to worry about not receiving treatment, and seriously wounded soldiers no longer have to worry about simply waiting to die.

On the battlefield, comrades would treat them as soon as they were injured, and after being transported to the rear, military doctors trained by Space Marine Apothecaries would provide treatment.

If military doctors did not have time to treat them, they could also choose to receive treatment from medical servitors.

The medical servitors' metal arms would reach out when they fell, their mechanical voices would sound when they were in pain, and their drug injectors would push a life-saving dose into their veins when they were on the brink of death.

Although treatment by medical servitors is certainly not as good as treatment by military doctors, at the very least, it can save lives.

This special product undoubtedly gained immense favor from the Department of Military Affairs; a staggering order was placed by the Department of Military Affairs, as they wanted to order one hundred thousand medical servitors, and this was only the first trial batch.

However, these are all future matters; currently, the number of medical servitors is still relatively limited, which also made Alex want to deal with the Blood Oath Society more quickly.

On one hand, they themselves were a ticking time bomb, and no one knew if or when they would explode.

Especially since Alex, for the sake of confidentiality, had not yet informed the Star District about the Blood Oath Society's heresy suspicions; he had only carried out the purge within the Rostov Sub-Sector.

After all, at first, it was only a suspicion, and considering the Blood Oath Society's influence, Alex naturally wanted to keep things within controllable limits.

On the other hand, the Necrons had begun their counterattack, and Alex needed to quickly replenish the Expeditionary Force's medical strength to get the battlefield medical system up and running.
