Chapter 108 - Chapter 108 Moving and New Neighbors

Because Alex's cabinet of models and miniatures needed to be moved, and he didn't trust a regular moving company, he paid a hefty price to hire a professional moving company that offered Japanese-style moving services.

These workers, dressed in uniform professional attire and possessing highly skilled moving techniques, first, under Alex's direction, carefully wrapped his precious miniatures and models one by one with pearl cotton, then placed them in the provided packing boxes with ample cushioning, and only after Alex confirmed everything was correct, did they seal the boxes and move them.

Compared to this cabinet of models, Alex's other belongings seemed less important, and he wasn't particularly concerned, simply letting the moving company handle them according to their normal procedures without much oversight.

The important Crossing item was naturally also part of the move, but when not unfolded, this box looked like nothing more than a beautifully crafted metal box, with nothing special about it. The moving company workers simply put it into a packing box and transported it away.

Watching the professional and efficient manner of this team of movers, Gutierrez and 32, who had come to help, couldn't help but exclaim, "This moving service is truly professional! You can tell they're professionally trained; they're nothing like ordinary moving companies."

"The price is 10 times that of a normal move. If they weren't professional, how could they justify the money I paid?" Alex retorted.

"How much did you pay them?" Gutierrez asked curiously, "If it's cheap, I'll hire them next time I move wine. I really don't trust ordinary moving companies."

As a red wine distributor, Gutierrez naturally had some good wines worth thousands or tens of thousands per bottle, and his biggest headache was the difficulty of finding professional movers for red wine in the country.

"This one move cost me almost two thousand, pretty much the price of a big bundle." Alex spread his hands, then sighed, "A normal moving company would only cost the price of a box of Arbitrators. If I wasn't moving models and miniatures and worried about damage during transit, I wouldn't have spent so much money!"

"A big bundle? That's not very expensive..." Gutierrez seemed to think this price wasn't high.

However, just as he was about to say something more, he suddenly noticed one of the movers putting on gloves to move Alex's cabinet, and his expression changed as he said, "But two thousand for one move... I'll just find a logistics company next time."

Alex didn't pay much attention to Gutierrez's sudden change of mind, simply turning to watch the workers move the furniture.

"Here's the fee, please check it." Alex used his phone to scan and settle the moving fee, thanked the moving company workers for their hard work, and then sat down on the sofa in his new home.

Compared to his original house, his new home was so large that he felt it was somewhat too empty.

Apart from anything else, just the living room, which was a full forty square meters, made Alex feel that this house was truly big.

Even after all the various furniture and models he brought were moved in, the entire house still felt empty.

"Damn it, you actually have a dedicated room for models, figures, and miniatures! And another dedicated room for painting! What extravagance!" Twilight exclaimed enviously, looking at Alex's specially prepared model room and painting room.

Even Mai Mai couldn't help but say, "Your painting room is so well-equipped, it's unreasonable not to let a brother use it! It's all top-tier professional equipment from major brands, where did you get so much money?"

Alex merely shrugged and casually replied, "Can't I be a hidden rich second generation?"

"(ˉ▽ ̄~) Cut~~ If you're a hidden rich second generation, then I'm Khorne's chosen!" 32 said with disdain, clearly not believing Alex's excuse.

While those who play warhammer are generally not poor, those who can afford such a large house are still a minority.

After all, for a house this big, even at five thousand yuan per square meter, it would be 1.5 million, and it was impossible for this development to be only five thousand per square meter.

If Alex had bought a small apartment, everyone might not have found it strange, as although a few hundred thousand is not a small sum, for Alex, it wasn't a problem.

But over a million is no small sum, and no one could really say how he got so much money.

Even Gutierrez, who had some suspicions, had no interest in delving deeper into this topic.

The group chatted and made a ruckus until dinner time. Alex ordered Haidilao takeout, and after a lively and hearty meal, the others said their goodbyes, and Alex saw everyone downstairs.

For him, having friends over to liven things up was a relatively rare occurrence.

Returning upstairs, Alex happened to run into his neighbor from across the hall who was coming out to throw out trash, and they exchanged friendly greetings.

"Hello, you're new here, aren't you? I saw the moving company earlier this afternoon. I'm your neighbor across the hall. If you ever need help with anything, just ask. We're neighbors, so we help each other out." Alex's new neighbor was a very enthusiastic young man with a buzz cut, wearing a green T-shirt and camouflage pants.

Alex also greeted him warmly, and they exchanged names. After Alex learned that the other person was Liu Yi, a retired soldier, he returned to his own home.

Sitting back down in the living room, Alex couldn't help but shake his head slightly: "They're not even trying to hide it! But this is actually perfect; it saves me the trouble of explaining."

However, although Alex had guessed something, he was too lazy to delve deeper. After rolling around on the sofa, he got up and walked to the painting room, looking at his pile of miniatures, and couldn't help but break into a smile, eager to get to work.

"I finally have my own painting room! Today, I'm going to get a lot done!" Alex declared, then opened a large bundle box, took out the sprues, and began to work.

All the equipment placed in this painting room were the best painting tools Alex could think of on the market, all specifically for painting miniatures.

After all, these things would be his soldiers, his combat power in the future, so he naturally had to treat them with extra care.

And while Alex was painting his warhammer, Liu Yi, his newly acquainted neighbor, after finishing a phone call, was diligently poring over the warhammer army book he had just received.

"Astra Militarum… How come future space combat is still so rigid, fighting trench warfare like World War I and World War II? Where's orbital support? Where's air-to-ground coordination? Where's tactical bombing? Why is it just battleships and cannons, with virtually zero air support?" Liu Yi looked at the army book in front of him, feeling a sense of shock akin to an old man on the subway looking at a smartphone.

As a professional soldier who had at least received specialized training and been cultivated within a modern warfare system, looking at the clearly World War I and World War II style tactics and strategies of warhammer was truly as unpalatable as eating snow.

But he still had to diligently pore over the army book in his hands.
