Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 Crossing the Black Hole

In 1971, in a small mountain village in southeastern Asia, a major event occurred. On the night of July 2nd, a meteorite fell on this village.

The impact site created a trench over a kilometer long, twenty to thirty meters wide, and fifteen to sixteen meters deep. The entire back mountain was ablaze with fire. By the time the government department arrived, three hours had passed. They immediately sealed off the site, prohibiting anyone from approaching. All news was also blocked in this remote small mountain village. Anyone found leaking the news would be punished for treason.

.........

"Yun 妹子 (Miss Yun), be careful when you go out these days. I heard a star fell on the back mountain of the neighboring village yesterday, making a huge crater. I don't know if there's anything unclean that came down." Just as Yun Jinxin was about to go out to the production team, the aunt from the neighboring house stopped her, reminding her of what happened yesterday.

"Okay, Aunt Wang, I'll be careful." Yun Jinxin was the daughter of an intellectual family in the city and had studied abroad. She was a genuine overseas - educated person. Because of the movement of sending educated youths to the countryside in the past two years, she was among them. However, she was very lucky; she was assigned to this place where the people were very nice, the folk customs were simple and kind, and the villagers were very good to her.

Yun Jinxin was out for a whole day. When she came down the mountain in the evening, she saw a man lying by the tree at the foot of the mountain. He was very dirty, covered in mud, and had blood on his face. He looked very embarrassed and really scared her.

She walked over slowly and placed her finger under the man's nose. Fortunately, he was still breathing. She let out a sigh of relief. She held the man's hand and shook it, but the man had no reaction.

"Hey, wake up, wake up." Yun Jinxin shook him for a long time, but there was still no reaction. If it weren't for his breathing, she would have thought he was dead. Yun Jinxin looked around; there was no one. It was late at night, and it was summer with many snakes and beasts. She definitely couldn't leave him here; it was unsafe.

"Sigh, who made you meet this lady? This lady is kind - hearted, so I'll save your life." Yun Jinxin sighed and came to the man, dragging him onto her back. The man was very tall and heavy. The moment she put him on her back, she almost knelt down. Fortunately, she had been here for nearly two years and had done a lot of farm work, so she had gained a lot of strength. Otherwise, she really couldn't carry this man.

"You're so heavy!!!" Yun Jinxin, carrying the man, could barely speak two sentences. She picked up a wooden stick from the ground and walked step by step slowly. Her home was very close to the foot of the mountain, only three or four hundred meters away. But today, carrying this man, she rested four times for just three or four hundred meters and took nearly 20 minutes to get home.

When she got home, she threw the man onto the bed. Yun Jinxin was completely soaked. Then she went out to fetch water. After boiling the water, she cleaned the man up first. She found that the man was quite handsome, 估计 (estimating) he was about 1.8 to 1.9 meters tall.

There were some wounds on the man's face, which had already scabbed over, and a few scars that seemed to have been there for a long time. But they still couldn't hide his temperament, which was very unusual and gave people a sense of "strangers keep away". His clothes and pants were dark blue, and there was some kind of logo on his right chest, which she didn't recognize. There was also the English 大写 (capital) "UGS" below the logo.

Yun Jinxin carefully took off the man's clothes. The material of the clothes was very good, feeling better than silk, and very light.

Because Yun Jinxin was a student of Yenching University and had received a high - level education, she didn't have as many taboos as the village women regarding men. She thought the man was an injured person, and all her actions were reasonable. She subconsciously thought it was okay.

It took her a lot of effort to take off the man's clothes, leaving him with the last bit of decency. She thought that no matter what, this was the most basic respect. She took off the man's clothes out of kindness, to check if he had other wounds. But kindness to others should be based on respect. If she really took off all his clothes, the purpose and nature would change.

"My god, what have you been through?" Yun Jinxin looked at the man's body and exclaimed. The man's whole body was covered with various scars, much more terrifying than the wounds on his face.

Yun Jinxin suppressed the shock in her heart and carefully examined the man's body. Unexpectedly, the man had no wounds on his body. Logically, he was unconscious, but there were no wounds on his body. The wounds on his face were also not serious and had already scabbed over. It wouldn't be long before they healed.

It was getting late, and the village doctor wouldn't come back. She simply wiped the man's body and then went to take a bath. Because it was summer, the weather was very hot, and it was still stuffy at night.

Yun Jinxin took a few stools and placed them together in the yard, then fell asleep. She was really too tired. Moreover, the yard was not as stuffy as the house. The cool breeze blew, making her very comfortable. She fell asleep on the stools after a while.

The next morning, Yun Jinxin woke up early. She went to the inner room to check on the man and found that he was still unconscious. She touched his forehead; he didn't have a fever.

Then she went out to find the doctor from the neighboring village. The doctor's surname was Li, and he was almost 60 years old. His medical skills were very good, and his prices were very reasonable. People from several nearby villages came to him for treatment. Although it was a bit far, his medical skills were good and not expensive, so Yun Jinxin didn't hesitate and went to find that doctor.

"Doctor Li, this is the patient I told you about." Yun Jinxin went out at six in the morning and dragged Doctor Li over. By the time she got home, it was already almost ten o'clock.

Doctor Li looked at the man lying on the bed. His face was ruddy, and he didn't look like a sick person at all. Traditional Chinese medicine pays attention to "望闻问切 (inspection, auscultation and olfaction, inquiry, pulse - feeling)". He couldn't find out why. On the way, Yun Jinxin had already told him the whole situation.

He took the man's pulse. The more he looked, the more he felt something was wrong. The man's complexion was ruddy, his pulse was steady, and his breathing was very smooth. He frowned and said nothing.

"Doctor, what's wrong with him? Is it very serious?" Yun Jinxin looked at the doctor's furrowed brows and had a bad premonition.

"It's not that. His qi and blood are abundant, his pulse is steady, and he's very healthy." Doctor Li withdrew his hand, stood up, and looked at Yun Jinxin.

"If he's fine, why hasn't he woken up after a night?" This confused Yun Jinxin. He was fine, so why hadn't he woken up after sleeping all night?

"I speculate that he's overly exhausted or has suffered some major blow, causing him to not want to wake up on his own." Doctor Li could only say what he thought. A person was in good health and had steady breathing but was unconscious. Either he was overly exhausted or had a "heart disease" and didn't want to wake up.

Overexhaustion could be made up for by rest; more rest would naturally be okay. But if it was a "heart disease", it would be very difficult to treat.

"These three doses are for calming the nerves, one dose three times a day." Doctor Li took out three small packs of medicine from his medicine box and placed them on the table. As a doctor, it was very reasonable for his medicine box to have medicines for calming the nerves and waking up the mind. This was very reasonable, extremely reasonable. After Yun Jinxin paid, Doctor Li left with his medicine box.

Yun Jinxin looked at the man on the bed and fell into deep thought. After a while, she left. She was a kind - hearted person; otherwise, she wouldn't have volunteered to come to the countryside as an educated youth. She came here with her ideals and ambitions. She didn't expect to change the country's situation by herself but hoped to do her bit. When she was in college, her major was ecological agriculture and production and economic management. However, due to limited talent, she only learned the basics. So she volunteered to come here to fulfill her ambitions. While breaking away from her family, she could also realize her ideals in her heart. Killing two birds with one stone, why not?

She wanted to help this man, purely out of her 本心,without any selfish motives. So she had to go to work; otherwise, the two of them wouldn't even be able to afford food. Currently, the system of distribution according to work was implemented, and food was obtained with food coupons. Currently, her food coupons were sufficient for one person, but for two people, it would be a bit tight. So she had to work harder.

Actually, she was quite lucky. The villagers were very kind, and since she was a scholar, the villagers were very good to her. She rarely did heavy work. But if this went on, she would feel embarrassed, so she also helped with some heavy work, and the villagers liked her more and more.

She also liked the environment of the village very much. In this era, it was rare for rural areas to realize the importance of reading. She was very lucky to have met such a good environment, so most of the time, she was teaching people to read and write.

Because of her arrival in the past two years, the village's environment had become much better. She used her professional agricultural knowledge to help the village with the planting of many fruits and vegetables. At the same time, she also learned a lot of experience and things that she couldn't learn in the classroom. She fell in love with this land and this landscape.

It was already past eleven o'clock. She hurriedly finished her meal and went out.

"Ouch, I'm so tired today, my back aches." In the evening, Yun Jinxin came home and sat on a chair, rubbing her waist and back. She had helped with a lot of farm work for the production team today. This was the first time she had been so tired since she came here. In the past, she only helped the production team with odd jobs, and she only helped with farm work during the harvest season. This was the first time in midsummer.

"Why haven't you woken up yet? It's been two days, and you don't have any wounds on your body. Could it be that you really don't want to wake up?" Yun Jinxin looked at the man lying on the bed, unconscious, and murmured to herself.

After resting for a while, Yun Jinxin felt not so tired anymore and went to fetch water. By the time she finished eating and washing, it was already nine o'clock.

"Sigh, it's so late. I'll wash the clothes and then go to rest." She also took the man's clothes, planning to wash them together.

"Hey, there's something in the clothes pocket." When she felt around in the inner lining of the clothes and took out a small piece of paper, she flipped it over and was shocked again, covering her small mouth in surprise.
