Phil used the terrain for cover as he closed in. Natasha's wire and shock devices lashed toward the believers' staves, while Clint's arrows flew with pinpoint precision, striking the exposed joints of their limbs.
The dark believers clearly hadn't expected Saitama to be this strong—nor had they expected the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents to coordinate so smoothly. Their dark sorcery required time to channel, and under Saitama's absolute suppression and the agents' precise strikes, their formation fell into chaos. Several believers had their staves disrupted by Natasha, breaking their casting; others were hit by Clint's arrows and fell with screams.
The fight quickly became one-sided.
But as they cleared the believers, Saitama's gaze slid past the chaotic battlefield and locked onto the end of the corridor.
There was an even more magnificent hall ahead. At its center stood a massive crystal pillar—pitch-black from top to bottom. Its surface was covered in writhing runes, and it was now radiating a heart-stopping dark purple glow. The remaining dark believers surrounded the pillar, raising their staves and chanting incomprehensible incantations. With every line they recited, the pillar's light intensified, and an indescribable, terrifying pressure began to awaken from within!
"They're waking something up," Saitama said grimly. He could feel the energy inside the pillar surging—far beyond the sea monsters from before!
"Stop them!" Phil barked, firing harder at the chanting believers.
But it was too late!
The believers around the black crystal pillar let out a final, sharp, fanatical shriek and slammed their staves into the ground. The black crystals atop their staves shattered at the same time, turning into streams of pure dark energy that surged into the central pillar like rivers rushing to the sea!
BZZZ—!!!
The entire underwater ruin began to shake violently! Pebbles rained from the dome, and the seawater churned under an invisible force as if it were boiling. The massive black crystal pillar erupted with blinding brilliance, and a dark purple halo flooded the hall, dyeing everything in ominous color.
Then spiderweb cracks spread across the pillar's surface!
BOOOOM!!!
A roar—like it came from some primeval age—shattered what little glass and fragile structure remained in the ruin. The crystal pillar detonated completely, fragments blasting outward like black meteors!
Amid the storm of black crystal shards and berserk torrents of energy, a colossal silhouette—so huge it sparked despair—slowly rose to its feet.
It was the awakened horrible beast!
Its body dwarfed the earlier sea monsters by several times, like a moving mountain. Its skin was a deep, iron-dark shade that seemed to swallow all light, covered in twisted grooves and spikes like cooled magma. Most terrifying of all was its head—no clear facial features, only two enormous eye sockets like entrances to the abyss, within which burned two cold, flickering ghost-blue flames.
A darkness so condensed it felt physical surged outward from the beast in tidal waves, crushing the air itself and making it hard to breathe.
The beast lifted its head in a soundless roar, and a powerful wave of telekinesis exploded outward in an instant!
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The massive stone pillars around the hall were ripped straight from the ground and hurled like cannon shells toward Saitama and the S.H.I.E.L.D. team!
