Chapter 635 - Chapter 635

Phil stared at the screen filled with dense swarms of small sea monsters surging in without fear of death, then looked at the rune above the ocean surface radiating ominous light. He made a decisive call.

"Quinjet, gain altitude and maintain maximum alert! Natasha, Clint—provide aerial fire support! Fitz, Simmons—prepare the deep-dive equipment! Saitama-san, we need you to cover our descent!"

"Understood." Saitama's reply was short and firm.

He stopped holding back. His body became a yellow whirlwind, moving at high speed around the aircraft. Every time he paused, one—or several—sea monsters were instantly crushed, carving out space for the dive.

Very soon, a small deep-sea submersible dropped from the Quinjet's belly. Carrying Saitama, Phil, Fitz, and Simmons, it broke through the sea monsters' encirclement under Natasha and Clint's covering fire, then plunged rapidly into the dark depths.

The deeper they went, the darker it became. The pressure of the seawater increased as well. The submersible's searchlights could only illuminate a small patch ahead. Around them was dead black silence—only the instruments' beeping and the faint sound of water currents.

No one knew how long they descended before, at the edge of the light beam, a vague outline appeared.

As they drew closer, a massive, ancient complex slowly revealed itself.

A gigantic ruin—sunken on the seabed.

Its style was eerie, absolutely unlike any civilization known to humanity. Huge stone pillars leaned and snapped, and grand halls were covered in coral and seaweed, yet the overall structure still stubbornly stood on the dark seafloor. The entire ruin radiated an indescribable sinister presence—like a sleeping beast—making people instinctively shudder.

"It's here! The energy source is in the center of the ruins!" Fitz pointed at the screen, where the signal spiked violently.

The submersible approached the entrance carefully—an enormous archway, like the gaping mouth of a monster.

The moment the submersible passed through the arch—

Everything changed.

On the stone walls to either side, rows of faint blue lights flared to life without warning. Immediately after, dozens of arm-thick blue beams—packed with destructive energy—shot out from every angle like the scythe of death.

They were so fast, dodging was almost impossible!

"Watch out!" Phil shouted.

In that split second—

Saitama moved.

He wasn't inside the submersible. He had already put on a simple deep-sea suit (though for him it was probably just decoration) and swam like a nimble fish, taking position directly in front of the submersible.

His figure flashed through the dense storm of death beams, speed so extreme it left afterimages. He couldn't destroy the beams, but with superhuman reflexes and speed, he precisely predicted every trajectory, dodging with the smallest movements possible.

At the same time, using his body and the shockwaves from his punches, he forcibly deflected any beam path that might strike the submersible.

"Go!" Saitama's voice came through the comms.

Under his protection, the submersible crossed the corridor of lethal beams in one piece, entering a comparatively open interior space.

Everyone exited the submersible and planted their feet firmly—on the seafloor.

Saitama swam in as well, his eyes sweeping the surroundings.

In the searchlight's glow, the inside of the ruins was breathtaking. A gigantic dome towered overhead. The walls weren't bare stone—they were densely carved with strange runes and incomprehensible patterns.
